Chapter 49: IT’S BEAUTIFUL LIKE YOU
Seara couldn’t help it; she was very uncomfortable with the anger that gnawed inside her. It felt like an itch that you couldn’t scratch, and she needed a way to vent it out.
The pain and discomfort that had built up inside of her mind had turned into violence since she couldn’t find a way to let it out.
At this point, the issue was no longer about the scissors, because the old feeling returned a thousandfold, knocked her rationality to the back of her mind, leaving her with this grievance, which she didn’t know how to get rid of.
She wanted to hurt someone the way she was being hurt now.
Somehow, her mind told her to seek pain, since no one could see the pain inside of her, so she had to show it, but it came out as rage.
"Seara," Zade called her name sternly as blood dripped from his cheek and fell on his bare chest.
"GIVE IT BACK TO ME! You jerk! YOU ASSHOLE! BITCH! USELESS!" Seara cursed fiercely at Zade, as if she hated him to the bone, but truly, she just hated herself.
The way Seara cursed at Zade was how she talked to herself in her head.
However, she couldn’t raise any reaction from Zade; he let her do whatever with him, but he didn’t give her what she wanted the most.
And that was when, from the corner of Seara’s eye, she caught a sight of a flower vase that sat on the table. She would crush his head, and probably only then he would react.
Somehow, Seara wanted Zade to be angry, because she could deal with anger. She was familiar with it and knew what to do or how to react.
Yet, when it came to kindness, it felt foreign. It was suspicious. It was the language that she didn’t know.
Seara waited for Zade to react, to shout at her, but he didn’t.
Therefore, without a second thought, Seara rushed to grab it, and Zade was too late to stop her, because she moved very fast; it even surprised him.
And the moment Seara had her hand on the vase, she hit Zade’s head so hard that the ceramic shattered into a few pieces and blood oozed out from Zade’s left head.
"What’s going on?!" Ace yanked open the door right in time when Seara attacked Zade, and he was flabbergasted. He didn’t know what to do or what had happened.
Seara had an episode where she was out of control, and Zade just stood there and didn’t do anything to stop her, but this time, his eyes turned sharp.
"Are you done?" he asked. His voice still held some warmth, but it sounded suppressed.
For a long moment, Seara stared at Zade’s head, where blood dripped down his shoulder, down to his chest, and her eyes would flicker on the scissors in his hand.
"Give it to me..." Seara said in a small voice this time. She lowered her head because she didn’t dare to look Zade in the eyes. "Give it to me..."
"What do you want with it?" Despite everything and what had happened, Zade’s voice still held gentleness for her.
"I want to cut my hair... it is ugly," Seara said, as if she were mumbling to herself. "It is disheveled, ugly, and frizzy. It’s ugly."
"Who said that’s ugly?" Zade took a tentative step closer toward his mate, and when she didn’t move away, he raised his hand and touched her hair, but Seara swatted his hand harshly.
"Don’t touch me!" She lifted her head and glared at Zade, but tears welled up in her beautiful hazel eyes. "It’s ugly."
"No, it is not."
"It’s ugly! It’s ugly! This is disgusting!" Seara was going to lose it again, so Zade didn’t say anything and waited until she could control herself. "I need to cut it off!"
So, that’s why she wanted the scissors so badly.
Zade didn’t know what happened to Seara because when he left her to take a bath, she was still sleeping and there was no one else in the room, aside from her.
Therefore, she must have woken up and somehow spiraled because of her own thoughts.
It was hard.
Zade could protect her from whoever tried to harm her; he would do anything for his mate, but he couldn’t protect Seara from her own thoughts.
On the other hand, Ace was stunned to see the mess inside the room. He heard the commotion from inside and immediately rushed in, only to see Seara was attacking Zade and he was bleeding.
However, he couldn’t interrupt because Zade told him to leave. Moreover, he didn’t have the slightest idea what to do even if he stepped in.
Normally, Ace wouldn’t be afraid that something bad would happen to Zade, since there were only a few things that could harm the Lycan king.
Yet, when Ace saw that Zade didn’t even defend himself during the attack, he was worried that Seara might end up killing him and Zade wouldn’t even complain about it.
Having a mate was scary...
[Leave, Ace.]
[Are you sure?]
[Leave.]
Ace had no other choice, because Zade used his alpha’s voice to get rid of him from the room. He also blocked the mindlink between them.
The beta then decided to lean against the wall next to the door. If he sensed or heard anything unusual, he could enter the room as quickly as possible.
"Zephyr is here!" Zephyr entered the bungalow and found that Ace was already there.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Zade was trying to figure out what he had to say. It would be difficult to get through Seara when she lost in her thoughts.
"I love your hair." Zade took a step closer. "It is beautiful, just like you. Don’t shame my taste."
Seara shook her head. "I want to cut it. I don’t like it. I hate it. I don’t want it."
"Okay, if that’s what you want, but can you come to me for a while?"
