Continental Hero Senki

The beginning of the year, with the bloodshed.

1 January 638 of the Continental Calendar.

Across the continent there were banquets to celebrate the New Year. The nobles are wrapped up in gorgeous costumes and brilliant jewellery, and the common people have a fine treat in front of them with their families.

However, this is not the case in the Republic of Karlsbert, where the civil war does not yet show an end. The wealthy fled the country, and the common man feared the sound of the military boots echoing in the town, shrinking.

Meanwhile, the military men treading on those military shoes were also anxious. The junior soldiers are in a state of disobedience, and high-ranking officers are frightened by the forces of the royalists who continue to rule in the east.

In other words, many citizens could not even afford to celebrate the New Year.

Especially in the eastern part of the Republic, at the halfway point between Schumperk and the Fortress of Ormutz, the end of the war was about to open instead of a banquet celebrating the New Year.

The two nationalist divisions that marched out of Schumperk - for convenience the Schumperk Legion - encountered two royalist divisions as they marched southeast down the street.

This street, where the two armies were travelling, cannot afford just to let the great army deploy because of the vast forests in the southwest and northeast directions. Especially since Rochettitze, which first saw kingdoms and statesmen alike, was particularly narrow and ideal as a point of interception of large armies for this purpose. Therefore the royalists were in formation.

And at 11: 40, the two armies finally collide.

This battle, to be referred to as the "Rochettitze Conference" for future generations, began in a mediocre way without originality shards at first.

Beginning with advanced sorcery shooting on Stable Street, avant-garde contact and proximity by spear soldiers, cuts by swordmen, it was all a battle conducted according to textbooks.

Naturally so. If an equal number of troops were to have been hit in Rochettitze, a terrain with no room for odd manoeuvres, it could rather be said that it would be a battle on Stone Street.

Dare I say, the Schumperk Regiment, which plans to rescue the Fortress attack, or the Legion Commander Rebar, was an offensive gesture. Therefore the national sect attacks, and the royalists defend it.

But the national movement was dull.

If you are ordered to leave without being able to afford to spend time with your family early in the New Year, and the reason for this is the rescue of the "Rebel of the Hated," the morale of the soldiers will be lowered from time to time.

And furthermore, its low morale was the same in high-ranking officers. "It's impossible to rescue the Rebar who's in the fortress anyway. This is a political act (performance) for the center," so he didn't go into a stubborn offense.

Lt. Gen. Matthias Masalik, who leads a division of two royalists who saw the battle unmotivated by the national sect, was somewhat confused.

"... I had heard of that possibility beforehand, but I really didn't think you were so unwilling"

The "possibility" of having heard it beforehand was precisely the speculation of a young officer of the Royal Silesian Army who planned this interception operation. Masalik initially ignored the prediction as "child bullshit," but his pre-planning of the interception operation and the unexpected completion of the proposed operation stunned him.

And considering the "possibility" and the fact that they were also shooting at him, Masaryk had to change the idea of "child bullshit".

"Well, I need to show my kids something good. Or they'll say," Old age. "

Lt. Gen. Matthias Masalik is 53 years old at this age. Not old enough to be trendy with old age in the world, but afraid of being called so, he unfortunately decided to wave that arm.

Masalik continued to move his troops in response to changed circumstances so as not to come off the backbone of the interception operation planned by Yuzef.

Same day at 14: 20.

A subtle change occurred on a front that was repeatedly glued with passive offenses and aggressive defenses. It takes its edge off the information brought to Major General Braha, who commands the Schumperk Legion.

"The rebels appear to be in a state of disruption under attack by our elite sword soldiers. My lord, let's launch an offensive here and destroy the enemy."

Braha, who received this newspaper, made no immediate decision.

The anxiety that the soldier's morale was low enough to withstand an aggressive offensive, and the decision as to whether there was any point in continuing this battle, which had no political connotations unexpectedly, had dulled his decision.

It goes without saying that it was the best path for him, given the most tactical difficulty awaited: the fortress strategy.

Once he was about to order his own army to withdraw as well, in line with his confused and retreating enemies.

But it was blocked by the chief of staff who reported to Braha.

"My lord. If we could go on offense here and hit fewer or fewer enemy troops, I think your troubles could be somewhat reduced. It is more convincing to force the enemy to bleed heavily before retreating and reporting the situation than to withdraw with little damage from the enemy's side and then excuse it to the center. Please, give me an order to chase him."

The Chief of Staff's opinion is not a mistake. It is true that if we retreat with little effect, we could be suspected by the center of "fighting for excuses". But you don't have to worry about it if you mention the effects, and even if you are suspected, the blame will be mild because of the samurai medal and offsetting.

What's more, if Buraha abandons Rebar while he puts up a medal here, not only could he stand an excuse for the center, but he could also be promoted to lieutenant general of the memorial.

When Braha assembled the equation he so intended in his brain, he made a decision.

"Adopt the opinion of the Chief of Staff, chase the enemy"

Thus the Schumperk Legion went further south in pursuit of two divisions of royalists.

Lieutenant General Masaryk, the royalist who saw this, said he had a laugh of victory.

"Hmm. Have you been chasing me? Save yourself the hassle. As originally planned, we're going south on the streets as we keep our enemies under control!

Masalik carried out a disguised retreat to coincide with the enemy sword soldier's attack. In other words, Braha was caught in this disguised retreat.

If Braha had spotted it and stopped moving forward or retreated, he would have stopped retreating immediately and gone on offense, but that was no longer necessary.

However, the movement of the Schumperk Legion, led by Braha, who sets up the pursuit, was cautious.

As a matter of fact, Braha was halfway aware that the destruction of the royalists might be a disguised retreat. That is why he ordered his men to keep an eye on the existence of the trap, and the hand of pursuit became loose.

Realizing this, Masalik admitted that the enemy commander was not an incompetent person and decided to do an even more ingenious retreat.

Fall back, sometimes out on offense, and give the soldiers a moderate rest once the front is glued. That's how he kept going south at a tortoise-like rate, little by little as he continued his one-off offense.

As a result, the battle for the Rochettice was a long battle that lasted three days, thanks to the careful pursuit of the national Buraha and the elaborate retreat of the royalist Masaryk.

It was at 13: 20 on 3 January that an end was struck to that long retreat.

The Schumperk Legion was at that time advancing to a distance that would put the Ormutz fortress, which had been made fall by the royalists, into sight.

Even if the generals' chest was given the idea of "maybe a good opportunity to drop the fortress", it would be irrelevant. Commander Taburaha was also wondering if we should go out on offense and flesh out to the fortress at once.

But the idea never ended up in my mouth. Because thoughts were blocked from reporting from the deputy secretary.

"Enemy shadows over the rear! Five o'clock, a few roughly 10,000!

"What!?

"Attack coming!

Immediately after that report by his deputy, a relentless advanced sorcery attack was carried out on the rear guard unit of the Schumperk Legion. When Braha looked back and checked the rear, there was certainly an enemy army in formation there.

It was a division of the Royal Silesian Army led by Emilia Silesia.

"How did you allow the enemy to approach!? No, it shouldn't be possible to go around in the back or anything like that on this street that's sandwiched in the forest in the first place!

With a fierce sorcery attack, Braha asked his men yes. But he couldn't be an almighty God whose men could grasp all of the situation, and he couldn't answer a similar question to Blaha's wrath.

But the truth is, the answer is simple.

I predicted that this would be the kind of war situation, and I just made a huge detour through the forest and circled back. Even so briefly, the power to almost perfectly predict such a state of war and the execution of the front-line commanders who create that state of war is not a great deal.

It was accomplished by Operation Staff Yuzef Waresa, who assembled the operation; Commander Emilia Silesia, who boldly and maneuverably moved the troops based on that operation; and above all, Royalist Lieutenant General Mathias Masalik, who played a retreat that lasted several days without the enemy understanding this operation.

Determine how to draw enemies in, which point they will be sandwiched when they arrive, by prior operational meetings, and respond ad hoc without upset even if reality becomes different from prior assumptions. They worked well together and succeeded in pinching the Schumperk Legion.

Confirming the massive enchantment offensive of the Emilia Division, Masalik orders a reversal from the retreat order and a total counterattack.

"Multiply the confusion of your enemies and destroy them all at once! Assault! Assault!

The Schumpelk army, suddenly attacked from behind and confused by the chain of command, could not have stopped Masaryk's assault. The Schumperk Legion goes from a state of confusion to a state of destruction at once.

Meanwhile, Emilia, who succeeded in taking the back of the Schumperk Legion, did not issue an assault order. That did not expose the Schumperk Legion to a harsh attack.

That doesn't mean Emilia is kinder than Masaryk. Instead, the orders she gives are exactly what is deserving of a death sentence for a national sect.

"Repeat long-range attacks with sorcery and bows and arrows to sharpen enemy power. Consider only ensuring that the avant-garde buries only those enemies who try to escape the attack of the Masaryk legions."

Even if you storm an enemy that is already in disarray, it will only become a mixed battle and will not be able to carry out long-range sorcery attacks. Wanting to keep troop wear and tear as low as she could, she avoided a white soldier battle that would cause more damage to enemy allies and continued to prolong ranged attacks beyond enemy reach.

And the enemy, frightened by the Assault of the Masaryk Regiment, would be exposed to the enchantment attack of the Emilia Division, and those who were able to scratch it were eventually destined to be skewered by the Emilia Division avant-garde.

Still, some troops dared to assault the Emilia Division, but they were bounced back by Emilia's precise instructions.

And then Yuzef was looking at Emilia's face with a slightly blurred look. wondering. When Emilia asked, Yuzef returned to me

"No, Her Royal Highness Emilia, who stands and directs on the front line, was so beautiful, I was just about to fall in love"

I said jokingly. It is true that Emilia's attitude in continuing to command on the front line was spectacular, whereas Emilia joked back.

"Oh, I don't mind falling in love at all, do I?

As she smiled and turned back to her enemies, she immediately continued to direct her expression as a fortitude.

It goes without saying that Maya, who was watching that series of conversations, muttered with a troubled face, "What are you doing on the battlefield..."

On the other hand, it was not a blaha that would always remain silent about the ruthless situation created by Emilia and Yuzef while they were joking. He managed to calm his confusing allies and hasten the reorganization of the order system.

But the move will soon come to the knowledge of Emilia Division's operational staff, Yuzef Waresa.

"... um, Mr. Feene. Can I have a word with you?

"What is it, Major?"

"You know that troop flag over there, where the troops are starting to be dense?

"Wait a minute...... Uh, you're definitely in Major General Braha's unit."

"I see..."

This means that the enemy commander is in the midst of cleaning up the mess and restructuring the chain of command and formation. Having spotted it, Yuzef immediately decided to hit his next hand.

"Your Highness, let's call off the magic offensive and move forward. oppressing the enemy."

"... I don't mind, but what's its intent?

"The enemy has already done nearly 30% of the damage, but it still appears to be restructuring the chain of command. Continued sorcery attacks like this will not work. I thought it would be better if we moved forward, terrorized the enemy soldiers, disrupted their footsteps, and applauded the confusion."

Having heard that Yuzef's explanation, Emilia is convinced, and smiles and gives orders to the troops.

"Division personnel, forward. neat, and dignified."

The division under Emilia's orders moves simultaneously. Apparently well trained. The movement of a supervised division runs out of just one sweeping word. And that prestigious formation and the sense of death that came quietly, the Schumperk legions immediately recalled the confusion that was about to subside.

Blaha could not at last carry out a complete reorganisation of the order system.

The Schumperk Legion, which was sandwiched from front to back, was not what could be called the earliest Legion. Most of the officers have just abandoned their duties and become wolves, and the number of junior soldiers can be wolfed is several times greater.

Same day at 16: 15.

The damage to the Schumperk Legion was in excess of 10,000. Half of them died in battle and half were taken prisoner.

Braha, who courageously and in vain continued to skip orders, also finally lost the physical and mental strength to carry it out, halfway self-inflicted and ordered an assault on the rear Emilia Division.

That was certainly the only hope for survival left, rather than the best. It is a simple calculation that it should be easier to break through one division in the rear than to break through two divisions in the front.

But their obsession with raw was awesome. The Emilia Division had taken their advance from the front, but the Schumperk Corps, which stormed without thought, could have been more terrifying than a controlled unit.

"... Yuzef-kun. Wouldn't it be nice if it stayed that way?

"Sure. Maybe Maya's right."

A soldier who is not afraid of death, there is no more terrible than that. At the time of the Sword Soldiers graduation exam, Maya was well aware of it when she dealt with a frenzied enemy military service instructor. And it is the conscripted peasants who are not used to killing their enemies who are dealing with it on this battlefield.

As it is, the formation may be disintegrated under barometric pressure from enemy soldiers. When Yuzef thought so, he made a suggestion that was in Emilia.

"Your Highness, open a point where enemy attacks are concentrated and make your way out."

"Are you going to let the enemy slip away?

"No, Sarah won't let you get away with it"

When Yuzef uttered the name of his best friend, Emilia understood a method of warfare that could also be described as Yuzef's outer path.

"... I see, is that what you mean"

"That's what I mean"

16: 40.

By order of Emilia, the division dared to split second-hand to create an escape route for the Schumperk Legion. At this time, the Schumperk Regiment had been reduced to 7000 by the attacks of the Emilia Division and the Masaryk Regiment, and had lost control altogether.

And Braha, who should be in command, rushed first into that escape path, and the junior soldiers and officers followed it. The generals who pioneered the battle, which lasted three days, have no willingness to engage at the earliest.

But on both sides of the escape route was a formation of Emilia divisions, relentlessly attacking the Schumperk Regiment from left to right trying to flee by force.

The junior soldiers of the Schumperk Legion deserted their swords, their spears and desperately tried to survive by dumping all their gear on the spot. And half succeeded in fleeing.

I can finally go home with this.

I can finally get out of hell.

Many, with that hope, even ran toward Schumperk.

But that hope will be crushed by the relentless pursuit of the Kingdom of Silesia's strongest cavalry unit, the Kingsguard Division's Third Cavalry Regiment.

Next January 4th at exactly 15: 00.

Those who escaped the fierce annihilation of the royalists were finally able to return to their strongholds. Major General Buraha, the commander, was also able to miraculously survive thanks to his escape earlier.

That regiment, which counted 20,000 at the time of the December 30 outbreak, was down to 17, including Major General Buraha, he said.
