After chatting with the members of the Murong Clan, Murong Xianyin and Situ Lingxi left the clan.

Murong Xianyin let out a sigh of relief. "Although Sister-in-law Lingshan hasn’t decided on her support, we’ve at least secured your grandfather’s support."

"Haha," Situ Lingxi laughed softly. "Grandpa Murong never liked the Sun Clan, and he repeatedly persuaded me to leave Sun Weitian, so I’m not surprised by the outcome. Although Aunt Lingshan hasn’t made a decision yet, I believe she will support us after she meets Tang Xiao later."

Murong Xianyin also believed that, but she preferred to wait for them to meet first. "Do you want to go to the Sun Clan to explain Sun Weitian’s situation?"

"To be honest, Mother, I don’t want to visit the Sun Clan again," Situ Lingxi sighed. "However, I think I should go there to explain everything so they can send their subordinates into the forest to look for Sun Weitian."

Murong Xianyin believed that visiting the Sun Clan was for the best. As for her daughter’s relationship with Tang Xiao, they should keep it under wraps for the time being. "I will accompany you to meet them."

Before long, the two women arrived at the Sun Clan, and they were greeted by Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya.

After they sat down together in the main hall, Situ Lingxi immediately spoke to them. "Uncle Sun and Aunt Ning, I came here to inform you both about Sun Weitian."

Sun Yanzhi had a bad feeling as soon as Situ Lingxi said that, coupled with his father’s previous suspicions. He was sure that something had happened to Sun Weitian in the forest, so his son didn’t return with her.

"Did something happen to my son, Lingxi?" Ning Zhiya asked in a serious tone.

"Aunt Ning, I had a big fight with Sun Weitian before we entered the forest."

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya weren’t surprised to hear this from Situ Lingxi, as she and their son had quarreled far too often—and women were always the root cause of their arguments. Their son was a womanizer, and their future daughter-in-law was a notoriously jealous one.

"When we arrived in the forest, we met a woman, and Sun Weitian was attracted to her." Situ Lingxi observed their expressions before continuing. "I ordered my two bodyguards to get rid of that woman, but all the trap formations in the forest blocked them, and they were unable to capture her."

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya knew that Situ Lingxi would take extreme measures whenever she faced issues involving Sun Weitian; she had even destroyed several clans simply because the women from those clans had intimate relationships with him.

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya stole glances at Murong Xianyin, who was sighing repeatedly, wearing a look of helplessness. If her daughter were not a member of the Situ and Murong Clan, and if the two clans had no connection to Situ Lingshan, people would surely have killed her long ago.

Ning Zhiya inwardly sighed. "Then?"

"That woman fell into a teleportation formation trap, and she was sent to a random area. Sun Weitian intended to chase after her, but I managed to stop him." Situ Lingxi pretended to put on a furious look before continuing. "At first, everything went smoothly, and nothing serious happened that day. "What?" Sun Yanzhi shouted as he stood up, but Ning Zhiya hurriedly asked him to calm down. "Then?"

Situ Lingxi released a helpless sigh. "I was furious, and I followed him into the teleportation formation trap. However, we were separated since that incident, and I almost died in the forest because of his stupidity."

"What do you mean by that, Lingxi?" Sun Yanzhi asked with a frown.

Situ Lingxi took out a device and displayed her memories of being trapped between two powerful beasts.

"The Purple Thunder Bear and the Azure Wind Wolf!" Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya screamed in shock because their strength was far above Situ Lingxi’s.

Murong Xianyin frowned as she looked at her daughter; Situ Lingxi had not told her or their family about the incident before.

The three of them were even more shocked when they saw the Emerald Scale Python appear behind Situ Lingxi. They knew that the python was one of the three overlords of the forest.

The next second, they saw the Emerald Scale Python wrap its tail around Situ Ling’s waist, but it didn’t eat her, and it placed her on its head.

Murong Xianyin turned to her daughter. "Why didn’t you tell me about that incident?"

"Aren’t I still alive, Mother?" Murong Xianyin’s face darkened, and she shot Situ Lingxi a furious glare, causing her to break out in cold sweat. "I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to hide it from you, and I didn’t want to worry you."

Murong Xianyin warned her in a stern tone. "If you dare to hide something like that from me again, I’ll lock you in your room for a few months."

"Don’t worry; I will never do it again." Situ Lingxi pouted. "That incident was Sun Weitian’s fault! If he hadn’t gone after that woman, I would never have been caught in that kind of situation."

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya exchanged glances and smiled bitterly. They didn’t dare blame Situ Lingxi, and their son was the one who caused her to be caught in such a life-and-death situation.

They returned their gaze to the images and saw the Emerald Scale Python kill the two beasts before carrying Situ Lingxi away from the area. Some time later, they saw the python carry her into its nest, and it let her go.

Situ Lingxi turned off the device and spoke again. "If Sun Weitian hadn’t gone after that woman, I wouldn’t have been trapped in a life-or-death situation. Fortunately, the goddess of luck was on my side; otherwise, I would have died at the hands of those beasts."

"I must apologize to you for what happened to your daughter, Sister Xianyin." Ning Zhiya had no choice but to apologize to them. After all, the Situ Clan’s status was higher than the Sun Clan’s because Situ Lingshan was the queen of the Taixu Kingdom.

Murong Xianyin looked at Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya with a serious look. "All this time, I’ve always tolerated Sun Weitian’s womanizing behavior because my daughter loves him so much, but I never expected that he would put my daughter in a life-and-death situation."

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya opened their mouths, but they were at a loss for words to refute Murong Xianyin.

"Since my daughter has returned safely, I won’t prolong this matter. However, I will no longer tolerate your son’s behavior, and I want them to end their relationship once and for all."

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya glanced at Situ Lingxi, who pretended to have a troubled expression. She even clenched her fists and clutched her dress, but she didn’t argue with her mother.

Ning Zhiya nodded to her husband before speaking to Murong Xianyin. "That incident was indeed our son’s fault, so we accept your decision to end their relationship, Sister Xianyin. However, I hope Lingxi will be willing to tell us about our son’s whereabouts, and we also want to know about his situation."

"Unfortunately, I haven’t seen Sun Weitian again since what happened that day, Aunt Ning." Ning Zhiya didn’t simply believe Situ Lingxi. "I know you don’t believe me, but I have many witnesses to the matter. After I left the Emerald Scale Python’s nest, I met two other cultivators, and I joined their group."

"Elder Duanmu Jingjing." Situ Lingxi didn’t mention Tantai Lingyan because she was a new elder, but she knew that the former had a high reputation.

Sun Yanzhi and Ning Zhiya knew about Duanmu Jingjing, but they also knew she didn’t like to have anything to do with any clan, so they couldn’t possibly ask her about the matter.
