Chapter 2555 - 2563: Did You Hear That
This day by day, every time I open Twitter, it’s all about Jillian Carter. After two or three days, Jane Sampson didn’t even open Twitter anymore.
Jillian Carter is now notoriously famous, so she doesn’t need to buy hot search spots, yet she’s consistently on the hot search list every day, her notoriety reaching astonishing levels.
Back when she used to hype herself up daily, buying hot search spots and popularity, she never achieved this level of recognition.
Jane Sampson glanced at Jillian Carter’s updates but didn’t pay them much attention. She focused entirely on filming with the crew, and five days later, her script officially wrapped up filming.
Jane Sampson treated the film crew’s main creators and key personnel to a wrap-up meal, then booked a flight, and headed back to the airport at midnight.
After the landing, Jane Sampson was so sleepy her eyelids kept fighting to stay open.
"You could have come back tomorrow, yet you insisted on rushing back overnight. Look how tired you are now," Coco Edwards nagged from boarding the plane until they disembarked. "You filmed night scenes last night without resting properly, and tonight again you haven’t rested well. Are you planning to live like an immortal?"
"If you’re going to live like an immortal, then so be it, but you’re rushing back overnight. You’re not even allowing me to tell Mr. Black. If Mr. Black finds out afterward, do you think he’d deduct my bonus?" Coco Edwards stared at Jane Sampson resentfully before asking, "Are you planning to meet Mr. Black overnight, or go home to rest first?"
"It’s too late, I’ll go rest first." Jane Sampson hugged Coco Edwards, "Stop nagging, you’ve been at it all the way, even Monk Tang wasn’t as persistent."
"Even my nagging hasn’t made you behave," Coco Edwards’s complaints rose another level.
"You’re not allowed to tell James I’m back! Not even tomorrow! I want to tell him myself; I want to surprise him!" Jane Sampson scratched Coco Edwards’s waist and threatened fiercely, "Do you hear me?"
"Got it, got it!" Coco Edwards raised her hands in surrender.
The company had arranged a driver to pick up at the airport. Coco Edwards sent Jane Sampson back to her place, checked the environment to make sure nobody had intruded, and then left with ease.
Jane Sampson was in a daze as she took a quick bath, then, still bleary-eyed, lay on the bed and was asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.
After a sleep, she only woke up when her mobile phone alarm clock rang the next morning, dazed for a few seconds before remembering she had wrapped up filming and returned home.
She had an appointment with a doctor for a health check this morning.
Jane Sampson hadn’t told Coco Edwards her plan to not see James directly today. She had made the appointment to see the doctor for a physical examination before coming back.
Nia’s sudden passing made Jane Sampson realize the importance of cherishing her health, so after several days of overthinking, she decided to come back for a physical checkup.
Since she was going out alone, Jane Sampson dressed very low-key, putting on a hat and mask, and even wore a pair of sunglasses on her face, then drove out.
By the time she came out of the examination center, it was already 11:30. Some results would only be ready by tomorrow, so Jane Sampson went to the garage to get her car, planning to come again tomorrow.
In the afternoon, she needed to visit the veteran Chinese medicine doctor.
Back in the car, as Jane Sampson was contemplating where to get some lunch, her phone suddenly rang.
The caller ID suggested it was Oscar Wilson.
As soon as Jane Sampson picked up, her ears were filled with Oscar Wilson repeatedly shouting "Holy crap!"
"Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Jane Sampson, do you know, I practically saw a ghost this morning!" Oscar Wilson’s voice was so loud that Jane Sampson quickly moved her phone away.
