Chapter 2536 - 2544: She Wants to See Us
"Alright, the Carter Family really put thought into this." Old Master Black was still quite surprised that the Carter Family could go this far. "As for Jane the girl, she’s sleeping upstairs. Last night at midnight, James Black called her back from the quilt to rush back home overnight. She surely didn’t rest well on the airplane, and she was tired when she returned, so I let James accompany her to the room to rest."
After Brooke Black hung up the phone, she told the Carter Family that Jane Sampson was resting, and Granny Carter felt relieved upon hearing this.
"Let her sleep well, let her sleep for a while longer. These days, the child was worried and scared, not even being able to go outside. Now that things are settled, let her sleep well." Granny Carter then returned to the sofa.
"This matter hasn’t cooled down yet, so she still has to stay in the house." Father Carter was a bit helpless, "She has such a lively personality, it’s really hard for her to stay at home."
"James Black couldn’t be happier. He’d use this as an excuse to take her to the base to accompany him." Brooke Black knew James Black too well; that guy would seize every opportunity to coax his wife into going to the base to accompany him.
"Once the situation cools down, we’ll take a trip to Capital Province in the spring and spend some time there with the child. We’re all getting old, and we don’t know how much time we have left. While we still can move, let’s seize the time to spend more with her." Granny Carter began planning for the spring.
She then said to her daughter-in-law, "I don’t know if we can see Jane and James Black’s child be born. If I can’t hold my granddaughter, holding Jane the girl’s child would be good too."
"You and Dad are both in good health; you can watch Jane’s child grow up." Mother Carter hugged Old Madam Carter with a cheerful smile.
"Jane isn’t like other young people who don’t want children. She and James Black seem to be planning, so, Old Madam Carter, just wait. Maybe the child will follow behind you calling you great-grandma in the future." Brooke Black was silently praying for the elderly from both families, hoping they could all live to be one hundred years old.
Just as everyone was joyfully discussing Jane Sampson and James Black’s child, Father Carter’s mobile phone rang.
The call was from the hospital, Jillian Carter had woken up.
Father Carter listened to the call for quite a while before hanging up, then he said to everyone, "The hospital doctor said the first thing Jillian did after waking up was grab her mobile phone. She watched the live video of the press conference, then pulled out her tubes to jump off the building, but the caregiver pulled her back. She also said she wanted to call Joseph Shaw, but he blacklisted her number."
"Joseph Shaw wants to divorce her, she knows it." Granny Carter wasn’t surprised Jillian would want to find Joseph Shaw after waking up.
"The doctor said Jillian wants to see us." Father Carter said as he stood up, "I think it’s time to see her, just as a farewell."
"You go, your dad and I won’t. We’re too old to go through such a fuss." Granny Carter waved it off. As for Jillian Carter, she really didn’t have any patience left for her.
Someone who could use her unborn child, Granny Carter really didn’t know how to persuade her anymore.
"You and Dad rest at home, Gwendolyn and I will go." Father Carter called the nanny to look after the elderly, took his wife, and left for the hospital with Brooke Black.
At this time, the hospital doorway was surrounded by many people who got the message and wanted to interview Jillian Carter, but all were blocked outside the hospital by the Carter Family’s arrangements.
Brooke Black, upon arriving at the hospital, did not enter Jillian Carter’s ward. Instead, he waited outside, not getting involved in the Carter family’s own affairs.
