The Prince Who Challenged the Dragon (Part 3)

Victor’s expression remained completely calm.

The Fifth Prince’s terrified struggles meant nothing to him.

His foot never moved.

Instead...

The pressure gradually became heavier.

The ground beneath the prince continued sinking as countless cracks spread across the earth like a giant spiderweb.

Crunch...

Crunch...

The sound of bones straining echoed through the silent mountain.

The Fifth Prince gritted his teeth until blood seeped from the corners of his mouth.

Every muscle in his body trembled.

Every vein bulged.

He had already pushed his cultivation to its absolute limit.

Yet...

Victor’s foot remained as immovable as the heavens themselves.

No matter how desperately he resisted...

He couldn’t even make it budge by the slightest fraction.

Victor looked down at him with indifferent golden eyes.

Then he calmly shifted his gaze toward Adrian Valerius.

"City Lord Adrian..."

"I believe..."

"I deserve an explanation."

His tone wasn’t loud.

It wasn’t angry.

But everyone present could hear the unmistakable edge beneath those calm words.

Victor continued speaking.

"I have no interest in becoming anyone’s weapon."

"I don’t involve myself in disputes simply because others wish me to."

"If someone tries to use the Salvatore Family..."

"...or manipulate me into fighting their battles..."

"They’d better be prepared to pay the price."

His voice remained steady.

"But merely entertaining such thoughts..."

"...is already a grave offense."

Those words caused Adrian’s face to pale even further.

He hurriedly bowed.

"I understand, Patriarch Victor."

"I never intended to deceive you."

"I swear upon my cultivation that everything I say is the truth."

Before Adrian could continue...

Victor slowly increased the pressure beneath his foot once more.

CRUNCH!!

The sound echoed clearly across the entrance of Sovereign Blessed Land.

"PUFF—!"

The Fifth Prince violently coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Fragments of shattered ribs and internal organs mixed with the crimson spray before splattering across the broken earth.

His face twisted in unbearable agony.

His breathing became weaker with every passing second.

The once-arrogant prince...

Who had arrived proclaiming himself invincible...

Now resembled nothing more than a dying dog lying beneath Victor’s foot.

Seeing this scene...

Adrian’s already weak legs completely gave out.

The hand supporting himself against the wall suddenly slipped.

His eyes widened.

"Oh no..."

THUD!!

He dropped straight to his knees.

Unfortunately...

The Fifth Prince happened to be directly beneath him.

Adrian’s knees landed with astonishing accuracy.

Right between the prince’s legs.

"..."

For one brief moment...

Complete silence filled the mountain.

Then—

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"

The Fifth Prince released a scream so miserable that even the birds resting in the nearby forest flew away in fright.

His eyes nearly rolled back into his head.

His entire body convulsed violently.

He had already been on the verge of losing consciousness from Victor’s pressure.

Adrian’s accidental—or perhaps fatefully unfortunate—landing instantly jolted him fully awake.

Adrian himself froze.

He slowly looked down.

Then at the Fifth Prince’s distorted expression.

Then back toward Victor.

"I..."

"I really didn’t mean to do that..."

He awkwardly lifted himself away while wearing an expression that was almost apologetic.

After taking a deep breath to calm his racing heart, Adrian hurriedly cupped his fists toward Victor.

"Patriarch Victor!"

"Please allow me to explain everything."

"You deserve to know why I’ve come."

Without waiting another second, he began speaking as quickly as he could, afraid Victor’s patience would run out before he finished.

Adrian took several deep breaths before finally regaining his composure.

He bowed respectfully toward Victor.

"Patriarch Victor..."

"What I’m about to tell you concerns not only the Dawn Empire..."

"...but the fate of countless empires across the Three Thousand Great Domains."

Victor remained silent.

His expression didn’t change.

His foot continued pressing down on the Fifth Prince, who no longer had the strength to struggle.

Seeing that Victor was willing to listen, Adrian quickly began his explanation.

-----------------

Across the Nine Heavens...

The Ten Earths...

And the Three Thousand Great Domains...

Countless empires rose and fell throughout history.

Some flourished for millions of years.

Others disappeared overnight.

Yet among those endless empires...

Four stood above all others.

They were the supreme rulers of this region of the world.

The Heavenly Summerstone Empire.

The Heavenly Hidden Crown Empire.

The Heavenly Flamefrost Empire.

And the Heavenly Sacred Radiance Empire.

These Four Great Heavenly Empires possessed strength beyond imagination.

Their territories stretched across countless Great Domains.

Their foundations were so ancient that no one alive remembered when they had first been established.

Every major empire in this region acknowledged their authority.

The Dawn Empire...

And the Azure Sovereign Empire...

Were merely two among countless subordinate empires beneath their rule of Big dynasty and empire’s.

However...

Those subordinate empires weren’t all equal.

Only empires recognized by one of the Four Great Heavenly Empires were granted an Empire Title.

That title represented more than honor.

It represented legitimacy.

Protection.

Authority.

For example...

The "Dawn" in the Dawn Empire...

And the "Sovereign" in the Azure Sovereign Empire...

Were both Empire Titles personally granted by the Heavenly Empires.

As long as an empire possessed its Empire Title...

No neighboring empire could simply invade and erase it from existence.

Doing so would be equivalent to challenging the authority of the Heavenly Empire that had granted the title.

For countless years...
