Chapter 1545 - 782: Gu Huaichun Arrives (Part 3)

Four unknown new actors suddenly became incredibly famous.

After that, everyone knew Zhou Yun and Gu Huaichun were friends, but they never worked together again.

Zhou Yun and Yin Zhou even filmed "Falling Leaves" together.

Gu Huaichun still looked the same as three years ago, still carrying that arrogant expression.

Since his debut, Gu Huaichun was famously known for his sullen face.

When Zhou Yun saw him, he called out in surprise and ran over.

Gu Huaichun smiled too.

"Why do you look like you’ve gained a bit more weight than before?"

Zhou Yun said, "Maybe the food is too good here while filming."

Gu Huaichun said, "Didn’t you say you usually cook your own meals? What’s for dinner tonight?"

Zhou Yun said, "What do you want to eat? I’ve got some preserved meat, planning to stir-fry it and make a chicken soup for you. Add some green vegetables as well."

Gu Huaichun laughed and nodded, saying, "Sure, it’s just the two of us eating? That’s enough."

Zhou Yun said, "You came a long way, it should be a bit more sumptuous."

"Why be so polite?" Gu Huaichun carried his bag on one shoulder, "You live in this courtyard?"

He glanced at the courtyard behind Zhou Yun.

The courtyard was only blocked by a low wall, standing outside, one could see clearly what the inside looked like.

Zhou Yun nodded.

Gu Huaichun looked around the courtyard curiously, saying, "Looks pretty good."

"I arranged it all myself," Zhou Yun said, "Come in, don’t just stand outside."

Gu Huaichun made a sound and followed Zhou Yun inside.

It wasn’t until then that Gu Huaichun noticed someone with a camera following them.

"Hmm? What’s being filmed here? A documentary?" Gu Huaichun pointed at the lens and asked.

Zhou Yun smiled but didn’t say much, just nodded.

Usually, when filming, the production team has dedicated photographers for making-of and behind-the-scenes footage.

It’s all used for promotion.

Gu Huaichun didn’t think much of it.

He followed Zhou Yun into the courtyard.

"It was quite a hassle getting here, an eight o’clock flight in the morning and only arrived now," Gu Huaichun said, "Slept the whole day, I guess I won’t be able to sleep tonight."

"No worries, if you can’t sleep, we can chat; it’s been a while since we last saw each other," Zhou Yun said, "Want a drink?"

Gu Huaichun nodded, "Sure."

Gu Huaichun walked to the door, turned around for a look, and realized there was no one else in the courtyard except the photographer following them.

It was only then that Gu Huaichun sensed something was off.

"Where’s the director and the others?"

Zhou Yun said, "Them? They’re inside."

Following Zhou Yun, Gu Huaichun went into the house, and as soon as he stepped through the door, he heard Wen Bing shout "Cut".

Gu Huaichun looked perplexed.

"Cut?"

Wen Bing came out of one of the rooms.

He came to them, spread his arms, and hugged Gu Huaichun.

"Welcome."

Gu Huaichun said, "Hello, director. Um, just now..."

Wen Bing patted his shoulder, saying, "I hadn’t informed you earlier, we were filming just now. Since there’s a scene of your visit needed in the film, we thought might as well shoot the bit where you get off the car."

Gu Huaichun glanced at Wen Bing in surprise, then at Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun smiled and said, "Don’t ask me, I’m just following the director’s commands."

Gu Huaichun said, "Well... just now I didn’t manage my expressions whatsoever."

Wen Bing said, "No need, it was great, pleasing to the eye."

Gu Huaichun was half-believing it, "Really?"

Wen Bing invited Gu Huaichun to directly watch the footage Yi Zhe had shot at the monitor station.

Actually, it wasn’t just that one section filmed by Yi Zhe; there were crane shots and other photographers capturing from different perspectives.

Gu Huaichun looked at himself in the footage, appearing relaxed, not in a performance mode at all.

But whether talking or laughing, it all felt very natural.

The camera captured a beautiful scene.

Under natural light, without makeup, and hair untouched, it was his rawest appearance ever captured on film.

Yet the visuals were very comfortable.

Upon another glance, Gu Huaichun noticed Zhou Yun only had light makeup on.

So, when the two appeared in the same frame, there wasn’t much of a difference.

Wen Bing said, "Because your time with us is short, I feared I couldn’t explain what I wanted effectively, so I thought of this method. What I desire from this film is this natural, genuine condition; the less performance elements, the better."
