Ann Lei glanced at Fatty, who had swiftly fallen into "unconsciousness," and with a smile, gently closed the door.

This was the most luxurious ward in the Army General Hospital. The entire room was decorated in an old-fashioned palace style. Outside Fatty’s room was a long corridor. The corridor walls were clad with dark coffee-colored wooden wainscoting and cream-colored wallpaper.

Every few meters along the long corridor, there was a copper-plated palace wall lamp. Between the lamps, dozens of portrait oil paintings were hung. The people in these portraits, dressed in Chuckna uniforms with resolute expressions and shining eyes, were all the most renowned generals of Chuckna. Their achievements had become a legend in Chuckna.

Walking through this quiet corridor and past these portraits felt like traversing the history of the country. It was indeed these individuals who, during various periods of Chuckna’s history, led the country’s armies on the battlefield, forging Chuckna’s unconquerable myth. Fatty being able to stay in this ward was in itself a supreme honor.

After passing through two dustproof automatic doors with faux-wood exteriors, the spacious and luxurious reception room appeared before Ann Lei.

Despite being psychologically prepared for the people in the reception room, Ann Lei still felt a bit uneasy when she saw the room full of high-ranking officers from Chuckna and the Allies, and being the focus of everyone’s attention.

Seeing Ann Lei step out of the ward, everyone in the living room felt their eyes brighten.

The girl in front of them had long wavy hair, fair skin, and her soft cashmere sweater and tight skirt highlighted her graceful figure meticulously. She was beautiful, without a shred of arrogance. Her entire being exuded a gentle and quiet demeanor that seemed to emanate from her bones. People found it hard to avert their gaze from her just standing there silently.

"Lucky brat, quite the peach blossom luck." The Old Marshal Li Cunxin admired, taking a sip of his drink. His gaze shifted, noticing Margaret’s disapproving glance aimed at him.

While Ann Lei was likened to a pristine magnolia, Margaret before them was a captivating tulip. Thinking about the pure-hearted female researcher, Li Cunxin couldn’t help but sigh, "I may not have spoken correctly; his luck is not just good. If I were forty or fifty years younger, I’d be out competing with him right now."

Margaret’s face reddened slightly; she lightly spat at Li Cunxin before turning to walk towards Ann Lei.

Almost simultaneously, everyone averted their gaze.

Some continued chatting, others drinking. Even Military God Hastings focused intently on the television in the living room. However, upon closer observation, one would notice these important figures all perked up their ears like children.

"May I go in?" Margaret approached Ann Lei, her enchanting green eyes resembling a lazy cat with the mysterious allure embedded in her genes since ancient times.

"Of course," Ann Lei softly brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, smiled lightly, and stepped aside to let Margaret pass.

"If you have time, I’d like to invite you out for some shopping," Margaret held Ann Lei’s hand and said.

"Sure," Ann Lei answered gently.

The two girls laughed as they held hands and then parted ways with a smile. Margaret’s slender hand waved lightly like a little cat’s paw, fingers curling gently as she made a farewell gesture and stepped through the dustproof automatic doors. Ann Lei, on the other hand, shyly nodded and smiled at those present before leaving the ward’s door.

A bunch of old men in the living room exchanged glances.

Li Cunxin downed his drink appreciatively.

"Damn it!"

*********************************************************************************

Margaret gently opened the door and looked at the bed where Fatty lay in the ward.

The inner ward wasn’t as elaborately decorated as the outer area. Instead, it was extremely simple and modern.

Soft synthetic leather wrapped the white walls. The equally white ceiling housed shadowless electronic lights, whose glow softly diffused across the room.

All around, intelligent monitoring systems quietly displayed graphs and data, while Fatty lay peacefully on the wide and soft alloy hospital bed, breathing evenly.

"Haven’t you woken up yet?" Margaret took off her high heels at the door, tiptoeing lightly with her stockinged feet, gracefully walked to the bed.

Fatty’s ears perked up.

"Your people say you’ve been in a coma all along," Margaret said softly, sitting at the bedside. The soft mattress slightly sank down. Fatty just felt a pair of soft hands gently massaging his arm as Margaret spoke in a low voice, "But I know you actually woke up a long time ago."

Damn it, Fatty closed his eyes, I’m not awake.

"If you insist, there’s nothing I can do," Margaret’s voice carried a shade of grievance, but suddenly Fatty realized the hands that had been massaging his arm had moved to his leg, pressing and sliding up the inner thigh towards the root of his leg.

"I really don’t know what to do to get you to wake up," Margaret’s voice was soft, tinged with a lazy, coquettish demeanor, "I’m really at a loss."

Fatty’s body trembled, his teeth clenching tightly.

The room was silent, and a moment later, Margaret looked at the tent rising on the thin blanket and chuckled softly.

Fatty closed his eyes, his face flushed red, continuing to play dead.

"Fatty, your brother is way more honest than you." Margaret’s breath poured directly into Fatty’s ear. Within her giggles, there was a soul-stealing allure, making one’s heart itch restlessly.

"I’m not opening my eyes." Fatty grumbled determinedly, squeezing his eyes shut so tightly that his eyelids wrinkled together. He internally scolded his ’second’: "Damn, just a little leg-root teasing and you can’t hold back, standing up clumsily to observe the enemy. I’m pissed off; five against one!"

After scolding for a long while, he found his ’little brother’ still smugly nodding its head, and he felt exceptionally defeated. His hand quietly reached down to press down the tent.

The room fell silent again. Only Margaret’s series of tinkling laughter could be heard.

"Laugh your ass off," Fatty said angrily. Suddenly, he felt the blanket on him being lifted slightly. A warm, slick body silently slid in.

Fatty opened his eyes in shock. Beside the pillow, before him, were strands of light gold hair spreading out, dreamlike, as if sunshine streaming through a gauze window into the Dawn Study Room.

The hair was silky, accompanying Margaret’s slow descent, finally sticking tightly to his chest, sliding smoothly past his cheek, flowing to his neck, like a still whirlpool.

Soft, smooth limbs like ribbons wrapped tightly around him. At his waist, the resilient jade breast, like soap touched by water. A gentle touch awakened skin’s hunger, multiplying perception twelvefold to feel that round, smooth warmth like a pearl.

The arm at his side was pulled up, placed onto a back as smooth as jade.

Fatty turned his head, under the white shadowless lamp, around the soft hospital bed, clothes carrying a warm fragrance were scattered. Their owner was curled up in his arms, like an endearing little cat.

"Stupid Fatty," Margaret murmured, holding Fatty tightly, "Why did you pounce on me? Do you know you almost lost your life!"

Fatty froze, suddenly recalling his beast-like pounce on Margaret, trying to seize that last advantage, and felt flush with shame, wishing he could find a crack to hide in... If he had known he wouldn’t die, he wouldn’t have been so beastly. Being teased kindly by her was unbearably awkward!

Unable to see Fatty’s embarrassment, Margaret’s face gently rubbed against his chest, murmuring softly, "Moved Old Mum to tears, what good does it do for you?"

Moved?!

Fatty rolled his eyes, pondering for a long time, failing to understand why this little witch was moved by being taken advantage of. Was his Hungry Tiger Pounce not fierce enough?

Not hearing Fatty’s answer, Margaret suddenly lifted her head. Fatty didn’t have time to close his eyes, only able to look at her stupidly.

Their eyes locked, large eyes staring into small ones.

"Just met Ann Lei at the door, she’s so beautiful, beautiful enough to be envied." After a long stare, Margaret spoke softly, "You’ll marry her, right?"

Fatty looked into Margaret’s eyes, suddenly noticing a thin mist rising in those deep green eyes.

A sense of guilt welled within, and Fatty nodded with difficulty.

"Alright, I lost." Margaret whispered, resting her chin lightly on Fatty’s chest, "Before coming here, I made up my mind. Marry a chicken, follow a chicken; marry a dog, follow a dog. If you want to squeeze Grandpa, I’ll help you squeeze him. You want to win, so I’ll lose to you first... so you don’t have to struggle. Yours is yours, mine is also yours."

"Forget our numerous past transactions," Margaret pressed her face to Fatty’s chest, holding him tight, "Aren’t you used to making raw rice into cooked rice? Now, you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity..."

The sun-like golden hair, strands falling down. Margaret’s face showed a blush with a hint of defiance. Fatty suddenly felt Margaret’s bare body becoming scorching at some unknown point.

"But, the extent of winning depends on your skills."

Margaret straightened her waist, letting the thin white blanket slide to her slender waist.

She gazed at Fatty with eyes full of allure, separated her legs, and her soft hand gently reached down, grasping that heat. Round, white hips slightly lifted, then slowly descended.

Her hair fluttered, her starry eyes blurred, and Margaret bit her lip painfully, letting out a long, soul-stirring moan, softly trembling, "This... is a war."
