Chapter 762: The Bride of the Heavenly God State
A week had quietly slipped by.
Inside the small, serene pavilion beside the Sacred Pond, everything remained peaceful and soft. The crisp morning sunlight filtered through the carved wooden windows, painting soft golden patterns across the polished floor.
Su Qinglan sat quietly before a hazy bronze mirror. The surface wasn’t perfectly clear, but it reflected enough for her to see the young woman staring back at her.
Her waist-length hair flowed over her shoulders like rich, glossy silk. Her skin seemed even fairer than before, carrying a radiant, healthy glow that practically made her bloom.
Looking at her own reflection, Su Qinglan couldn’t help blushing furiously.
"...Has it already been an entire week?" she softly muttered to herself, her voice a whisper.
It felt completely unreal. Ever since entering this little secluded pavilion... neither she nor An Mo had stepped outside even once.
Thinking about everything that had transpired over the past seven days, the tips of her delicate ears immediately turned bright red.
"What a shameless angel..." she mumbled under her breath.
Her slender hand slowly rose toward her collarbone. There, resting quietly upon her fair skin, was a pair of exquisite golden wings. The mark was beautiful beyond words, shimmering with an ethereal celestial light. It was An Mo’s totem.
Her fingertips gently traced its delicate, raised outline. An unconscious, sweet smile bloomed across her face. She loved it. It wasn’t simply a mark... It was absolute proof that they belonged to one another forever.
Her cheeks grew even warmer, and she quickly shook her head to drive away the embarrassing, chaotic memories that kept surfacing in her mind.
"No... I shouldn’t be thinking about that right now..."
Yet the more she tried not to think, the clearer those wild, exhausting memories appeared.
For an entire week, that shameless angel had hardly let her leave his side, claiming her over and over until she lost track of day and night.
Now, she finally understood what he had meant when he smirked and said, You’ll understand soon enough.
At the time, she hadn’t believed his claims about being an ’angel of lust and desire. ’Now she did. Completely and utterly.
She covered her burning face with both hands, groaning softly. "So embarrassing..."
Fortunately, although she should have been completely exhausted after enduring the Sacred Pond’s brutal trial, the exact opposite had happened.
She had never felt stronger in her life. Her body was filled with endless, surging vitality. Every movement felt as light as a feather, and every single breath carried abundant energy.
Just then, her gaze shifted upward in the mirror’s hazy reflection. Between her brows, an elegant golden symbol quietly shimmered.
Su Qinglan gently touched it with her fingertips. This was the Sacred Pond’s ultimate acknowledgment...the sacred symbol of the future Mistress of the Heavenly God State.
In every generation, there could only ever be one person to receive it. And now... that person was her.
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help smiling with quiet pride.
Curious about her physical transformation, she slowly examined the energy flowing through her body’s meridians. The very next moment, her beautiful eyes widened in sheer shock.
"So powerful..." she gasped softly.
Her plant ability had finally broken through! For the longest time, her primary ability had remained stubbornly stuck at Level Nine. No matter how hard she tried, it had simply refused to advance a single inch.
Yet after undergoing the baptism of the Sacred Pond, everything had changed in an instant.
Legendary Level Fifteen! She had crossed six whole realms in one miraculous leap! If someone asked her to grow an entire dense forest right now, she could probably accomplish it with nothing more than a simple flick of her finger.
Just imagining her new strength made her heart flutter with intense excitement.
Giddy with joy, she happily picked up the fine wooden comb on the vanity and began to slowly comb her long, flowing hair.
Suddenly...
A familiar pair of warm hands gently reached over and took the comb right from her fingers.
"Let me," An Mo’s deep, magnetic voice sounded right behind her.
Su Qinglan looked into the bronze mirror, their eyes meeting through the hazy reflection.
An Mo stood behind her with a soft, breathtaking smile, carefully combing her long hair strand by strand. His movements were surprisingly skilled and gentle...not a single tug, not a single knot.
Su Qinglan puffed her cheeks, deliberately glaring at him through the mirror to hide her beating heart.
An Mo noticed her fiery look immediately, and a low, chest-vibrating chuckle escaped his lips. "What is my Lanlan thinking about?"
Su Qinglan answered without a moment’s hesitation. "So... can we leave now?" She looked at him expectantly in the mirror.
An Mo laughed softly, his golden eyes filled with fond amusement. "Why are you looking at me like I’m someone with no self-control?"
"Because you aren’t!"
"I already told you," he continued smoothly, ignoring her outburst. "We can leave today."
Su Qinglan narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Why can’t I bring myself to believe you?"
An Mo paused, his hand stopping the combing motion for a brief moment. Then, he slowly bent down, hovering right beside her sensitive ear. His warm breath brushed against her cheek.
"Lanlan..." he purred mischievously.
"There is no need to beat around the bush. If you want to spend just one more day in bed with me... you can just say it out loud."
Su Qinglan’s eyes instantly widened in utter disbelief. "What?!"
She immediately turned around and pushed his handsome, grinning face away.
"You shameless angel! You’ve said ’we’re leaving tomorrow’ countless times already! And every single time, you changed your mind at the last second!"
She folded her arms tightly across her chest, trying to look stern. "So tell me honestly. When are we really leaving? The cubs haven’t seen me for an entire week. They’re probably worried sick about me!"
As she mentioned her precious cubs, a genuine trace of concern flashed in her eyes.
An Mo smiled helplessly, his heart softening. He gently reached out and rubbed the top of her head affectionately. "Soon. I promise, we’re really leaving today."
Then, his golden eyes darkened with a tender, mysterious light. "But before we step outside... I have something for you."
Su Qinglan blinked, her curiosity piqued. "What is it?"
Without answering her right away, An Mo turned and walked toward a large, beautifully carved wooden chest sitting near the back of the room. He carefully lifted its heavy lid.
Inside lay the breathtaking red wedding dress they had spoken about before.
The golden phoenix embroidery shimmered brilliantly beneath the morning sunlight, while countless delicate, glowing patterns decorated every fine layer of the rich georgette fabric. It was unimaginably, dazzlingly beautiful.
Su Qinglan froze on the spot, her lips parting in awe. "You... you brought it with you?"
Her voice was filled with sheer surprise and deep emotion.
An Mo nodded, looking at her with boundless warmth. "Of course. I promised you, didn’t I?"
He lifted the exquisite red dress with utmost care, as if holding the most precious treasure in the world, and walked steadily back toward her.
Standing before her, he smiled gently and held out the vibrant red gown. "Come, my bride. Let me help you get ready."
