Continental Hero Senki
Wandering Son's Home
Nothing is more troublesome than what times and states call "problems between men and women" in different ways.
This issue, which has been deeply involved in human society since ancient times of mythology, sometimes moves a great deal of history and sometimes destroys the country. Or for that purpose, they gave beauty to their enemies, whose beauty caused the kings of their enemies to hang out, and there were examples of nations actually decaying.
That is why this problem is deeply rooted and very troublesome once it is twisted.
Now, a man with such a troublesome and troublesome problem is in the Kingdom of Silesia on March 20, 638 of the Continental Calendar.
There was not one problem he had at the time. It was beside the great seriousness with which it was considering the problems involved in the survival of the state, that it sought to deal with the cumbersome challenges beyond that as well.
That is the beginning of the problem one day with words said by the woman with whom he and I have known each other the longest. But if that were the case, it might not have been a big problem. Because now this problem has become one involving more than one human being and nation. Besides, by his own failures.
He, Yuzef Waresa, was confessed to a woman.
"So, what do you think? Mr. Fine."
And it would be, or he had talked to another woman who was putting his thoughts on him.
Doing that makes it easier to talk.
"... ha"
As for her, I could only react like that.
In order to understand why we've fallen into this situation, we need to put the calendar back a little bit.
---
Continental calendar March 11, 638 at 10: 40 PM.
Carlsbert, we're done intervening in the civil war. The Emilia Division is finally back in Krakow. Now rest tight... there's no way. Waiting for me is a massive amount of paperwork accumulated in the Office of the Military Inspector of the Governor's Office. Naturally, my footsteps toward the Governor's office become dull. I don't want to go home.
No, that's still good. Because paperwork is getting used to a little bit. The problem is...
"I like Yuzef!
... Oh, no. I just remembered. What an embarrassment. Probably turning bright red right now. 'Cause you don't have a choice. Yeah, that's what they say. It's the first time in my life in 16 years and 255 months. What is it? It's too embarrassing, I want you to kill me already.
When I heard the conversation, I was pretty rough too, but Sarah was blushing for it. No, it's the usual thing.
'... Huh?
"... ah"
I felt "the feeling I said" from her somehow. I caught a glimpse of the part that looked like her, that I didn't mean to say it but I said it with momentum.
Well, the problem was her dialogue afterwards.
"Oh, uh, this is, uh, as a best friend! There's no way anyone wants to be a lover with Yuzef!!
I think I heard some terrible things about it, but, well, there you go, "Well, if that's what you mean, don't worry! not." You can't possibly be mistaken for saying so much... No, I don't know, maybe you're right. Because Sarah is suspicious of behavior.
...... yeah. You can't. I can't think together. I'm good at figuring out what the enemy's intent is to move soldiers, but I can't find a conclusion on what it means to rush it right after a woman confesses. What, are you a tundelle? Mr. Sarah, isn't that a bummer, one way or the other?
I guess we should ask the experts here. Like handsome Radek, who has a fiancée, or Maya, an elderly man. Oh, but Radek was a virgin until he had a fiancée named Mr. Lisel. That means we don't have romantic experiences like that.
I figured Maya would be good enough to have that experience because of the elderly. No, but, Mr. Maya, man. I don't care at all. Something's already said, "It's my happiness to be under His Highness Emilia. I don't need a man!" That's the style. Though I think you should get married as a duke's warrant.
"-? Mr. Yuzef?
"... Ah, yes. What is it, Your Highness?"
Soon I came close and finally noticed His Highness Emilia peeking in.
"Is that a thought?
"Yeah, well."
"Turn your face bright red?
"... with refusal to answer (no comment)"
When I say so, His Highness Emilia starts laughing with Couscous. Apparently, he got into a bump.
"Were you thinking of the lady from Ostmarc, who is not here?
"No, it's not."
Mr. Fine is not here right now. On the way home, he breaks up and goes to give reports and 'souvenirs' to the Ostmarc Imperial Intelligence Department. He told Krakow he'd be back soon, but I don't want him back too soon.
Anyway, now if I don't cloud my tea with appropriate excuses to His Highness Emilia, I'll be in trouble if I'm weirdly taken into account. Because His Highness said something weird, I was able to get back to being a part of it. Mostly my face.
"I was concerned about the trends in the Eastern Empire. As I've reported in the meantime, I'm pretty sure that country has intervened in this civil war..."
Hi. When I'm on the battlefield, I'm oblivious to the international situation. Basically, the information in his country will be via the Ostmarc Empire, beyond the fact that the Kingdom of Silesia has no intelligence agency, or at least the princess has no unique connection with the Empire. But you can't disclose all the information, and you have to pay for it, of course. I can't even tell if the information is correct.
"With that said, I got some information I was curious about. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
I probably couldn't believe half the information from the Grand Duke's Foreign Affairs Letter, but I also decided to believe it because His Highness Emilia said that there would be no lies in the content of that information.
"With the life of the Emperor of the Eastern Continent, Ivan Romanov X., Sergei Romanov was newly appointed to the post of Imperial Chancellor"
"... when?
"It was October 31st last year."
Long time ago. You mean when the civil war broke out, there was one division between politics in the empire?
Assuming that he was already in power before and after the outbreak of the civil war, the arson incident at President Carlsbert's office, which was the direct cause of the civil war, is likely to be described as an instruction by Sergei Romanov.
"Sergei has already announced some new policies."
"If the thought of his country is the reunification of the continent, then I guess all that policy means pre-preparation for the reunification of the continent. What about the contents?
"It's just that the title has been announced, and the subtleties are unknown. There are three main policies, specifically the liberation of serfs, the review of foreign policy, and disarmament."
"... disarmament?
"Yep. It is disarmament. No matter how much military power there is for the unity of the continent, it is surprising that disarmament will take place. I think we will compress fiscal spending and, for one thing, invest in home affairs…"
"Does the review of foreign policy… mean that we will do something about the framework of the anti-Silesian alliance and the conflict with the Second Reich of Christ? Maybe that's how we're going to get through the security crisis."
And I'm not sure if I say it.
He might make it look like he was disarming and actually expanding. There will be no choice but to get raw information around there.
If Mr. Fine were here at a time like this, I could talk to him about everything.
"Oh, Mr. Yuzef. Are you thinking about the example again?
Apparently, His Highness noticed a slight change in my expression. It's adorable that you're a little nibbly.
"I'm not thinking about Mr. Feene."
"Oh. I didn't say 'Mr. Feene', did I?
"Ah."
... Shit. I can't believe I'm hooked on such a simple trap.
Speaking of His Highness the one who hooked the trap, he looked a little angry to teach as he laughed at Couscous again.
"Absolutely. You don't like thinking about other women when you're talking to them."
"I'm sorry"
The tone sounded like a joke but my eyes were serious. Scary.
"Well, regardless of Mr. Yusef's poka, I do want information support from Ostmarc rather than say Mr. Fine...... We need to build an information network as soon as possible, but isn't there a good way..."
Information is power. It is not even acceptable to stand on the mound to the disadvantage without what we call information, whether on the battlefield, politics or anything. Sending intelligence agents to enemy countries is a simple hand, but that will take time to reach the center of the state. It's an efficient way to turn back people who are already at the center of the state, or who are likely to go to the center.
Well, the problem is that no one like that is wheezy. Moreover, due to the weakening of the Emperors of the Eastern Continent, there should be fewer human beings trying to blade at the Imperial Grand Nephew.
"... with that said, Your Highness. Is there any specific story regarding the conclusion of the Treaty of Reconciliation?
"Is it harmony?
The formal Treaty of Reconciliation for last spring's war has not yet been concluded. There is only a tentative agreement called the "Guinier Truce Agreement," officially the Silesian and Eastern Empires are at war. Consequently, the mobilisation of both countries has not yet been completely lifted, nor have the prisoners been freed.
Currently, His Royal Highness's nephew Sergei Romanov is the Imperial Chancellor. As an empire, would we want to reach a rapprochement at a time when the political situation has begun to stabilize?
If so, Silesia should also be prepared.
"When making that pact, I thought about contacting key figures in the empire to gather information, or setting a trap in the content of the pact to build an information network."
Then His Highness Emilia nodded deeply and again.
I didn't come up with a text on who to make contact with or what exactly, but would it also be a good idea to gather information in such a diplomatic setting?
Besides, the content of the Treaty of Reconciliation will probably be in favour of Silesia. At any rate, the trap looks like it can be put up, and we can call imperial diplomats and minister-level humans to Silesia, maybe.
"I see. That does seem to work. I will contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as soon as possible."
When His Highness says so, he leaves from under me on a small run and joins Mr. Maya to the Governor's Office. I suppose His Highness Emilia himself, or via the Governor's brother, Mr. Maya, will inquire.
Considering the distance from Wang Du to Krakow, it will be next week or so when I get a reply. Suppose we finish handling the Emilia Division's residual duties by then, and the administrative handover from His Excellency the Governor General?
