Chapter 461 - 191: Impact

Sister Huan whipped her head forward, staring intently at the figure that had just stood up.

The bullet had clearly hit his head, yet there wasn’t even a scratch. A level of Horizontal Training like that sent a chill down her spine.

And...

She looked at the mangled corpse on the ground. Although she deeply disliked Jiang Huowang and hated his insubordination, she had to acknowledge his strength.

But Chen Chuan had killed him so easily, in a mere two moves.

Jiang Huowang’s regenerative abilities were strong, but now his head had been smashed to a pulp. There was no way he was getting up from that.

The assault team members were also watching in shock. Jiang Huowang was known for being unpredictable, but this was beyond shocking—no one could even process what had happened.

They were supposed to use Jiang Huowang to tie up Chen Chuan, or at the very least, to drain his stamina. But now he was gone. What were they supposed to do?

For a moment, no one moved. They were all waiting for new orders through the Realm Token, telling them what to do next.

Sister Huan knew that things couldn’t possibly go exactly according to plan—it was impossible to account for every factor. But she had never expected this outcome.

Her opponent’s strength had far exceeded their initial estimates, surpassing the level they had anticipated.

’Do we retreat?’

’Or do we press on?’

’But if we retreat... given the power and speed Chen Chuan just displayed, we’d have to leave a few people behind to cover our escape. They’d be sacrificing themselves for nothing. And even then, could the rest of us really get away?’

’Besides, I’ve poured most of the team’s funds into this battle, and even borrowed a lot more. If the mission fails, Ferris Wheel won’t protect us. Even if we retreat, where could we possibly run?’

That left only one option.

She gritted her teeth and sent a message through her Realm Token, "Everyone, Plan Three! Attack!"

After speaking, she leaped down from the pillar. She had originally planned to strike at a critical moment, seizing the opportunity to land a fatal blow. But the plan was in shambles, so she had no choice but to join the battle early.

Upon receiving the order, the team members immediately began moving to their rehearsed positions. The ones responsible for the main assault were already rushing toward him.

Team combat was different from a one-on-one duel. It allowed them to leverage their collective strength, so they hadn’t completely lost hope. Once they started moving, they naturally fell into their rhythm.

Chen Chuan watched the men charging at him. The use of the special drug had given him a significant boost. At his level of strength, every small improvement was a massive leap forward.

Compared to two months ago, the power he could now unleash was on a whole other level.

In his eyes, everyone’s movements slowed down. Even the Third Limit Fighters coming toward him—he could see their trajectories with perfect clarity.

He raised a hand, clenched his five fingers into a fist, and white steam began to rise from his body.

In a real battle, being just a fraction faster means crossing the line between life and death!

Everyone stared at him, but in the next instant, he suddenly vanished from his spot.

BOOM! A loud crash erupted from the side.

A team member, who had leaped into mid-air to attack Chen Chuan, was brutally slammed down to the ground. The impact created a ring of cracks in the pavement. He lay amidst the rubble, his spine visibly twisted and broken, clearly out of the fight.

Before anyone could react, another thunderous crash echoed from nearby. A second charging team member had been smashed against the guardrail of the Celestial Bridge.

Chen Chuan stood before him, one hand pressed against his chest. The man’s back was nearly embedded in the railing, and he appeared to have lost consciousness.

The remaining members of the assault team looked on in terror. The fighting spirit that had just been ignited in them was once again doused with cold water.

Their team’s individual combat strength wasn’t exceptional, but their key was coordination. Once they worked together, they could defeat opponents who were, by normal standards, much stronger.

But that required an opponent they could actually pin down and attack. They couldn’t even see the man’s movements, so coordination was impossible. An encirclement was out of the question.

The Third Limit Fighter with the gun was now drenched in a cold sweat.

Although he couldn’t track Chen Chuan’s movements either, his skills allowed him to hit targets by feel alone, without needing to aim. Yet after firing two shots in pursuit of Chen Chuan, he found they had vanished without a trace, having no effect whatsoever.

Just then, the hair on his body stood on end. He abruptly swung his gun toward a certain spot, but at that moment, he felt a hand rest on his head.

"Hah!" A sharp cry came from nearby.

Chen Chuan glanced over and saw Sister Huan charging at him, her Long Spikes thrusting in his direction. It looked as if they would pierce him in the next moment.

This one seemed able to barely keep up with his movements. He ignored the gunman and flicked his Snow Monarch Blade outward.

Sister Huan changed her move in time, raising her twin spikes to parry.

She didn’t need to hit Chen Chuan; she just had to rescue her teammate in time.

However, the moment they collided, a tyrannical Power surged from the Long Blade. The force was so overwhelming she almost lost control of her body. It threw her backward, and only after an aerial flip was she able to dissipate its momentum completely.

Just then, she looked up and noticed that Chen Chuan hadn’t even drawn his blade from its Sword Scabbard.

’Is it because he doesn’t need to...?’

Her gaze shifted again, looking behind Chen Chuan. The Fighter with the gun was still standing there. He’d been saved, but instead of taking the opportunity to retreat, he remained frozen in place.

She couldn’t help but feel a flash of anger at the sight.

But just as that thought surfaced, there was a soft CRACK. Before everyone’s horrified eyes, the gunman’s head split open. A searing heat wafted out from within, but his body remained standing, still holding the gun.

The last remaining members of the assault team involuntarily froze.

In truth, they had little fighting spirit left. They had originally been a seven-person squad, eight including Jiang Huowang. Now, they had already lost half their members.

Before coming here, their pre-drafted plan had given them an eighty percent chance of success within ten minutes. If they exceeded ten minutes, that chance would immediately drop to less than fifty percent, and would continue to fall the longer it took.

In reality, the target was nothing like what the plan had assumed. They had walked into a one-sided slaughter. From the start of the engagement until now, only about two minutes had passed. Forget ten minutes—they might not even last five.

Sister Huan realized this as well. But since she had decided to charge in and fight, she had already cast aside all distracting thoughts. Only one objective remained: kill the target.

She stared at Chen Chuan and spoke into her Realm Token, "Plan Four."

The remaining three members looked at each other, then each used their tongue to crush a tooth. The stimulant drug within quickly seeped into their bodies.

These drugs overdrafted their potential, continuously generating Essence Blood to grant them a one-time burst of immense combat power. Once the effects wore off, they would enter a prolonged period of weakness, and would likely have no hope of escaping alive.

Chen Chuan didn’t attack while they were communicating. But that didn’t mean he was doing nothing. He had released his Domain, spreading it to cover the remaining four people.

Through the contact and feedback from his Domain, he instantly grasped the general condition and characteristics of each person.

At that moment, he turned his head and looked toward a tall, burly figure among them.

Sister Huan suddenly sensed danger and hastily warned, "Fourth Brother!"

Before the words could leave her mouth, Chen Chuan had already vanished. He instantly reappeared in front of the burly team member and threw a kick. This time, however, his opponent wasn’t completely helpless like before. A thick arm shot up, using its leather Arm Guard to block the attack with a THUD.

The man’s crimson eyes stared at Chen Chuan as if they were spitting fire. He raised an axe in his other hand, attempting to chop down at his target, but although he held the weapon high, it seemed he couldn’t bring it down.

Chen Chuan’s kick had been blocked, but its immense force inevitably broke his stance. Unable to find his footing, he couldn’t bring any power into his arms.

And in that instant, Chen Chuan’s leg snapped out again, kicking him hard in the cheek!

It was a double kick!

With a heavy THUD, the burly man’s jaw and all his teeth shattered. His entire body flew sideways in the direction of the kick. While still in mid-air, his eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness completely, his ruined cheek finally slamming into the ground.

Chen Chuan, however, held his kicking posture, perfectly stable.

Even though his opponent had taken the drug, he wasn’t used to the sudden surge in power and speed. Before he could fully adapt, it only created more openings.

At this moment, a continuous volley of gunfire erupted from behind. It was Sister Huan, ordering her nearby people to ignore the security forces and open fire on Chen Chuan.

Even if ordinary bullets posed little threat to him, they could still serve as a distraction and a hindrance.

As the volley of gunfire began, Sister Huan was the first to charge forward.

She couldn’t let Chen Chuan pick off her team members one by one like this. She had to rush in to buy them time to adapt to their new strength and create an opportunity for them to join the battle.

She didn’t run in a straight line. Instead, she used the power of her toned legs to move in a zigzag pattern, constantly changing her position. To those watching from behind, her rapidly moving figure almost left an afterimage.

Facing the gunfire, Chen Chuan didn’t dodge. He simply raised a hand slightly to shield his face, letting the bullets plink off his Protective Clothing as he watched Sister Huan’s figure through the gaps between his fingers.

As she veered to one side, he suddenly took a step in that direction. His figure blurred, crossing over ten meters in an instant to intercept her path. He brought his blade down in a chopping slash—and the sheathed Snow Monarch Blade let out a fierce roar as it tore through the air!
