After receiving the inheritance information of the Primordial Ancestral Ape, Mo Yu quickly suppressed the joy in his heart and turned to Han Yue to discuss the main matter at hand.
"Brother Han, the Myriad Beast Graveyard is about to arrive. Could you explain the situation regarding the fight for the Primordial Treasure Beast?"
Beside him, Cai Lin, Mang Lie, and the others also turned their gazes over. Their primary goal in heading to the Myriad Beast Graveyard was to search for clues about the Ancient Heaven Swallowing Python. Although the opportunity related to the Primordial Treasure Beast was tempting, it was still secondary.
Thus, they needed to understand the potential dangers in order to make a proper assessment.
Han Yue nodded and said, "Of course... The last time our Rhino Demon Clan entered the Divine Beast Origin, our experts discovered that we were not the only ones who had found the Primordial Treasure Beast."
"Which other clans?" Mang Lie asked.
"The Earth Leopard Clan and the Dark Shadow Tiger Clan," Han Yue replied.
Hearing this, Mo Yu narrowed his eyes slightly. These were two well-established and powerful clans. If they reached the pinnacle of their evolution, they could transform into Earth Rift Leopards and Dark Shadow Demon Tigers, both of which were super existences capable of rivaling supreme divine beasts.
However, throughout the countless ages, no one from either clan had been known to successfully evolve to that stage. This clearly showed just how difficult it was to achieve the ultimate evolution.
Even so, the Earth Leopard Clan and Dark Shadow Tiger Clan were renowned across the Great Thousand World and could not be underestimated.
"We had previously made a secret agreement with the Earth Leopard Clan. When the time comes, we might join forces to first drive away the Dark Shadow Tiger Clan. That way, we would each have a greater share of the treasures," Han Yue said with a smile.
Hearing this, Mo Yu furrowed his brows slightly and pondered, "The Earth Leopard Clan is cunning and ruthless. We must be extra cautious when working with them."
Han Yue nodded in agreement. He was not naive and fully understood how fragile such agreements could be. If something went wrong, the Earth Leopard Clan might turn on them.
That was precisely why he had invited Mo Yu and his group. If he were completely confident in his plan, he naturally wouldn’t want to share the spoils with others.
"Besides these clans that may compete for the Primordial Treasure Beast, there are also beast spirits in the area where the beast perished. These spirits have been corroded by death energy and will be extremely troublesome."
"Beast spirits? How many, and what level of strength?" Mo Yu asked, deep in thought. Beast spirits were essentially the remains of powerful spirit beasts that had fallen and been corrupted by death energy, turning them into zombie-like entities.
Despite this, they retained a portion of their former strength and were fearless in battle. Once entangled with them, escaping would be a difficult ordeal.
"There are quite a few of them, most at the Fifth or Sixth-Grade Supreme level. However, there are certainly stronger ones among them. If we’re not careful, we might pay a heavy price," Han Yue said solemnly.
Mo Yu and the others nodded. Though the Myriad Beast Graveyard was dangerous, they had no choice but to go.
After further discussions about their treasure-hunting strategies, they ceased talking and rested. As night fell, they entered their cultivation states once more.
Mo Yu, as usual, immersed himself in the insights of the Sacrificial Demon Fist, and he was on the verge of mastering its first form.
Thus, the night passed uneventfully.
At dawn the next day, the land became lively. In the distance, countless figures flickered as they either arrived at or departed from the trading hub, heading toward their respective destinations.
The entire world seemed to be brimming with vitality.
"Let’s move out as well," Han Yue said with a smile, looking at Mo Yu and the others.
The four of them nodded and did not hesitate. Their figures shot out from the stone tower, transforming into streaks of light as they sped toward the distant horizon. Behind them, Han Yue and his companions closely followed.
Over the next two days, they wasted no time. Traveling at full speed, they finally arrived at a lone peak just as the setting sun cast its golden glow over the land.
Their gazes turned to the distant landscape, and their expressions grew solemn.
In the vast mountains ahead, a dense, gray mist loomed like a sky-covering barrier. The haze was chillingly eerie, and faintly, ghostly wails could be heard echoing from within.
In midair, the vague outlines of countless tombs flickered, exuding an overwhelming aura of death.
They had finally arrived at The Myriad Beast Graveyard.
Gray, lifeless energy spread across the heavens and earth. The eerie cold seeped into everything, and even spiritual energy could not completely block it. A single strand of this energy entering the body would slowly erode one’s spiritual power over time.
"It truly lives up to its reputation as one of the most infamous dangerous grounds in the Divine Beast Origin," Mo Yu remarked.
"More than one supreme divine beast has perished in this Myriad Beast Graveyard..." Han Yue added, nodding.
Supreme divine beasts were among the strongest existences within the divine beast races, capable of rivaling Heavenly Supremes. Yet, even they had fallen within this tomb.
"The time is right. Let’s prepare to enter."
Han Yue glanced at the sky, then waved his sleeve. Several streaks of white light shot toward Mo Yu and the others. They caught them and saw that the white light transformed into a white flame, which landed on their shoulders.
The white flame flickered and formed a thin barrier of fire around them.
As the flames enveloped them, Mo Yu and his group immediately felt warmth spreading through their bodies. The invasive death energy was repelled.
"This is Death-Repelling Fire... It can ward off death energy and help us detect beast spirits corrupted by it. However, this fire won’t last long, so we’ll need to replenish it occasionally. I’ve already given you all the necessary materials for that."
Han Yue smiled. A white flame also flickered on his shoulder.
He then flicked his finger, sending a white leaf into the flame. The fire instantly grew brighter and stronger.
Mo Yu and the others nodded in understanding.
"Let’s go."
Seeing that everything was ready, Han Yue said no more. With a burst of speed, he transformed into a streak of light and shot toward the vast, deathly mist in the distance.
Mo Yu and the others immediately followed.
As they drew closer, Mo Yu could feel the increasingly frigid death energy saturating the air. The ground below was pitch black, resembling decayed soil.
"We’re entering!"
Han Yue’s voice rang out ahead, reminding them of the imminent danger. As they passed through the threshold of the Myriad Beast Graveyard, Mo Yu and the others instantly felt the temperature plummet. Even with the protection of the Death-Repelling Fire, the sheer intensity of the death energy made them shudder.
The surrounding grayish-white death aura had thickened to the point of obstructing vision. Under its erosion, Mo Yu noticed that even his spiritual perception was heavily suppressed, unable to extend far.
Some nearby mountain peaks had gradually turned an ashen white. Looking around, there was not the slightest trace of lush greenery—this place was like a land of death.
Roar!
From the distant depths, a chilling beastly roar echoed, devoid of any sign of life, as if it came from something already dead.
Swish! Swish!
Mo Yu and his group silently traversed the mountainous terrain, moving forward with utmost caution. Their bodies remained tense, eyes vigilant as they surveyed their surroundings.
Tap!
At the very front, Han Yue’s figure suddenly halted. Like a ghost, he landed atop a barren, gray-white giant tree, his gaze fixed ahead.
In the midair before them, several shadowy figures floated. Waves of eerie death aura continuously emanated from their bodies.
"Are those beast spirits?"
Mo Yu lifted his gaze, seeing those figures clad in gray-white, their hollow eyes devoid of intelligence. Their appearances varied—some even had half-human, half-beast forms.
However, without exception, they all radiated a powerful deathly aura. That kind of aura was fatal to anyone below the Fifth Grade Supreme; mere contact would mean death.
"Take them out quickly and crush their heads. Otherwise, they’ll keep clinging to us. Be swift as well; they might call for reinforcements. If we get surrounded, it’ll be trouble."
Han Yue whispered, then flicked his fingers, swiftly assigning each target.
Mo Yu and the others nodded. In the next instant, they shot out almost simultaneously, charging toward the gray-white figures floating in midair.
Mo Yu was the first to appear before one of the spectral figures. This being was covered in white fur, its gray-white body seemingly fragile yet tougher than metal.
The moment Mo Yu appeared, a gray light flickered in the creature’s hollow eyes. It suddenly lifted its head and locked onto him before its razor-sharp claws slashed toward his chest like a flash of lightning.
Its strike was vicious and precise, making Mo Yu raise an eyebrow. It seemed these beast spirits retained some of their combat instincts from when they were alive; otherwise, their attacks wouldn’t be this swift and cunning.
For an ordinary Sixth or Seventh Grade Supreme, encountering such an enemy would definitely be troublesome.
But unfortunately for it, Mo Yu was anything but ordinary.
As the beast spirit’s claw strike howled toward him, Mo Yu didn’t even bother dodging. Instead, he reached out and directly grabbed the razor-sharp claws. Those claws, sharp enough to rival divine weapons, failed to even scratch his skin.
Crack!
Mo Yu exerted force, instantly crushing the claw, then threw a punch. Space shattered as his fist landed squarely on the beast spirit’s head, producing a deep explosion. The creature’s skull burst open like a watermelon.
Yet, no blood splattered from the rupture—only a scattering of ashes. The beast spirit’s body froze before it plummeted lifelessly from midair.
Mo Yu didn’t spare it a second glance. Instead, he looked at his own fist. After the punch, strands of gray aura coiled around his hand—residual death energy from the spirit’s remains.
"These death auras are troublesome."
Mo Yu activated his spiritual energy, quickly expelling the invasive aura. The death energy in the Myriad Beast Graveyard was too dense—if it seeped into one’s body, the consequences would be severe.
Not long after Mo Yu dispatched his opponent, Han Yue, Cai Lin, and the others swiftly eliminated the remaining beast spirits. Without a word, they regrouped and followed Han Yue, quickly departing.
"The site where we found traces of the Treasure Beast’s demise is in the northwestern region of the Myriad Beast Graveyard. If we’re careful, we should arrive within half a day," Han Yue said as they hurried along.
"Could the Earth Leopard Clan or the Dark Shadow Tiger Clan have gotten there first?" Mo Yu asked.
"In terms of speed, they shouldn’t be that fast. Besides, the Treasure Beast’s resting place is fraught with peril—breaking through won’t be easy," Han Yue replied.
Hearing this, Mo Yu simply nodded without further questioning.
The group moved swiftly through the grayish Myriad Beast Graveyard, yet despite traversing countless ashen mountains, they could still see no end to the desolate land.
Along the way, they encountered numerous beast spirits. Fortunately, none were excessively powerful, so they managed to deal with them smoothly.
Time passed quickly as they journeyed.
No one knew how many hills they had crossed when Mo Yu finally noticed that Han Yue at the front was slowing down. The latter gestured for them to be cautious.
Mo Yu exchanged glances with the others, immediately raising his guard. It seemed they were finally nearing the Treasure Beast’s resting place.
Beyond the next ridge, what appeared before them was a gray-white forest. Death energy coiled within, and ghostly figures seemed to flicker between the trees, sending chills down one’s spine.
Mo Yu narrowed his eyes at the white forest, sensing faint spiritual energy fluctuations.
His gaze shifted toward Cai Lin and the others. They, too, had noticed and were on alert.
Han Yue fixed his stare on the forest before retrieving a whistle and blowing a nearly imperceptible soundwave.
The sound wave spread outward. Moments later, the leaves in the white forest rustled, and soon after, multiple figures cloaked in murderous intent emerged, appearing at the forest’s edge.
These were towering figures, their bodies riddled with scars that made them look even more menacing. Their crimson eyes locked onto Mo Yu’s group with hostility.
Clad in yellow robes, their presence exuded both the weight of the earth and the swiftness of the wind.
Clearly, these were the experts of the Earth Leopard Clan.
Mo Yu remained wary upon seeing them, his guard only increasing.
At the forefront of the Earth Leopard Clan experts was a man with a hideous scar across his face. His crimson eyes first swept over Han Yue’s group before suddenly narrowing upon Mo Yu and Cai Lin. His expression immediately darkened with hostility.
"Han Yue, they are not from the Rhino Demon Clan!"
