Boundary Labyrinth and the Foreign Magician

39 Invitation to the royal castle

"But minus that, the demons that come out of the labyrinth are nothing like everyone else in the settlement."

"What do you mean?

"Everyone felt different in character, individually and liked it. I mean the demon of the labyrinth... against everyone in my memory, there's no place like that. It's a strange battle to lose your mind."

Hmm. I was born in the labyrinth, not "gushing" in the first place. Illumhilt did say so, though, that we all lived together.

"I'm not sure. Your parents were there?

"Yes."

Nodding as a matter of course, Illumhilt laughs in nostalgia.

"There are rules in the village. You don't think I should go outside? Nobody's allowed in, or anything."

Indeed - as far as I know, I have never seen a demon of a species that is friendly to humans or that behaves friendly to humans inside the labyrinth.

Even if you rule, you let them live after leaving quite a bit of free will.

Hmm. Imaginarily quarantine or protect...... would it? Then who? For what?

"Who decided what the rules are?

"Mmm. I didn't really doubt it. Speaking of which, who is it? No wonder."

Ilmhilt tilted his neck with his hand against his cheek.

"Er..."

"Illumhilt is this kind of kid"

And Sheila says.

... even if she's not under control. This means... maybe she's just being comfortable.

"Well, in any case, there are no settlements in the shallow hierarchy, I suppose?

"Really?

"From what I've looked into the labyrinth, I've never heard of the demonic settlement. If you think about the situation and purpose of the settlement, you don't want someone to break in, and you don't want the residents out."

"Hmm... well, I guess it's impossible to look for it as it is now"

Illumhilt sighed.

And that's when the knock sounded. It was Heather who showed his face.

"What's going on?

"I'm here to see Mr. Theodore."

"I understand. I'll be right there."

"Huh? Oh, no. Hey... and wait"

That's what I answered Heather, but she looked back and tried to hold someone back.

"I'm sorry. As I said earlier, please wait in the lobby. I'm in the middle of a visit."

"No, I don't mind. I'm in a hurry."

"Wait a minute. Mr. Chester."

"It's okay."

and so on.

No... not really okay though.

She was frowning uncomfortably when she glanced at Sheila. That's right. She was pretty cautious about me and Illumhilt seeing each other.

In urban areas - especially here, in Termwilds, it's relatively tolerant of the Fae, starting with elves and dwarves. That kind of basement leads me to the ground of accepting friendly and harmless demons if they are. Sometimes the Adventurer Alliance is familiar with the reality of demons.

But I'm just saying that's tolerant. I am not saying that there is no discrimination or persecution.

Grace has similar circumstances. If I wear a curse, I won't be harmed because I don't have a blood-sucking urge, and I can't figure it out by appearance, so I can stay out of those things. Otherwise - even mixed blood will be treated the same as vampires. That's why Sheila doesn't have to know what it's like to worry.

In the meantime, you would be right to be careful if you don't know who they are. In the direction of not letting you walk out of my room.

As I peek into my face from Heather's side, I gaze at the man with brown hair. He's a man with a sword, weaving a crested surcoat.

From the point of view of your identity - you belong to the Knights. Age 20 There. He has a seemingly refreshing grin, but my impression is not very good at the moment. Whether it is intentional or natural is not yet a matter of judgment.

"Hey, are you the rumored sorcerer?"

"It's Theodore Gartner."

"I'm Chester-Grenbell. I brought you an invitation to a night club in the royal castle. No, I went to the house yesterday, but he seemed to be away and he ended up empty-handed. I heard a lot about you diving into the labyrinth."

"Was it"

"Well, as far as I'm concerned, we're good because we made it, five days from now. The monument will be opened in the royal castle, but I want you to attend the defeat of the demon first. So we have a quick invitation for you."

"A monster, what?

"It's not a big deal. Your Majesty is also scheduled to attend."

... like five days from now. It doesn't seem like a hurry at all. Rather than a call from the royal castle, it feels like I've tried calling a rumored figure as a surprise guest.

But what makes a knight bring an invitation or something?

Well, I don't ask. I have trouble getting stuck badly and being talked into here.

The Royal Castle Mages and Knights aren't close, and they wouldn't be a loco background anyway.

"I understand. Well, that doesn't mean you won't show your face."

"Yeah. Well, I did give it to you, didn't I?

Chester pulled back slightly for the price and left. What was it?

"Excuse me, Mr. Theodore. I told you to wait in the lobby."

Heather comes bowing her head.

"No, you can't help it if you've come in on your own. What is he more than that?

"It's someone I've recently named in the Knights. Though rumored to have considerable skill. Yeah. Five days later, you said. Maybe it's a dinner party hosted by the Knights. His Majesty will also be present this year, so it was planned to be a grand event... There was a demon riot, and it's on schedule, right?

Did the knights come because they were hosted by the Knights? Well, it's an easy reason to understand.

"Uh. At this point in time, you want me to take a seat to celebrate my victory over the Devil?"

"Ah, that sounds like it..."

Heather frowned subtly at my words.

Several soldiers have died, but that makes my preparation so far wasted when I solemnly declare it.

If it were to take place in the royal castle and the king would show his face... well you wouldn't want to call it a halt so easily.

So, by calling me, it's a celebration, or I've orbited the spirit of a seat to comfort a brave soldier?

Then you'll need my presence. I'm saying what an invitation is, but it's become an essential part of it, and I guess I really wanted you to attend. That's why it became a subtle name for a monster rather than a dinner party.

Because you wanted to make the event definitive, you wanted to give me an invitation as soon as possible to attach your consent, and you wanted to appeal to me that you valued me by putting out a well-known knight, or maybe you tried to create an air that I couldn't refuse. At first glance, it was a good youth style.

He pulled right back because I gave him my full consent, but if he showed any difficulty, he might have eaten it down.

... No well, the candidates are completely wrong.

I don't really understand the character of Chester, but if it's natural, it's not suitable for messengers except for martial arts, and if it was done intentionally, I can assume that it would have been if I had been dissatisfied with what I used from above.

"Are you attending?

"Well, I got your invitation."

As far as I'm concerned, I thought sooner or later there would be talk like this at the time I defeated the demon.

Because I still want to dive into the labyrinth for the time being, and even if they decide how to put me in my absence on their own.

If it is inevitable, there is nothing to say if you can speak well with the great man by attending and expressing your position and thoughts.

After that, I put some exploration into what happened to the information I got from Lynette.
