Chapter 179: My Fault?
Rebecca’s POV
Kaden’s eyes weren’t green anymore. They had shifted to that terrifying, predatory gold, burning with a jealousy so heavy it felt like it was crushing my chest.
"It’s your fault," he hissed, his face so close I could feel the heat pouring off his skin. "Walking into that room wearing that dress... looking like that. You have no idea what you do to me, Rebecca. Every Alpha in there was staring at what’s mine."
My fear melted into white-hot anger. I shoved at his chest, even though he didn’t budge. "My fault?" I snapped, my voice shaking. "You were the one who got me this dress, Alpha Kaden!"
"You could’ve rejected it if you didn’t like it," he growled, but his fingers only tightened around my arm as if he were afraid I’d disappear. "I saw the way you smiled at Alexander... the way he looked at you. It drove me insane. I hate that they got to see you like that. I hate that anyone else thinks they have the right to want you."
His words still stung, but there was something else underneath the anger now—something rough and almost desperate. I frowned, tears stinging my eyes. "You think I wanted their attention? You think I enjoyed being paraded around like a prize?"
"Then why were you talking to Alexander?" His voice dropped into that low, dangerous tone that always twisted my stomach. "I left for five minutes and came back to see you smiling at him. Tell me the truth, Rebecca... are you trying to make me lose my mind? Do you want a Nightshade Alpha because you think he’ll be gentler than me?"
"Alexander talked to me like I was a human being!" I screamed, tears finally spilling over. "He saw a woman in trouble, not a plaything or a slave! He’s the only one who hasn’t looked at me like I’m something to devour!"
My chest heaved as another wave of anger crashed through me. Suddenly, the memory of that card table came rushing back.
"And you bet me!" I screamed.
The words hit him.
For the first time since we had entered the room, Kaden went completely still.
"You sat at that table and bet me like I was nothing!" I shoved his chest again, tears streaming down my face. "Like I was one of your cars, or your money, or a piece of land you could simply hand over!"
"Rebecca—"
"No!" I cut him off. "You don’t get to stand here and act jealous because Alexander spoke to me. You don’t get to be angry because another man looked at me when you were willing to give me to Zach for an entire night!"
His jaw clenched. "I knew I was going to win."
"You didn’t know!" I cried. "You couldn’t have known! What if you had lost, Kaden?"
His expression darkened.
"What would you have done?" I demanded, staring straight into his eyes. "Would you have handed me over to him? Would you have stood there and watched him take me away?"
"Never."
The word came out as a vicious growl.
"Then why did you say yes?"
Kaden stared at me, his chest rising and falling heavily.
"I would have killed him before I let him take you," he said, his voice dangerously quiet. "I would have slaughtered every Alpha in that room before I let another male put his hands on you."
I shook my head, disgust and hurt twisting inside me. "Then you shouldn’t have bet me in the first place."
Something flickered across his face.
Regret.
But it disappeared almost immediately, swallowed by the jealousy still burning in his golden eyes.
"You’re right," he said quietly. "I shouldn’t have."
His hand tightened around my arm.
"But when I saw the way they were looking at you... when I saw Alexander standing beside you..." His voice grew rougher. "I stopped thinking."
That was the breaking point.
Kaden’s control snapped. He crashed his mouth against mine in a fierce, demanding kiss that tasted like fury, fear, and something deeper—something that made my heart stutter. I struggled for half a second, but he was too strong, too overwhelming. Before I could process it, he spun me around and pressed me face-first against the cold wall. I cried out as his trembling fingers found the zipper and yanked it down violently.
The red dress slid forward, pooling around my waist. Cool air kissed my bare skin and I shivered hard, feeling the weight of his gaze devouring the curve of my back and the full swell of my ass.
"You think he wants to talk to you, Rebecca?" he whispered hotly against my spine, his breath making me tremble. "He wants exactly what I want. But he’s never going to touch a single inch of this. Only me."
With one rough tug, he shoved the dress the rest of the way down. It pooled around my ankles, leaving me completely naked. I stood there shaking as he pressed his hard, burning body flush against my back. His hands roamed over my waist, almost reverent despite the roughness, before sliding up to fist in my hair. He yanked my head back gently and dragged his teeth down my neck, then covered my spine with hot, possessive kisses that felt like both punishment and worship.
The sharp crack of his palm meeting my ass echoed through the room. I gasped as the sting bloomed into throbbing heat.
"That’s for Alexander," he growled, his voice thick. Another loud smack landed. "And that’s for letting anyone else think they could have you. You’re mine, Rebecca. Do you understand?"
He spun me around, lifted me like I weighed nothing, and carried me to the floor-to-ceiling glass. He pressed my front against the freezing pane, crushing my heavy breasts against the cold surface. The shock of ice on my skin against the scorching heat of his body behind me made me whimper.
"Look out there," he growled against my ear, almost pleading. "Watch the world while I remind you who you belong to."
His hand shoved between my thighs, spreading my soaked folds. His thumb ground hard against my swollen clit and my forehead thumped against the glass as unwanted pleasure crashed through me. I hated how wet I was for him. I hated how badly my body craved him even when my mind was still angry.
He freed his thick cock and thrust into me in one heavy stroke. I let out a choked scream that fogged the glass. He fucked me hard—deep, relentless—his pelvis slamming against my ass with loud, obscene sounds. Every thrust pushed my breasts harder against the window, my nipples aching from the cold.
It still wasn’t enough. He pulled out suddenly, dragged me to the mahogany desk, and swept everything crashing to the floor. He lifted me onto the edge, forced my legs wide, and stepped between them. The hard wood bit into the backs of my thighs as he leaned down and caught my nipple between his teeth, biting just hard enough to make me arch and cry out.
While his mouth tormented my breast, his fingers worked my clit—fast, frantic, desperate. My face burned, my eyes rolling back despite myself.
"You’re mine, Rebecca," he rasped, his voice rough with something that sounded dangerously close to need. "Say it."
I refused, biting my lip until it hurt.
He slammed back inside me, burying himself to the hilt with every brutal thrust. My hands flew to his shoulders, my nails digging into his skin as I held on. The wet, filthy sounds of him fucking me filled the room while waves of pleasure dragged me closer to the edge.
Finally, he pulled me off the desk, my legs shaking so badly I could barely stand. He dragged me in front of the big gilded mirror and stood behind me, his strong, tattooed arms wrapping around my soft waist, pulling me tight against his chest like he never wanted to let go.
"Look at yourself," he whispered, his voice dark but trembling with emotion. "Look at what you do to me... what I become for you."
He reached down, spread my pussy open right in front of the mirror, and slowly pushed his thick cock back inside me. I watched—wide-eyed and breathless—as every inch of him disappeared into me. He moved slower now, passionate and deep, forcing me to feel every vein, every thick ridge. His eyes met mine in the reflection, golden and intense, as he fucked me.
