Chapter 910 - 476: Who Gave You the Nerve to Approve Her Leave? (Part 3)
"Give me your ID number, I’ll book the flight and hotel. You won’t regret going out with me, I’ve been there twice," Emma looked at Avery Jane, seeing her intrigued, and her eyebrows lifted with delight.
In the Thompson Family garden, Nora sat in the courtyard, with a soft cushion placed on the delicate wicker chair. Many things had been spiraling out of control since that night. The spring breeze in the courtyard still carried a hint of coolness, blowing down the pink and white petals from the branches. Large patches of light filtered through the green branches, casting dappled shadows on her face as she gently closed her eyes.
"Charlotte, what are you thinking about?" Her thoughts were like those white petals dancing wildly in the sky, but they were interrupted by the man’s deep voice. Her breath seemed to skip a beat. She opened her clear eyes, and Alexander King stood directly in front of her, blocking the sunlight. When he was at the Thompson Family place, he always dressed casually—a thin grey long-sleeved shirt, beige casual pants, looking much younger than when he wore formal attire.
"Nothing." On a rare day with good sunlight, stealing a leisurely half-day, yet it was this man who disturbed the spring waters. Nora sighed helplessly in her heart.
Since that night, she truly didn’t know how to interact with him. She wanted the servant to tidy up the guest room for him to stay there.
"I’ve prepared a room for you; I’m not used to living together," Nora looked at him with a faintly confused gaze.
"Take back your words, I never heard them," The spring sunlight was gentle and not at all dazzling as it shone on the man’s handsome face, revealing no severe expression. Yet his tone was extremely solemn, like a powerful declaration, leaving her almost unable to catch her breath.
Indeed, she should go to Sydney. It’s reportedly one of the world’s most bustling places, and if the quiet world couldn’t allow her to think well, then she should go where it’s most lively and noisy...
Sydney does seem like a place full of stories, where everyone gathers.
In the top-floor office, an unprecedented storm was sweeping in fiercely.
Standing in front of the desk was the trembling manager, drenched in cold sweat, nearly soaking his shirt. Just for approving a leave request, that’s all, yet such a situation unfolded.
Joshua Hughes sat behind the desk, and in front of him lay a leave request, asking for four days off. There was no procedural issue with the request, except for the applicant’s name written boldly at the bottom—Avery Jane.
She had taken leave. She had smiled while bidding him goodbye in the parking lot that morning. But what kind of joke was this? She was playing hide and seek with him, instructing the female bodyguard beside her to buy snacks for her, and then sneaking away without even bringing luggage.
With a "bang," the folder was fiercely thrown onto the manager, his knuckles faintly white from exertion. It was not the first time he felt fear over the same matter, a sensation like a sharp blade, carving his heart, utterly destroying his cooled composure.
He slowly stood up from his seat, this suppressed feeling was often the precursor to a storm.
"Who gave you the guts to approve her leave?" Joshua’s deep eyes were sharp and full of murderous intent. His towering figure stood before the manager: "Pack your things and get out." He rasped, walking over to tightly grab the manager’s collar, lifting him roughly. "You’d better pray that I find her today."
Thinking of her already being far away from him, imagining her sitting on a plane in the sky, that plane seemed like her wings of freedom, ready to take her away from him, and his heart twisted in pain.
She had snuck away, yet again. No matter how thoroughly he prepared, she still slipped away unnoticed; it’s infuriating...
Is it necessary to bind her to himself? Just for a moment of carelessness, she vanished from his sight, this feeling was too terrible.
