Battle Without Purpose (Modified)

The border between the Kingdom of Silesia and Karlsbert is long to the east and west, about 350 kilometres.

Despite this, the only points where the two armies are clashing are in Kobari in the west and near the town of Karbina in the east.

The reason is that there is a large mountain range called the Zdaten Mountains at the border, which makes it difficult for large armies to pass through.

And it can be mentioned that there are only two streets connecting the two countries, Kobari and Karbina.

What is more, Carbina is also a town that is strategically underestimated because it is on the eastern edge of the border. Kobari, on the other hand, was situated at the midpoint of a street leading directly to the capitals of both countries.

It was therefore clear that Kobari would be a land of fierce war.

"Our army currently has three divisions here in Kobari, with more than 29,000 generals. Meanwhile, it appears that the enemy forces are deploying roughly five divisions at the foot of the Zdaten Mountains on the border."

"You're totally at a disadvantage in terms of numbers."

"Yes, and since there are enemy fortresses in the Zdaten Mountains, if you approach them inadvertently, you will be subjected to a powerful magic attack from the fortress, which is expected to cause enormous damage"

"Hmmm..."

The Kobari front was completely glued.

Once on the border, the long idle town has completely eliminated its traces by combat and has succeeded in becoming merely a geographic concept.

The Royal Silesian Army had extracted its forces from the King's Capital and other borders to support the offensive of the Republican Army of Karlsbert, putting it on the front and maintaining it as appropriate. It began abruptly. To some extent, it was impossible, but the Royal Army was doing tactical stupidity to say it was a gradual military input.

All that, because the Royal Army was inferior to the force and had lost even on the ground, the drain on the force far exceeded the expectations of the upper ranks of the army.

Admiral Zigmunt Lax, the commander-in-chief of the army on the southern border, thought that it should not retreat to the Plains of Legniza. However, there were concerns that if we retreated to darkness, we would call for an all-out offensive by the republican army, which would lead to the collapse of the front.

Even if we were able to retreat safely to the Plains of Legniza, there was also the possibility that there would be useless damage to non-combatants too close to Vrotswav, the largest city here.

After consideration, General Lax decided not to retreat and to devote himself to maintaining the current line of defence.

On February 11, 632, the continental calendar, the army of the Kingdom of Silesia was about to reach 10,000 war dead.

"How is the emperor's secretary going to settle this battle?

"Are you settled?

"That's right. This war, our purpose, has already been fulfilled. And then there's how to put it down."

The Eastern Continental Empire is not intervening in this war on a massive scale.

All they did was burn only one fireless forest tree (...) and all they had to do was burn both countries on their own to make it a big fire.

"As far as I'm concerned, you can either. No matter how much a Silesian travels one way to heaven, it's not within my grasp."

"I guess."

To this saying of Benkendorf, Ladygel did not express any particular sentiment even as he was offended. A man named Benkendorf was not good at putting out fire, even if he was good at putting it on, and it was famous among those who knew him well.

"As far as I'm concerned, I think it's time we brokered a truce."

"Oh, are you tired of fireworks sights"

"It's not like that."

Ladygel himself didn't mind deciding it was a high-profile sight.

But if the scourge of war burns too much and other anti-Silesian alliance participants are asked to take a hitchhike into the war, the rights that the Eastern Continental Empire should have been able to enjoy could be sidelined.

If the largest beneficiary country is not our country, it is not worth the effort we have made so far. That's what Ladygel thought and tried to cut this war off early.

"Besides, it looks like you and the Karlsbert Republican Army are struggling a lot. We failed Kobari's offensive operation and killed more than 2,000 generals for no reason."

"But according to information from our national martial artist who sent us to Carlsbert, the Royal Army also seems to have lost 10,000 generals."

A truce is to be brokered by a third country while both armies remain short of decision-makers. It would be great timing.

"What do you think of the emperor's secretary?

"Right. Surely, as His Excellency has said, I should offer His Majesty some advice."

"Hmm. Let's leave that to the Secretary of State. To the Minister of State, I propose from me"

Thus, on February 27, 632 of the Continental Calendar, the Silesia-Karlsbert war ceased in the form of a draw between the two, lacking a deciding hand for each other, by the intermediary of the Emperor of the Eastern Continental Empire, Ivan VII.

There were 15,21 deaths in the Royal Army and 7944 in the Republican Army.

Only a large number of bodies piled up near the border were obtained by both countries in this war.
