"What are you looking at? Is this something you should be watching? Your salary for this month will all be deducted." Snapping back to reality, he looked at a few servants nearby who were lining up as if they were all staring at the same angle at the second floor. Scolding them as he went, he walked upstairs, ignoring his wildly beating heart.

:"Charlotte, you still like me." The lingering kiss slowly descended, and the voice was as mesmerizing as a lullaby.

Every inch of her skin was soft and full of elasticity, with a faint floral fragrance - the scent of her favorite essential oil soap, mixed with a hint of her own aroma.

The large hand gently stroked her back from the hem of her clothes, not allowing her to retreat, not letting her resist........

:"Charlotte, it’s time for breakfast." Isaac Thompson’s voice at the door was full of energy, not at all like he had any heart disease.

Nora Thompson pushed Alexander King away, calming her breath, her face carrying a faint blush.:"You’ve crossed the line." Her voice was small, with a hint of reproach. This man was getting bolder and bolder.

:"I’ve been too abiding by the rules, Charlotte, you still owe me a wedding night." Alexander King had a resilient attitude that made Nora Thompson not want to say anything more. She threw on a morning coat and went to open the door.

:"Dad, you go to the dining room first, I’ll change and come down." Nora Thompson smiled and said good morning to Isaac Thompson. Isaac’s gaze went past Nora and glared fiercely at the man standing in the morning light behind her. A father’s thoughts are generally like this, worrying that his daughter might not marry well, or that her husband wouldn’t love her. But on the contrary, there’s jealousy and reluctance, along with anger. Isaac, being a rough man, was a typical example.

The breakfast at the Thompson Family was much more impressive than at the King Family. This was Alexander King’s impression during his few days at Nora’s place.

The dining table was filled with all kinds of food. Thompson Manor had three chefs, each showcasing their skills just so that Miss Thompson could eat more in the morning. In their hearts, she was the perfect woman - gentle, considerate, treating servants well, always speaking reasonably, even offering raises.

The breakfast was a blend of Chinese and Western styles, covering the long dining table, from steaming porridge to various small pancakes, fried dough sticks, finely chopped pickled vegetables, enticingly colored foie gras omelettes. Even more extravagant were the assorted Cantonese dim sum like steamed ribs, chicken feet, prawn dumplings, shumai, not to mention the usual Western breakfast items like juice, toasted bread, fragrant sausages, bacon, and smoked meat. Almost everything suitable for breakfast could be found on Nora’s dining table.

:"Charlotte, you didn’t get a proper holiday during the entire New Year. How about we take a few days off, and Dad can go have fun with you? You don’t like going abroad, so Dad can accompany you shopping in Sydney, or wherever you want to go?" Isaac Thompson watched his daughter eating, not even bothering to invite the son-in-law who came down with him. Anyway, this son-in-law never hesitated to make himself at home. Alexander King drank coffee and ate toast, thinking to himself, this old guy, is he trying to sabotage things? Wasn’t it him who insisted on having him marry his daughter? Now, he finally had something to look forward to, and he wanted to take Nora shopping. Damn, does he think he has no money?

However, Alexander King didn’t express any opinion. Nora was probably not even interested in going to Sydney.

:"Sure." Nora drank her porridge, picked up a small pancake, and ate it. It was completely out of his expectations that she agreed.:"Or maybe I should go with her. You might find the travel tough on your health." Alexander King sat up straight, looking like he was in excellent health.:"Besides, I’m very familiar with Sydney."

:"No need. You have so much to do." Nora slightly smiled, subtly rejecting him. She just wanted to avoid everything for a few days, hoping Alexander King would quickly go home. His presence was really unsettling her. Previously, she was at peace, but now, she felt like ripples were constantly stirred in her heart, subtle but incessant, causing turmoil. Some distance for a few days would definitely help.

Isaac Thompson completely ignored Alexander King’s words, instructing the housekeeper to book a flight while happily enjoying his breakfast. His favorite steamed ribs seemed particularly delicious today. What kind of world is this, where a father goes shopping with his daughter? What is this? Alexander King’s expression soured; it was obviously going to be an unpleasant day.

:"Go to sleep, hurry." Avery Jane looked at Joshua Hughes’s face, which indeed showed a bit of weariness, and pushed him towards the room.:"Have a good sleep this morning. You can go to the office at noon." Avery Jane was changing clothes while rushing out. The bodyguard had already prepared the car.
