Between Stories: A Fiancee's Tale Part 2

"So, what did your dad say after all?

"... you know about marriage. I'm sure you'll be fine with the Ministry of Military Affairs, but don't worry, I'll keep my dad around."

"That's good. So it's sunny and we're getting married."

The following evening of March 21. Just finishing the big job the day before, Yuzef and Radek were reporting on the results of each job at the Mass Tavern in Wangdu. Some alcohol, too.

When Yuzef raises the glass, Radek also lightly hits Yuzef's glass accordingly. The glass-specific sound echoed, but it vanished before the noise of the tavern.

"You've been granted permission a lot. You're usually married and then you make kids, but this time you make kids and then you get married, right? Mr. Liselle is a nobleman's maid, and you didn't have to deal with the face around there?

"No, don't lie if you say so. My mother told me a small novel... but I decided to marry her originally, and I had a baby, so my father and mother both made it through the marriage."

"I see..."

With that said, Yuzef replenishes the glass with booze. On his desk was juxtaposed fruit liquor (liqueur), carbonated water and orange juice, a somewhat unusual way of drinking that he said he would mix it with his own formula.

"Well, I think the best decision is' I can have a grandson '"

"Uh... I think I get it. That's all grandchildren can do to calm their parents."

"That's what I'm talking about"

With that said, Radek remembered his father's attitude and words, and whilst he went a little crazy he poured barley wine (beer).

When Radek returned home, his father greeted him directly at the front door. While preparing to know all the circumstances, Radek said everything depended on the matter, but his father was quite wolfish at the time.

His father knew he was coming back, but he didn't know he had a grandson. And after confirming twice and three times that he had a grandson, he rejoiced greatly, and his mother praised him for it. It was impossible for me to laugh when I was shown a couple plays in front of me that I had never seen before.

My mother scolded me, including laughing at me.

"Even so, both Radek and Lisel are in love at first sight. The one who met destiny?

Yuzef changes the subject by ignoring the front and rear context.

His face was already red, enough for Radek to know he was drunk. For a moment I thought it might be time to stop for Yuzef, who said he didn't like alcohol. But the evil thought of crushing Yuzef held it back, and Radek couldn't stop his friend from drinking deeply.

"That's the place. I don't know much about that."

"Why?"

"It's decided because you're embarrassed."

That's what Radek said, scratching his head, while dyeing his cheeks slightly red. It was easy to see if that was due to alcohol or otherwise.

"Hmm, do you think the children of a couple who had such a fateful encounter were either male or female?

"You're the guy... well, okay.... Either way, but you're a girl if you ask me which one."

"Oh, I knew it?

"I knew it?

"Ancient now, East and West, in any world, I think the father wants a daughter first. So, when you make two or so daughters money, you say," It's time for a boy. "

"... you know what?"

"That's what it is. You call me Ichihihiko Ertaro. The father wants a daughter first."

"No, I think it's a little different, huh?

"Am I?

"Oh. Well, I guess my oldest daughter wanted to help her mother, so she meant it was easy to raise her kids."

"That's a child making expert (professional), you know it well"

"Don't say that because it's misleading."

Then he wanted to be angry that it didn't matter who he was making children, but he just didn't feel like saying such embarrassment aloud in the tavern.

"And Yuzef, you already have a daughter before you say this to me, don't you?

"What? I'm still single, I don't have a daughter"

"You're here, Julia."

"... No, that's Sarah's kid. You're a child, an adopted child or a guardian."

"Miss Marinovska said she was your child, too."

"No way, there's no blood connection, no legal connection. Not to mention Sarah, the main one I'm raising, and I'm not supposed to be a parent."

"Or so it is."

"Sort of. But for Julia, it would still be hard to be a single parent. Sarah's busy in the military, too, and I'm anxious to leave young Julia in the government building. I wish I'd just gotten married."

Slightly flattered, Yuzef said that. From Radek's point of view, that was a slightly different sight.

"Well, you take it."

"... no, I'm not going to. I told you before. And Sarah said she had a fiancée."

"Huh? Is Miss Marinovska here too?

"Ah? You haven't heard?... Then let's not ask now, Sarah will beat you up"

"Ah, ah..."

Radek did not pursue the matter any further. Not that I didn't care, but because I was guessing what that word and attitude of Yuzef meant.

Yuzef says, "You just have to marry your fiancée" after taking a serious thought about a friend's child and being a little grumpy. Radek, who saw it, found a conclusion, and laughed at it when he went crazy about that conclusion he had made himself.

"Mm-hmm. What's wrong with you? Suddenly you nibble. Come on, Radek."

"Nothing. I was just laughing when I found out you were a freak."

"I don't know what that means..."

Then a few hours later. Yuzef is completely intoxicated, and sleeps rammed to the table. I am not snoring, but I am asleep no matter how I see it. Watching such a friend's sleeping face, Radek kept drinking the little one and the rest of the distilled liquor (vodka), and thinking.

I was inflating my imagination by crossing expectations with alcohol about what this friend's future would look like.

But he will not put the imagination into his mouth, and this is the word that he hath put out instead.

"... is it funny for you to watch?"
