Boundary Labyrinth and the Foreign Magician
45 A glimpse with King Melvin
"I'm home."
"Welcome back"
"Have you finished talking?
When I return to the upstairs balcony of the reception hotel, I am greeted with a smile by the two of them.
"Oh, I didn't feel like sitting in the royal castle, and we talked about not interfering with each other."
Because I actually think that's what winning or losing was like when it was about that promise.
"So - what are you doing now?
Looking at the square, a stone pillar stands with as many as a hug carried from somewhere. There is one knight in armor who takes a slight distance and faces each other. There is a bastard sword in my hand.
"The Knight Commander's exam, let's do it."
Test moves. I mean, do you want me to cut that stone column into rings? Looking at it, he jumps and swings a bastard sword over the big upper section. The struggle wraps around the bastard sword, leaving it to the momentum of the fall to slap from the longitudinal direction as it is.
The crushing sound of the stone sounds. When the blade of the bastard sword reached the ground without losing any momentum, the stone columns fell from the middle to the left and right nicely.
A moment late, applause and cheer rolled out of the audience.
Great sword martial arts, it's a burst. The leap before that is not one of martial arts. The chief of the knights did his hand around his waist and let him pray to the king and the audience.
"It's flashy."
"It's a sunny day. He likes to fight plain."
And, Oswald. Oswald doesn't seem to put his shoulder in anyone, he seems to think that if he's strong, he's good, if he's funny.
"Everybody, brilliant. the results of my daily workouts, I was clearly shown with this eye"
Apparently, the Knights Commander's performance was the last one, and King Melvin let him snort satisfactorily.
"Those with significant traces of effort are called by name below. Take the prize, so state what you want."
Following the king's mouth, the proximity reads out the names of each knight. Say what you want... but the knights who were called by name only answer, as they pressed judgment, "As My Lord wills". I'll leave the reward to your discretion.
"Lord Chester."
Chester was also returning among the knights in line in the square, but he felt somewhere above the sky and did not react immediately when he was called by his name.
"Sir Chester?
"Ha! Excuse me."
"Good. Say what you want."
"... as you wish, my lord."
On his knees, taking the minister's thanks, Chester answers, but his teeth were slightly badly cut. There's something surprising about Melvin's expression, but it's also a flash.
"Uhm. Then the knights shall wait for the reward. Well..."
Melvin nods and shifts her gaze towards me.
... are you here? Though I thought there was something to talk about from the royal family even though I thought I had defeated the demon man.
"The Merit who fought for my kingdom - I have to reward my little hero. Hence, let him get a reward just commensurate with his accomplishments. But that's not the same as the rest of the knights you're holding, so you'll need to talk in more detail."
Melvin told him to come as far as the king's tower, laughing satisfactorily and turning himself over. A chant in honour of the king fills the square.
The content of the award should be consulted.
All of a sudden, it's something about a grace award... and in my case, it won't be heard in a public place. Unlike your knights, it's hard to follow up when I say something stupid.
"Your Majesty is asking for guidance."
That's what I came to say was a woman knight wrapped in magnificent armor, feathering a white cape. The Kingsguard's armor.
"Well, I thought I'd stay one foot back."
Grace said so reluctantly, but the knight answers with a grin.
"We have also heard about you. Your Majesty told me to come straight to the king's tower."
"... I accepted the invitation, is it okay if I accompany you? I 'm-"
"You say it all the time. In the Royal Castle, people of different races, for example elves and dwarves, also hold jobs and come and go. But that ring - so you're glad? If you make a mistake, you won't be able to unseal it inside the Imperial Castle."
"Understood."
Do you know Grace accurately?
Is the source of the information from the guild or from the school building? Or - from my father? It can also be that the information was communicated from the beginning.
I'm not faking my identity, so I'm not hiding that I'm a bastard in Count Gartner's house. If my father had originally intended to sit on Byron's guardian, no wonder he had some roots about me and Grace.
Follow the Kingsguard to the heart of the Royal Castle Theorem, the King's Tower. Climbing a large staircase and entering the white tower, I saw a giant pillar just penetrating the center of a wide hall.
The columns are hollowed through the walls and interior so that they can be inserted inside. The Kingsguard knight proceeded to a small room inside the cavity.
"Take a ride near the center"
Uh. You mean get in...?
Looking up at the ceiling, it's a vertical hole. The tattooed wall itself shines white and can be seen up quite a bit... but it seems to continue to a fairly high point. This structure. I know what it's for.
When I followed the word of the Kingsguard, they both came into a small room inside the pillar. The Kingsguard knight confirms it and then squeals something with his hands on the wall jewel.
Magic circuits transmit magic and green lines of light run on the floor.
- At the same time, the entrance that came in becomes a wall, and the scaffolding inside the column rises vertically with us on board.
"Huh...? What the hell is going on here?
Look inside the pillar like Grace was bewildered. There was a unique, pressing feeling to gravity. It would feel less familiar to those unfamiliar with the elevator ride.
"Now - are you able to get to the top?
"Well understood, eh?
When I checked with the Kingsguard and explained the situation, they were very good at it.
"... that's an amazing trick"
"You'll all be surprised. You may be anxious, but don't worry, there has never been a breakdown of pumice stones."
To Ashley with her eyes round, the Kingsguard knight smiles.
... Theorem was originally said to be part of the labyrinth. It's not strange to have one or two of these insane tricks in this world.
Never broken... Maintenance free, or the labyrinth side must be repairing automatically. Then, if you go to the depths of the labyrinth, there may be tricks like this.
"Sure it's fast to go up and down...... isn't this the only inconvenient route?
"There are certainly other ways to get in and out. Are you using a flying dragon or traveling by a metastatic magic formation? But between the main entrance and the sight, use the pumice pillar. We can't let our guests climb the stairs from our soldiers' and knights' quarters."
Does this' pillar of pumice '… also serve to counteract intruders and to inform foreign guests of the Kingdom's prestige?
Although the castle is a royal neighborhood, it is also expected to serve as a fortress.
Eventually, when the pumice stopped moving, one corner of the wall disappeared to dissolve in the void so that it could go outside the pillar.
Your Majesty is waiting for you.
A carpet with long hairy feet is laid on the floor as it exits the interior of the elevator.
It is a corridor lined with fine decorated columns.
The ceiling is painted.... the corridor itself was such a place as to call it a work of art.
It passed through such a museum-membered corridor and eventually reached in front of a large door.
"Beyond this door will be a glimpse. Let me take a look at you."
"Go ahead."
Mm-hmm. Is that why you got a female Kingsguard knight? I know you've taken a lot of care of me. Did the king like you that much?
While being body-checked by the Kingsguard knight, I looked at the decorations between refrains, etc., and the walls and floors were clearly engraved with a different pattern than the decorations.
Apparently, there are boundaries between the sight and the holding room that connects there. Sounds like a pretty powerful anti-magic junction... is this some sort of anti-assassination measure by a magician or something?
It would be a natural preparation because it is a place where royalty has contact with external human beings.
"Sounds fine."
At the end of the Kingsguard's body check, the door finally opened that followed between the glances.
If he proceeded to walk during the sight, the king and queen's throne were lined up on the stairs with court nobles consolidating their sides to Kingsguard knights and court magicians.
"Well done, I'm here. Little hero. I'll allow a direct answer, so raise your face. Must be the son of Count Henry and Saint Lisa, Theodor-Gartner?
"Yes, Your Majesty"
Answering, Melvin smiles that smile again.
"Make it the son of the Virgin a genius sorcerer out of the world, huh? You deserve a demon killer, don't make a good face. Kirinko like that will be preferred for the rest."
I don't think a guy like me was under his command, so I feel rather amused as a matter of profit before. In a rare and animal sense.
It's probably because of my mother that she won't ask me about magic.
"Well, as I told you earlier. I'm going to get you a reward... but I'd like to hear more from you than I've come to Termwilds. Tell me what you think."
"I'm afraid so. I want to keep running adventurers for a while."
"Hmm. What's the reason?
"I want to increase my strength. I know about my mother."
If you know Grace, you know the King of Dead Sleep. I won't explain much more.
Diving into the labyrinth is something the kingdom encourages, and there are times when demons are involved in the Moonlight Temple, and my desire to dive into the labyrinth will be a wish or fulfillment for King Melvin.
Besides... I still don't know my personality very well from the royal side, and suddenly I think it would be more welcome than asking for a title, territory, status, or officer.
"- You're already a demon killer, but you want to be even more powerful."
King Melvin laughed joyfully, wide open.
"That's a reliable answer. For a while, does that mean... that there will be another idea in the future... hmm"
King Melvin glanced and nodded at Grace and Ashley, who would refrain behind me.
"Fine. Including that, let's celebrate our martial arts and future when we have more."
In other words... diving into the labyrinth would mean that our friends have been approved by the King.
Ashley is the head of the Baron Siln family. If you want to prevent my exodus, which is a demon killer, is engagement with nobility to be welcomed from the very beginning?
Now if Ashley hadn't been here, I might have been pressed into other conversations.
"But it was originally earned, but it cannot be called a grace. Let me do a little research on that. They're looking for a cane. Right?
"Exactly."
"Then I will give you the magic wand over the treasure trove outside the bounty, so you can choose to wave whatever you like."
"... Your Majesty's graciousness, I thank you very much"
"Hmm. I'm counting on it to work."
From Theorem's treasure trove, huh? Needless to say, it's precious. Nor is it a substitute that you can buy if you give money.
My predicament and relationship, while maintaining the status quo, give back and give away treasures that cannot be bought with gold.
Honestly, it's a thankful story. That's all the king expects.
The demon thing stinks of kina, too, and I'm pretty sure it's seen as a valuable force. Fighting demons is - where Ning Luo wants it.
The gift of the magic wand would also be a story because of the diminished involvement between me and the court.
Even if it's a form of courtesy to my will, it's not tangled up in power. There will be less rebellion from nobility and less gotagota associated with environmental change, and it may be the king who is most pleased with it in his heart. The right way to use unnecessary treasures.
"I'll call you back for some other fold, so that's how I get it. Next time - right. I'll even invite you to dinner."
If there's any discovery or progress regarding the Temple of Moonlight or the Demon, what do you think?
No, and you mean supper. You liked it a lot.
If you stop by, it's called the shade of the great tree, but when the distance gets too close, it's troublesome that King Melvin is only old there, and there is a later shake back.
... I can't help but worry about what's ahead. There's Prince Albert, and we'll figure something out.
Later - what kind of magic wand sleeps in the treasure trove, right?
