Chapter 4708: The Former Expedition Team
The sword light was fierce, piercing through space and striking Lin Moyu instantly.

A massive force exploded on impact, and ice and fire alternated hundreds of times in an instant, each burst releasing destructive power. Lin Moyu was knocked back by the sword light, but he wasnât injured the force only pushed him away.
Once he steadied himself, ice and fire flashed again, and that opponent appeared before him.
With a flash, the broken sword erupted again like lightning.
Lin Moyu was knocked away once more, while his enemy moved fast enough to almost teleport pursuing and attacking relentlessly.
It looked like Lin Moyu was being completely suppressed, flung about the void with no chance to fight back, but only he knew there was no real threat.
The opponent was indeed swift and could weave through ice and fire in an instant.
This was their home turf; the enemy had merged with the world, becoming one with the ice and fire.
But the strength wasnât enough not enough to harm his body or soul.
The enemy attacked endlessly, blended into the world and could keep fighting forever without worrying about exhaustion, battling for billions of years if needed.
"Enough!" Lin Moyu snapped, firing a punch to meet the sword light.
The blast sent both of them flying back as power collided violently.
"Utterly undying!"
Lin Moyuâs power surged, rising severalfold as his body and soul entered an immortal state.
His opponent appeared again, sword flaring but Lin Moyu struck even harder, smashing the sword light and destroying the opponentâs already broken body.
This punch shattered much of the world itself, clearing away the ice and fire for a rare moment of peace.
He muttered, "If Iâm not mistaken, this guy should be from an old expedition team."
Hongmeng Gem nodded, "Not sure which worldâs expedition team he died here or didnât die completely, manipulated by world laws into this state."
These guys had died long ago the bodies remained, but there was no soul, just puppets controlled by rules.
Lin Moyu said, "Looks like this world is really ancient, destroyed way before the Great Catastrophe."
After the Catastrophe, there were no more expedition teams, so these must have come here before it happened.
If the world hadnât been a ruin then, their attackers wouldnât have been the world itself but powerful beings within it.
So, this world was very old.
A seven cycle world lasts a long time, surviving seven calamities over hundreds of billions of years before breaking down.
Even after ruin, true destruction takes even longer, and as a world remnant, who knows how many ages it persisted it could be over a trillion years.
Compared to that, the Chaos Wasteland really was a newborn world.
Hongmeng Gem commented, "Seven cycle worlds, even after ruin, persist far longer than most five cycle worlds; sometimes, the time from birth to ruin to dust for a five cycle world is much shorter than a seven cycle remnant."
"There could be many such rule puppets inside, and if one was super strong before dying, it might even give you trouble."
Lin Moyu replied, "No problem arenât you here to smash them?"
Hongmeng Gem grumbled, "Didnât you say not to rely on me?"
Lin Moyu shook his head, "This is another world efficiency matters, so saving time is fine."
Hongmeng Gem just sighed, "Fine. Whatever you say."
He wouldnât accuse Lin Moyu of being inconsistent if youâre the master, youâre always right.
Lin Moyu reasoned that if possible, heâd solve things himself, but sometimes itâs just faster to use help especially in unsafe seven cycle worlds.
He didnât intend to waste time here; the great disaster in Chaos Wasteland still needed his attention.
So, he decisively wielded the Calamity Scepter.
Bang!
Lin Moyu left his undying state, shattering completely, and violet light flickered.
Once reborn, Lin Moyu seized the Calamity Scepter and dashed toward the worldâs core.
Soon, another dark figure appeared a former expedition team member, killed here and turned into a rule puppet.
No soul, controlled by world laws his undead eye couldnât detect them beforehand.
This time, the puppet wielded a broken blade, and as Lin Moyu approached, he lunged forcefully.
Blade light howled with ice and fire, striking instantly.
Their attacks followed world laws, faster than lightning and impossible to dodge.
"Get lost!" Lin Moyu yelled, swinging the Calamity Scepter...
A massive phantom appeared in the void, the Scepter magnified a hundred times, sweeping across the space.
Everything in its path world fragment and ice fire shattered and vanished.
The puppet was wiped away like tofu, dissolving without a trace.
This was Lin Moyuâs first time using soul power to activate the Scepter in combat just scratching the surface of its power, but far stronger than before.
In the past, he had to attack face to face, but now he could strike from afar thereâs a difference between whacking someone and "whacking" someone.
Hongmeng Gem chuckled, "How is it? Pretty good, right?"
Lin Moyu replied, "Not bad, but still not enough."
Hongmeng Gem said, "If you become a Supreme, youâll get even stronger; but to fully unleash my power, you need to reach the Absolute Peak."
Lin Moyu mused, "Absolute Peak might not be enough."
The Scepter was beyond the world, with Absolute Peak only equal to the world, not truly transcending it so even Supremes couldnât truly wield its full power.
Besides, it wasnât just for smacking people; there had to be a deeper use even Hongmeng Gem wasnât sure.
Lin Moyu, Scepter in hand, swept through enemies here there were no friends, only foes, and heâd never hit a wrong target.
The closer he got to the worldâs core, the more expedition team members appeared; theyâd all come searching, but fell before ever reaching the heart.
Lin Moyu smashed his way through with the Scepter, regardless of former strength or current prowess everyone was shattered.
Unhindered, Lin Moyu finally saw the worldâs core:
A seven story pagoda woven of ice and fire, glowing enchantingly in the void, with plenty of old expedition team members nearby.
Lin Moyu stayed on guard those whoâd reached the heart still hadnât survived, suggesting this core was anything but simple.
Otherwise, those powerful explorers wouldnât have died here.
His arrival broke the calm all the old expedition team members attacked in unison.
"Die!"
Lin Moyu raised the Calamity Scepter and charged forward without hesitation...
