Chapter 60: REVENGE ON THEIR MATE
"How do you know?" Daven demanded that the man with the red eyes who was slouching on the sofa explain more about what happened at the outskirts of the pack. "How do you know?"
The man still refused to tell him his name, but he was the only person who was constantly there whenever Daven was alone. He would come whenever the omega, who was in charge of taking care of the former alpha, was not around.
"Of course, I know. I have eyes." He chuckled lightly as he covered one of his eyes with his palm. "But they left already."
Daven pressed his lips. He didn’t know what he wished to happen, because some part of him wanted to see Seara badly, but the other part was scared of what the king of the Lycans might do to him.
The last encounter had left him with a bad leg, which forced him to sit in a wheelchair or move with a crutch.
However, despite the fear, Daven was holding a huge grudge toward the Lycan. He wanted him to die a miserable death, a gruesome one, where he begged for his life.
"You said that you were going to help me to get rid of that Lycan, but you have not yet done anything." Daven threw a derisive look at the red-eyed man.
"You need to be patient, my dear," he drawled lazily, as he plopped a grape into his mouth. "Call that friend of your destined mate."
"Seara?"
Daven narrowed his eyes; the first name that crossed his mind when this red-eyed man mentioned the word ’destined mate’ was Seara instead of Eudora.
Technically, Seara was indeed his destined mate, while Eudora was his chosen one. But as time went by and he was no longer with Eudora, his memories of her in the past three days faded away.
Instead, Daven had been thinking of the time he spent with Seara. He didn’t understand why his mind was playing this cruel trick on him, because the guilt and remorse that followed every memory were unbearable.
"It is so funny to see you mention her name instead of your luna’s," the red-eyed man laughed and slouched deeper on the sofa. He noticed that fact too and found it amusing.
"Shut the fuck up," Daven growled.
"Fine. Fine." He raised both of his arms in the air as a gesture of surrender before he went back to the main topic of discussion.
"Call her friends here. I want to talk with them."
"How can I call them? Why don’t you call them if you are so capable of exacting my revenge?"
"You must have been so spoiled as an alpha before." He raised his brows and looked at Daven with resentment. "If I do all the hard work, then what are you going to do? Sitting all day and waiting for the result?"
It was an insult to Daven, because this person knew well that he wouldn’t be able to do anything but sit down in his wheelchair for the rest of his life. The mockery didn’t go unnoticed.
However, what else could Daven do when the only option for revenge he had was this mysterious man?
"Stop talking to me like that," Daven growled viciously. "Do you think I will not tell Rexton there is an intruder inside his pack? Mind your words."
"Daven, you can’t always rely on someone else to fight your battle; sometimes, you have to stand up for yourself." And then he laughed heartily.

Zade tried to think of something else, but he couldn’t. His mind filled with a hundred different ideas on how to annihilate that pack and all the people there.
They were not innocent; they let everything happen, and they didn’t even try to stop it. They simply watched when Seara was treated unfairly, and they had contributed to it in some way.
The thought of how his mate had to survive such people only fueled the rage inside of him.
However, there was only one reason why Zade didn’t jump from this moving car and went back to that pack and actualized all of the cold-blooded ideas in his mind.
Zade didn’t want to lose his time with his mate. It took him decades to fully get a grip on his beast the last time he went for blood.
For an immortal like Zade, a few decades were nothing. He had stopped treasuring time, since it felt meaningless to him. Everything else moved on and changed, but not with him.
Yet, Seara was not an immortal, and Zade would lose his precious time with her if he gave in to his insanity.
That would be enough reason for Zade not to wipe out the Blackthorne Pack from this realm and offend Asher again. He didn’t even count Asher as a real deal here.
Zade brought Seara closer to him and kissed her forehead. Breathing in her scent helped him to calm down slightly.
He shouldn’t have killed the three of them immediately. They should have been skinned alive so he could take his time and watch the life drain from their eyes as he took their lives slowly.

Neriah’s eyes were red because she had been crying so hard when she learned her mate was dead. Her mate was one of the three warriors who were killed by the Lycan king.
"Do you want to get revenge on your mate?" Daven asked darkly, while the red-eyed man was sitting in the corner of the room, watching them.
Neriah glanced at the man uncomfortably, but she was too distracted by the pain from the severed mate bond.
She just found out two weeks ago that Arlan was her mate, and the mating ceremony would take place in a few weeks.
However, everything went down the drain.
The pain left Neriah unable to think straight.
"I want revenge on my mate," Neriah said, wiping tears from her eyes. "He is a good person. He didn’t deserve it."
