"I’ve already cut off all ties with her, so I haven’t been keeping track." Father Carter was so busy every day he didn’t even go on twitter, so he had no idea what had been going on with Jillian recently.

But since his old friend had gone out of his way to call, and was asking about Jillian again, Father Carter couldn’t help thinking, could it be that Jillian has done something bad again?

Since the call had already come through to him, Father Carter at least had to ask symbolically, "What has she done again?"

Father Carter said, "You know how she is, she really can’t be disciplined. She took medicine on her own and deliberately fell to cause a miscarriage, and then even tried to pin it on my biological daughter. Even just for my biological daughter’s sake, I really can’t control her anymore."

"Don’t get too worked up, it’s not that she’s done something bad again." Father Carter’s old friend said, "Recently she’s been coming to the base entrance all the time, sometimes staying there for half a day. She always comes by herself, driving over alone. I heard from the guards on duty that she might have some mental problems."

"Some mental problems?" Father Carter was stunned when he heard that. "What is she doing at the base entrance? Joseph Shaw has already been transferred. Who is she going to the base to look for?"

"She’s looking for Joseph Shaw." Father Carter’s old friend sighed. "Sometimes when she comes, she’s holding a human-shaped doll in her hand. It’s like she’s treating that doll as her child, holding the doll while she tells the guards on duty that she’s brought the child to look for the child’s daddy, says the child’s daddy hasn’t come home to accompany her and the child for many days."

"She doesn’t actually insist on going into the base, she just says she wants to see Joseph Shaw, asks the guards on duty to help pass on a message to Joseph Shaw, tell him not to work too hard, to take good care of his own body. She says she’ll take good care of the child, so he can focus on his work at the base and not worry about things in the house, she’ll be in the house taking care of the child, waiting for him to come home and keep her and the child company when he has time."

Father Carter’s old friend sighed as he spoke. "She often just sits at the base entrance holding the child like that for half a day, a whole day. Sometimes she’ll suddenly throw the doll away and say she has to go filming, that her fans are still waiting for her to act in new drama, then she’ll ask the guards on duty if they want her autograph. The guards say no, but she still forces it on them. And the name she signs isn’t her own, it’s Jane Sampson’s."

"She just leaves the doll there and drives off, muttering under her breath. One moment she’s saying her Brother, daddy and mommy and grandparents are all waiting for her at home; the next she’s saying Sister Tin is looking for her. There was a time she even came to the base entrance at midnight looking for the doll. The guard gave her back the doll she’d abandoned there in the daytime, and she even thanked him, said she’d been busy all day, that Joseph Shaw had spent the whole day taking care of the child and must be exhausted, asked him to tell Joseph Shaw to get some rest earlier, then she took the doll and drove off again."

"We’re guessing that sometimes Jillian sees herself as Jane Sampson, and sometimes she sees the doll as the child she miscarried, as if Joseph Shaw were still at the base and she herself hadn’t become a divorcee yet." Father Carter’s old friend really couldn’t put that feeling into words.

He truly had watched Jillian grow up, but he had also watched her step by step into the abyss, turning her own path into a dead end.

Seeing Jillian in this crazy, deranged state now, he honestly felt a bit sad.

"Driving around like this every day in her condition isn’t safe. I was thinking, shouldn’t you send her to the hospital and find a doctor to take a look at her?"
