Chapter 1410 - 111: Focus
The room was very small.
With one glance, Fatty could tell that even at a depth of 800 meters underground, the walls of this room were constructed with ultra-hard alloy no less than two hundred centimeters thick. There was probably blast-resistant concrete outside as well. Forget about digging through walls; even a nuclear blast wouldn’t harm this room in the slightest.
This was the underground military laboratory of Hanjing Military Academy. Such rooms were present in most military laboratories. During wartime, they served as the final vault for a nation’s secret technologies.
However, clearly Haifer would not be that generous. What he provided was merely the space, and the large computer placed in the center of the room was none other than the experimental computer from the Gallipalan Military Laboratory.
Like the circular thrusters at the tail of a warship, its somewhat old-fashioned silver-gray exterior, and the blue light flickering in the central transparent pipeline – it was all so familiar to Fatty. Being forced by Boswell to learn on this computer, observing blueprints under Milan’s gunpoint, now felt like just yesterday when recalling it.
Fatty shed silent tears, regretting the decisions of his past.
It was at Gallipalan Laboratory that he was first compromised to Milan, and step by step, forced by several old geezers onto the path he was now on.
Damn it, after all the hardships he endured, with all the achievements he had made, not a single one of those old guys gave him any benefits. Not a penny to be seen, and he still got beaten by Milan......
Boswell walked to the central computer, sat down in front of the console, turned on several hardware switches on the computer, entered the permissions, and then from the complex files, retrieved a program and initiated it.
The floating virtual screen of the computer quietly hovered in the void of the room. As colorful blobs of light danced and gathered, it resembled the vibrant lights of a stage.
Moments later, with the appearance of several planets, the light screen seemed to become a part of the universe.
Planets wrapped in gas and dust, dazzling constant stars, space debris gliding past, distant nebula... everything appeared so real and yet so dreamlike.
Dozens of red lines appeared on the screen. These lines formed a three-dimensional corridor. The corridor twisted and transformed. Soon, dozens of yellow dots appeared, accompanied by rapidly changing data beneath them, entering the corridor. At this moment, the space around the screen faced intense interference, also starting to distort.
The distorted jump corridor eventually stabilized. The data represented by a line of yellow dots resembling an ellipsis indicating the jump phase also finally froze.
"Do you know where this is?" Boswell asked.
Fatty shook his head; vast cosmic spaces had so many such corridors. Ignoring those he had never seen, even if he had traversed this corridor before, besides seasoned navigators, how many could identify the surroundings with just a glance?
"Right at Chuckna, not far from Canglang Star," Boswell said, "This was originally just an abandoned corridor of the Mining Star System. The reason for choosing it is because this Jump Point was also where your parents once performed a space exploration jump aboard that Silver Shuttle-class exploration ship."
"Oh." Fatty gazed at the virtual display and suddenly felt this ordinary Star Domain became instantly mysterious and endearing.
Boswell tapped on the virtual keyboard.
With the appearance of blue lines and green dots, Fatty held his breath. The intense heartbeat felt like it echoed through the entire room.
He knew this was the penetration model of Boswell’s new Space Jump Technology.
As long as the blue lines and green dots could overlap with the previous red lines and yellow dots under certain conditions, it would mean the success of the new Space Jump Technology.
The certain conditions referred to the specific speed of the spaceship crossing the Jump Point, jump engine thrust, space curvature device power, and so on.
On the right side of the virtual screen, several data panels appeared on cue. These were the control instruments for the spaceship’s navigation and jump propulsion system.
The blue lines and green dots began moving toward the Space Jump Point. A white cursor representing the spaceship, wrapped in lines, flew through a series of dots towards the center of the corridor. Alongside, the data on the control panel changed rapidly with the cursor’s movement.
Level 1 speed, engine output at thirty percent power, spatial disturbance value of curvature device at seventeen percent......
The white cursor steadily flew toward the Jump Point. The first blue line overlapped with the red line, and as the spaceship passed, the green dot beneath the ship matched the yellow dot, with the data beneath the dots abruptly halting amidst rapid changes.......
Fatty tightly clenched his fist, seeing the predetermined data of the green dots and yellow dots match perfectly.
The spaceship continued to accelerate, and the values of the engine and curvature device swiftly shifted.
The second line overlapped, the second dot matched, the third line overlapped, the third dot matched........The spaceship represented by the white cursor got faster and faster. As it moved, the surrounding circle lines and dots extending into the corridor seemed to move as well, creating a dizzying effect. Initially, Fatty could make out the data with each line overlap, but eventually, as the red and blue lines rapidly merged, and the green dots raced along the signpost-like yellow dots, it all became a blur of light and shadow at last.
