In order to atone for his sins, Lin Beichen had been meditating and praying in the hall to ease his sense of guilt.

Zhou Yi, seeing this scene, comforted Lin Beichen, saying, "This matter is not your fault. Good deeds are rewarded, and evil deeds punished. It’s just a matter of time."

"Stop blaming yourself. He did so many heinous things, he was bound to meet such an end sooner or later."

"Who told him to be so insidious and vicious, always trying to control everything and deceive everyone?"

After listening to Zhou Yi, Lin Beichen sighed and said, "No matter what, he has lost his life. Let’s not talk about this anymore."

"When living in the world, one must always maintain a kind and generous heart. Only then will your path widen, and you won’t find yourself in a place beyond redemption."

Zhou Yi, hearing Lin Beichen’s teachings, lowered his head in shame.

Lin Beichen, with a face full of worry, always felt that this matter started because of him. Although the mayor did things to betray the villagers, Lin Beichen still couldn’t bear that he paid with his life.

After the mayor’s incident, Lin Beichen’s mood had been quite heavy. He meditated for several days, praying for himself to lighten his sense of guilt.

As for Hu Yi, she had already memorized those basic Daoist Skills. During this time, she really worked hard, studying diligently, researching carefully, unwilling to waste a second, spending all her time studying those skills in her room.

Now, Hu Yi was finally willing to come out of her room. She eagerly went to find Lin Beichen, wanting to show him her learning achievements.

She ran over to Lin Beichen, beaming with joy, and said, "Master, I’m here! I have memorized those basic Daoist Skills. Please check to see if I’ve learned anything wrong or misunderstood anything, and I ask for your patient guidance."

Lin Beichen listened and smiled, saying, "Learning is for yourself. Master believes in you. I’ve seen all your hard work during this time, so there’s no need to check. I know how well you have learned."

"I never imagined you’d be so dedicated to learning. Master is really pleased. You’ve grasped so much in such a short time; truly, a teachable child!"

Lin Beichen’s praise made Hu Yi delighted. She had never received such recognition and compliments from Lin Beichen. She had always been interested in learning Daoist Skills, willing to spend all her time and energy on it.

Next, Lin Beichen began teaching Hu Yi how to draw Talismans, hoping she would learn more and acquire more abilities. Hu Yi had a great time learning to draw Talismans with Lin Beichen.

However, Hu Yi was surprised to find that no matter how hard she tried, her Talismans were always crooked and looked terrible. This made Hu Yi very frustrated. She had clearly been very diligent, so why couldn’t she draw them well?

Hu Yi felt a bit guilty towards Lin Beichen, seeing how patient he was in teaching her, yet she hadn’t made any progress. She looked at Lin Beichen with guilt and asked, "Master, why am I so stupid? I can’t seem to draw these Talismans well. You work so hard teaching me, but I’m such a disappointment. I’m really sorry."

Lin Beichen, listening, smiled at Hu Yi and said, "It’s okay. Every beginning is hard, take your time. I believe that with your intelligence, you’ll be drawing well soon enough. There’s no doubt about it."

Lin Beichen was always very attentive and never gave up on teaching Hu Yi. Hu Yi learned very seriously, fearing that any carelessness might anger Lin Beichen, making him reluctant to teach her new knowledge.

Despite the hard work, Hu Yi kept practicing continuously, and finally, after two days, she managed to draw the Talismans correctly. Looking at the Talismans she worked so hard to draw, Hu Yi was overjoyed.

She ran over to Lin Beichen with her drawn Talismans, happily saying, "Master, look, I finally drew the Talismans. Aren’t they beautiful? Thank you for patiently teaching me. I am really happy today. I was worried I would disappoint you."

Lin Beichen nodded at Hu Yi, saying, "This is all the result of your hard work. You’ve made great progress. Keep practicing diligently, and I hope you get better and better in the days to come."

Hu Yi, hearing Lin Beichen’s words, was even happier. She flaunted her drawn Talismans everywhere, and Zhou Yi saw this scene.

Zhou Yi looked at Hu Yi, shook his head helplessly, and said, "Hu Yi, isn’t this a bit too much? You’re showing off everywhere. What do you want people to say? Aren’t they just some Talismans? Is it worth being this happy? I really can’t understand."

Hu Yi listened to Zhou Yi, and replied cheerfully, "Of course I should be happy! Master just praised me, shouldn’t I show off?"

Zhou Yi, hearing this, shook his head helplessly again. He knew that once Hu Yi started talking about her progress and what she’d learned, she wouldn’t stop. Every time, Hu Yi would chatter away incessantly.

After a few days of hard practice, Hu Yi eagerly went to find Lin Beichen again. She hardly paid any mind to Zhou Yi’s cold attitude, standing happily in front of Lin Beichen.

She excitedly told Lin Beichen, "Master, I’ve improved a lot these past two days. I want to show you."

Lin Beichen looked at Hu Yi curiously and smiled, "Oh? It seems you’ve really been diligent these past two days. Master should take a look at just how much you’ve improved."

"Master, watch closely. I’ll show you right now." Hu Yi was full of joy and eager to try.
