Chapter 194: Not even a god can save you
As the shaman made his way forward, a thick fog trailed behind him. He stood before the Mighty Cheetah then bowed, expressing his respect. This shaman was not from the cheetah clan, Alpha Wolf Wei Jie had sourced for him himself, someone not even Hye Yang would have the means to reach out to.
"It is an honour to be at your presence, mighty ruler." The shaman said, his hand fastened around his long, crooked wooden staff which had a sapphire stone carved into the centre of the woven woodwork at the top of his staff. The Shaman was dressed in a whitish blue cloak and his staff glistened crystal blue along with the blue markings on his body.
"Please rise." Ming Tao said. The shaman did as he was told. "The subject before us refuses to accept to crimes she had committed. Please, do the needful." Ming Tao said to the shaman. The shaman bowed his head lower once more before positioning himself upright.
His attention shifted to Hye Yang. The woman’s eyes widened as he came close to her.
"Go away from me!" Hye Yang barked. "You cannot get near to me without my consent. Leave me at once!" She continued.
The shaman paid no heed to her words and strolled in front of her. "If you have nothing to hide, then this will not be painful."
Painful? Mira asked herself, What did he mean by painful? Mira did not voice out her thoughts and decided to watch.
Hye Yang, knelt down, pushed her figure backwards by scraping her knees on the ground. The shaman did not seem to mind as he kept moving as she did before her back hit the wooden table. Now he stretched his hand forward and let his index finger, middle finger and thumb draw out.
Hye Yang still struggle to move despite being trapped to avoid his touch but it was futile. The shaman placed his fingers on her forehead. His eyes came shut then immediately opened, now, his eyes glinted with a shiny blue ray and Hye Yang’s eyes widened. Her lips spread apart and her veins looked as though the light from the shaman ran through them. Faint blue rays beamed out of Hye Yang’s mouth and eyes and the change in the colour of her veins spread all through her body till it settled from her neck to her head. No matter how much Hye Yang fought and twitched, whatever it was that shaman did by touching her did not stop trailing up her body and now that it had reached her head, Hye Yang stilled.
Her body began to twitch and as much Mira wanted to see this, she did not like that whatever demony thing was going on was right in front of her so she walked out of the confinement of the seat and the desk to her husband. Mira wrapped her hands around Ming Tao’s arm and tip toed.
"Tell him to move away from my front." She whispered into Ming Tao’s ear
Ming Tao churned his head slightly to the side to face Mira. "Why?" He asked softly.
Mira clenched onto Ming Tao’s arm more tightly like a kitten who did not want to let go of her human owner. "It looks shady. I don’t want whatever voodoo that is reaching me nor our baby." Mira stated in a lower tone.
A smile curled on Ming Tao’s lips, Mira genuinely looked worried and scared at the same time in a funny way and it took everything in him to not chuckle. "Stay by my side a bit longer, then he will leave. I don’t want to interrupt the flow." Ming Tao said.
Mira ran to his other side and clung to him. "Okay." She stated. Her body pressed against Ming Tao’s as she poked her head past him to look at what was happening between the shaman and Hye Yang. With how close she glued him, it seemed like she wanted to melt into his skin. Ming Tao enjoyed the softness of her figure as it rested against his and he pulled his hand around her then stuck it to her waist. He let his palm rub up and down the length of her back, an unworded expression to tell her to relax.
Hye Yang’s body began to twitch. It looked like there was a battle going on between her mind and the shaman’s power. It did not take long for her face to make ugly expressions till her body stiffened.
"I have gotten into her mind, oh great one!" The shaman stated. His eyes were a glistening blue, matching the shine on Hye Yang’s eyes. The shaman’s brows furrowed as worry darkened in his gaze. He looked like someone who had seen something and was fazed by it.
"Tell us what it is." Ming Tao commanded, his tone soft.
"I. . ." The shaman spoke before taking a pause. "It would be best to come out of her, oh great one." He stated. "Her mind is a dark and twisted place and her heart is even worse." The shaman commented.
Ming Tao looked at the two of them in a dulled expression. "Make her speak." He said to the man. As long as there were no visual proof of Hye Yang’s deeds to them, he needed her to confess otherwise she would yell her way into making the beast people feel divided that this was all a ploy against her and although Ming Tao hated to admit this, his wife had not really made a good impression of herself to the other tribes. Maybe only to the lion clan and the cheetah clan but their beast world consisted of a whole lot more than those two clans. "And show it to us as she speaks." Ming Tao added. "Be it with dust or some magic, reveal the mind of the accused before us, Hye Yang, to everyone present here and end the doubt they all share."
