The chibi assistant waved her tiny hand.

Then she suddenly paused.

The chibi said before snapping her fingers, causing a familiar panel he had seen one too many times appear in front of him.
But that didn’t mean he was in any way tired of ever seeing it. In fact it was one of the things he usually looked forward to seeing.

Alex leaned back against the couch and muttered under his breath.
"Not bad."
He couldn’t help smiling. Sleeping with Celine had given him quite a decent reward, that could offset her action of trying to kill him.
Well, if she did try again, then he’ll give her the same punishment... Hehe. Then his expression suddenly became suspicious.
"Wait a second."
The chibi assistant immediately noticed the change.

"Are you forgetting about something? You said you were going to show me my surprise package."

The chibi assistant snapped her fingers.

Alex immediately sat up straighter. His eyes shone with anticipation. Finally! This was the thing he had been waiting for.
Ever since the system had mentioned his surprise package after completing that mission, he had been wondering what it could possibly be.
Maybe it was some powerful new combat ability. Perhaps something that could massively increase his strength.
Or maybe... A powerful defensive ability?
Alex’s imagination immediately began running wild. The chibi assistant suddenly placed one tiny hand over her mouth and giggled.

A dramatic pause followed.
Alex narrowed his eyes.
"Don’t drag this out."
The chibi assistant’s grin widened.

Alex froze.
"...What?"

The chibi assistant proudly announced the name again.
[An ability that allows you to automatically understand, speak and read any language in existence!]
Alex stared at her.
For several seconds, he didn’t say anything. Then his expression slowly became strange.
"That’s my surprise package?"
[Yep!]
The chibi assistant winked.
[For conquering more wifey across the world and beyond!]
Alex’s mouth twitched.
"Seriously?"
[What?]
"Of all the things you could have given me, you gave me the ability to speak languages?"
The chibi assistant immediately puffed out her cheeks.
[Don’t underestimate it! Did you forget how you complained about spatial storage space when I first gave you that ability? Now you’re the one who is loving it the most]
Alex sighed.
"It was just that, I was expecting something that could help me fight."
He had been hoping for another powerful ability that could directly increase his combat strength. Instead, he had just received something that sounded like a glorified translation tool.
Alex shook his head.
"Universal Linguistic Mastery..."
He muttered the name again.
Then he suddenly paused. Before his expression slowly began to change.
"Wait."
The chibi assistant’s eyes immediately lit up.
[You get it now? Don’t you?]
Alex narrowed his eyes.
"Any language?"
[Every language.]
"Even languages I’ve never heard before?"
[Of course.]
"Ancient languages?"
[Yep.]
"Even Alien languages?"
The chibi assistant shrugged.
[Yes of course. What part did you not get about understanding any language or text in existence?]
Alex’s eyes widened slightly.
He slowly leaned back.
"That’s actually... Pretty damn useful."
The chibi assistant immediately pointed at him.
[I know, right?!]
Alex couldn’t help shaking his head.
At first, he had been disappointed because he had expected something more directly related to combat.
But the more he thought about it, the more useful the ability became.
He could travel anywhere in the world without worrying about language barriers. He could communicate with anyone, read ancient texts, understand secret documents, and maybe even communicate with races that spoke completely different languages, since the system had once talked about another world.
And if his future journey really did extend beyond Earth...
Well, the ability suddenly became even more ridiculous. Alex rubbed his chin.
"Okay, I admit it. This is actually amazing."
The chibi assistant placed her tiny hands on her hips.

Alex stared at her.

Alex decided it wasn’t worth arguing.
Instead, he leaned back against the couch.

Alex carefully looked through the entire status screen. When he reached the end, he nodded approvingly.

That was quite a good figure compared to the time when he basically had nothing. He then looked at his Desire Energy.

That part filled him with joy. At this point It wouldn’t take too long for him to completely fill the Desire Energy slot and level up to the next Rank.
His eyes eventually moved toward the Deathfrost Bloom skill.
Alex’s eyebrows rose slightly.
"Seven hundred and twenty shards."
He had previously been limited to six hundred, but the increase from his system rank had clearly pushed the limit even higher.
And then there was the seventy percent resistance to cold.
Alex couldn’t help nodding.
His body was becoming increasingly resistant to cold itself.
Still, there was something else he couldn’t stop thinking about. Alex pushed his head backward against the couch and stared at the ceiling.
"During our fight..." His eyes narrowed slightly. "Celine could control her Deathfrost Blooms."
The chibi assistant didn’t say anything.
Alex frowned.
"Can I do it too?"
The chibi assistant merely shrugged.
Alex stared at her.
"Seriously?"
She shrugged again.
Alex sighed and decided it was best to think about it himself.
Since he had Infinite Skill Absorption, he literally possessed an exact copy of Celine’s Deathfrost Bloom ability.
There was no reason why he shouldn’t eventually be able to do the exact same thing she did last night.
The only problem was figuring out how.
Celine had controlled her Deathfrost Blooms as naturally as moving her own limbs. She could change their direction, track him, and control a thousand of them simultaneously.
Alex had never tried anything like that.
"Maybe it’s something that requires practice."
He rubbed his chin.
"If I can control them the same way she does..."
A mischievous grin slowly appeared on his face.
That would be pretty damn useful.
He could launch hundreds of Deathfrost Blooms at an opponent and then control their movements however he wanted. Or he could even avoid wasting Deathfrost Blooms and use only one to slaughter an entire group of enemies.
Dodging them would become much harder.
Alex’s grin widened.
"Not impossible." He paused. "It’s just going to be difficult."
Perhaps he would need to visit the Training Realm once more.
The thought was tempting, especially since he now had several abilities that could use more practice to truly master them to their peaks.
But that could wait.
Alex glanced toward the time.
"Later."
He stood up from the couch.
"Right now, I need to take a bath and go see Nyx."
The chibi assistant immediately pinched her tiny nose.
[You better.]
She pointed accusingly at him.
[And don’t forget to thoroughly scrub your body until it’s spotless, do you hear me?]
Alex stared at her.
The chibi assistant narrowed her eyes.

"Are you seriously telling me how to bathe?"

Alex’s mouth twitched.
"I think I can handle that."

The chibi assistant waved her tiny hands.
[Now shoo!]
Alex shook his head with a wry smile and walked toward the stairs.
"You are becoming way too bossy."

Alex disappeared upstairs.
The moment he was gone, the chibi assistant’s eyes immediately lit up.
[Finally! He’s gone!]
She quickly floated toward the kitchen. A few moments later, she returned while carrying a bag of popcorn.
She placed it inside the microwave and pressed the button. Then she patiently waited. After some time, the microwave beeped.
The chibi assistant opened it and happily pulled out the freshly prepared popcorn before dumping everything into a large bowl.
She effortlessly lifted the bowl above her head and floated back toward the couch. After placing it beside herself, she grabbed the remote control.
The television immediately came to life. The chibi assistant’s eyes widened with excitement.
[Oh! It’s starting!]
She grabbed a handful of popcorn and stuffed it into her tiny mouth.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Alex stood beneath the steaming hot shower.
The warm water poured over his body as he closed his eyes and relaxed.
"Hmm..."
He couldn’t help humming a catchy song from the future. It was from a pretty good freestyle artist that would become very popular around 2019 or so.
For a while, Alex simply enjoyed the peaceful moment. After everything that had happened during the previous night, this was exactly what he needed.
Eventually, he finished bathing, changed into fresh clothes, and walked downstairs.
The moment he entered the living room, he immediately saw the chibi assistant sitting comfortably on the couch.
She was completely absorbed in her favorite soap opera.
Alex raised an eyebrow.
"Let’s go."
The chibi assistant didn’t even look at him.
[Wait.]
Alex frowned.
"Wait for what?"
[Can’t we just go later or something?]
She pointed at the television.
[This is the good part and I don’t want to miss it!]
Alex stared at her.
"System."
The chibi assistant slowly turned around, and spotted Alex crossing his arms.
"Let’s go."
The chibi assistant pouted.
[Fine!]
She reluctantly waved her tiny hand.
[But I’m missing the best part because of you.]
"You’ll survive."
[Hmph!]
The chibi assistant disappeared back into his mind.
Alex shook his head.
"That little thing..."
He then left the mansion.
It wasn’t long before Alex finally arrived at the gates of another large mansion.
He stopped for a moment.
This was the very first mansion he had ever visited when he initially got called by Nyx.
The other mansion where Nyx and the others had previously been staying had been completely trashed during the chaos.
Fortunately, it had already been repaired by now.
However, Alex had discovered a couple of weeks ago that Nyx and the others were currently staying here instead.
Alex looked at the familiar gates.
He hadn’t exactly brought his car here and had to use his super speed to get here. After all, he no longer had one.
That feisty little woman had completely destroyed his precious Lamborghini Murciélago. One of the closest things to his heart apart from his loved ones, and money, and system.
Alex couldn’t help sighing at the thought.
"That damn Celine."
He shook his head before walking toward the gates. It was time to go see Nyx.
