Chapter 54 You’ve Got Guts

Sebastian’s POV

I slammed my fist against the bathroom door, feeling the wood shudder under the impact. My face flushed with anger and something else I didn’t want to think about.

This woman. This infuriating, boundary-pushing woman.

I’d been indulging her. That was the problem. Every time I gave her an inch, she took a mile. First my bed, then my room, and now—now she had the audacity to commandeer my private bathroom like it was some communal spa.

What made it worse? I couldn’t bring myself to throw her out.

If this had been any other year, any other person, they would’ve been gone. Dead, if we’re being honest. But Emilia? She was still here, pushing every button I had.

"Emilia Taylor," I growled at the closed door. "You’ve got guts. We’re settling this when you come out."

I threw myself onto the sofa, arms crossed, jaw clenched. Waiting. Like some fool.

"Sebastian?"Her voice came through the door, unusually sweet."Could you maybe, possibly, do me a tiny favor and get my pajamas from the guest room? They’re on the bed. The blue ones. Please?"

I couldn’t believe my ears. She’d forcibly occupied my space, and now she was ordering me around like I was her personal servant?

A slow smile curved my lips—not a pleasant one.

Oh, I’d do her a favor alright.

I leaned back, saying nothing. My bathroom had a bathrobe. My bathrobe. Let’s see if she had the guts to wear it.

Several minutes passed. The water shut off. I heard shuffling, muttering—probably her realizing her predicament.

Then, after what seemed like a very long time, I caught it: the bathroom door creaking open, followed by light, cautious footsteps.

I pressed myself against the wall near the corner, perfectly still. My wolf, Ryder, was practically grinning inside my head.

"She’s wearing it," he observed with amusement. "Our scent all over her."

I ignored him, watching as a small figure wrapped in my oversized bathrobe tiptoed past. Her damp hair clung to her neck, and the robe hung loosely on her body, the material gathering around her feet.

She glanced around nervously, clearly thinking she’d escaped.

Not a chance.

I stepped out and seized her wrist, yanking her back against me.

"Ah!" She yelped, spinning around with wide eyes. "What—what are you doing?"

"What do you think?" I tightened my grip on her wrist, feeling her thin wrist beneath my fingers. "Comfortable in my clothes, are we?"

"I know I was wrong," she stammered, trying to pull away. "Could you please let me go? It really hurts..."

"Now you know you’re wrong?" I squeezed her wrist harder, watching her wince. "Weren’t you very capable just now?"

"Ah—" She cried out as I gripped harder.

"Sebastian, please stop. It really hurts—"

I saw her frowning in pain, and I couldn’t help but loosen my grip. She quickly lowered her head and rubbed her wrist, but I caught a glimpse of her hidden smile at the corner of her mouth.

She had just been fooling me!

I immediately lifted her chin with my hand and said to her, "You actually dared to pretend to be pitiful just now?!"

The smile on her face hadn’t completely disappeared yet, but it instantly changed to a nervous expression. "You really did hurt me just now."

Her voice trembled, but I’d already made up my mind to teach her a lesson. Before she could protest further, I hoisted her over my shoulder.

"Hey!" She shrieked as I spun her around, her world tilting.

I crossed the room quickly and dropped her onto my bed. She bounced once, hair flying, eyes spinning.

Before she could scramble away, I caught her wrists and pinned them behind her back, pressing her down into the mattress.

"Ah—ah—ah—" Her cries got louder as I gripped tighter.

She winced in pain and begged, "I know I was wrong. Please let me go? It really hurts so much..."

"Now you know you’re wrong? Weren’t you acting so clever just a moment ago?"

Ryder was panicking in my mind, "Be gentler with her, she’s crying."

I replied to my wolf angrily, "If I was really using force, do you think her arms and hands would still be there?"

Ryder went silent.

I continued, "If I don’t teach her a lesson now, she’ll really push her luck next time."

Despite Amelia’s screams filling my ears, I still heard movement outside the door.

Footsteps approached from far away, getting closer.

"Who are you?"

"Who are you?" Linda’s voice responded. This woman hadn’t returned to her room and was eavesdropping at the door instead?

"I think I should be the one asking that question! This is my house!"

"Me? I’m Emilia’s sister. Who are you?" Linda asked.

"Oh, you’re my sister-in-law’s sister. I’m Sebastian’s sister. But why are you standing outside my brother’s door at this time?" Tiffany questioned.

Linda said awkwardly, "I wanted to talk to my sister."
