Caroyano Cavalry Battle - Posthumous

Abandoned rural area located southeast of Caroyano. There sits about 500 Cavalry of the Second Reich Central Army (Tagma) of Christ, currently an uninvited guest for Ostmarc.

The sudden Ostmarc invasion of the central army did not give the Ostmarc army enough time to carry out Operation Scorched Earth. Consequently abandoned rural areas remained stockpiled with military horse bait, as well as human food across military horses, making it an impeccable military base for improvisation.

But that's also now back in the day.

As of 1600 hours, the central army cavalry in this village is forced to make a decision.

"... Hasn't any troops come back"

The officer left in the village asks a subordinate who was nearby a question that he did not know how many times he had heard. The deputy captain's face is done, and because of it, he has a face that makes him think more than double his real age. Whoever saw it, it would have been the face of a pathetic defeated soldier who understood defeat.

"Yes. Five squadrons out, still unknown."

…………

The officer's answer to his subordinates' answers was still silence for the first time today.

Captain Major Coniates or less, all five squadrons in half of this cavalry battalion have not returned. What is even more problematic is that some of its non-returned human beings have a large captain, a deputy battalion captain.

Both the big captain and the deputy captain were obsessed with attacking the defenseless heavy soldiers and setting up the medal, so they both marched out even though one of them would have to stay in base and lead the remaining troops.

And neither is returned.

It was therefore the new captain who was the wingman in determining the fate of this cavalry battalion, and besides, he was a supply officer who had no experience in leading the troops in action.

"... Captain, what do you do?

One of my men, a lieutenant who leads a unit in action, pressed for a decision. But so imminent, it is also not so easy for a captain, a supply officer, to draw conclusions.

At present, two options are available before the captain's eyes.

One is to form a sentry unit, or reinforcement unit, to confirm and rendezvous with the survival of the outgoing unit, and the second is to withdraw, if you will.

But the first proposal is that even reinforcements cannot abandon the possibility of further damage being attacked, and the second proposal could leave the possibly alive marching troops in the enemy.

Either way, for the captain, no, this cavalry battalion will cause serious losses. Therefore the captain was troubled.

But I don't have time to worry either. Whether you're sending out a sentry or retreating, there's nothing you can do without a decision to stop until sundown. The day is over.

"Captain."

The lieutenant, who knows that, urges again. We don't have time.

After another silence, the captain was to skip instructions to the operational unit for the first time since joining the army.

"... Can't you do anything with less information,? Lieutenant."

"Ha, what is it"

The captain breathes heavily and answers heavily.

"I want to get the sentry out and see what's going on. Will you form a unit?"

"So, may I join you in my 7th Squadron?

"............ I'll take care of it"

For the first time, the instructions he gave to the operational troops were a huge mess and a great deal of responsibility, strategically and tactically important and, above all, too late.

"... bingo!

Sgt. Sarah Marinovska, seconded as military adviser to the Ostmarc Imperial Army, saw it with monoculars while hiding in the bushes, and revealed his joy with a small voice.

What she is now in was a hill near a deserted countryside, and that countryside, was where the central army cavalry was stationed.

"That's my Yuzef."

She shrugged emphatically at the "mine" part as she nibbled so much that it was not strange to be reported to the government constitution if it was all over the city.

The way she got here was simple.

Five squadrons of cavalry, now led by the late Major Coniates, have been out of every place, every point for the past four days, and while watching the Ostmarc heavy soldiers they encountered, the Ostmarc army also watched over them.

Underneath the central army cavalry information obtained by the reconnaissance forces, Yuzef challenged the identification of the countryside where they were based.

Most importantly, this was not what the central army had gathered to develop a heavy army transport route to hang on to Yuzef's prepared trap, not even thinking about base raids.

But as a result of Major Coniates' stickiness over a few days, an enormous amount of information was sent under him. Except when this happens.

"The number of rural areas to be based is certainly high. And enemies were difficult to identify because they frequently moved their strongholds. But thanks to the discretion of the enemy commanders, we could predict from their line of action the general location of the base"

Yuzef said so, analyzing the maps together with information from the reconnaissance unit, and came to a conclusion.

"There are four rural areas east of here that are likely to be enemy strongholds around Caroyano. But the troop's line of action is shifting south on day one, so we can exclude the countryside at the end of the north. Then there are three places left."

But he couldn't tell which of those three locations was the real base. Sarah was the last of the packs.

In other words, she has an exceptional sense of smell on the battlefield and wants to identify it with a woman's cane. It was a non-Yuzef-like suggestion in a way, but Sarah rode his expectations, or his bets.

"Okay. I'll borrow a thousand cavalry men!

It cannot possibly have been, for example, that she, the military adviser, stood at the forefront and commanded the troops, but Brigadier General Matheus authorized the action by saying "as the Goddess said".

And Sarah won the bet. She identified the base of the enemy cavalry in one shot.

But what Sarah was ahead to see with her monoculars was the appearance of a busy moving central army. It goes without saying that that is proof that the launch will take place shortly.

"You don't have time. Before they go out... Oh, but I think it would be better if we attacked them just before they leave because they panic too..."

How many people on this continent will be able to stop it when Sarah, who has the best ability as a samurai, imitates Yuzef's ploy?

That, at least, wasn't around this countryside.
