Chapter 402 - 34: Taiqing Divine Light (2)
Ye Yan nodded.
As Fang Cheng’s mind raced, a plan quickly took shape.
Before he left, he decided he would place a Profound Yellow Cloud Smoke Talisman and a Dream Spirit Incarnation on Primordial Qi Celestial Island and another set within the Yinluo Sect.
With a Five-stage Profound Yellow Cloud Smoke Talisman and the Defense Array at each location, even a Dharma Cultivator would be powerless against them for a time.
And that wasn’t even counting the Dream Spirit Incarnations standing guard...
Unless the Sect Leader of the Ten Thousand Transformations Sect came in person, no one else would be qualified to force him to reveal these trump cards.
...
From a jungle on the southern side of Primordial Qi Celestial Island, the faint sounds of joyous laughter could be heard.
A dozen or so boys and girls were gathered in a forest clearing, watching two slightly older boys spar with techniques.
One of them was a sturdily built boy of about thirteen or fourteen. Despite his age, he had a Seventh-Layer Sensing Cultivation. His eyes were clear and bright, and he radiated a clever air. He was standing on a cloud that looked like a tuft of white cotton, wielding a streak of sword light against the other youth.
This boy was none other than Fang Cheng’s eldest son, Fang Jingyuan. His mother was Ye Yan. Having been doted on since birth, he had a carefree personality and loved being in the spotlight.
The youth sparring with him was named Fang Jingxuan, born a few months after Jingyuan. His mother was Mu Xuanyu.
Fang Jingxuan was mature for his age, with a slender build. He was usually quiet and taciturn, diligent in his studies when no one was watching, and took great care of his younger siblings.
He activated several Talismans, which transformed into a dazzling flurry of light that calmly blocked his older brother’s sharp sword light, earning cheers from his younger siblings.
The one cheering the loudest was a girl of about ten, her hair done up in two coils. She wore a short blouse and a long skirt and had an innocent, lively air about her. Delicate and full of spirit, her name was Fang Jingyue, and her mother was Wen Qianqian.
Ordinarily, Fang Jingxuan spent most of his time with Wen Qianqian. He had studied many of the Myriad Phenomena Immortal Sect’s Talisman Techniques and Arrays under her tutelage since childhood. His talent for the Array Dao was particularly astonishing, endearing him greatly to Wen Qianqian.
As a result, Fang Jingyue grew closer to her second brother than to any of her other siblings.
Fang Jingyuan had idolized his father from a young age and was obsessed with Sword Techniques. When Fang Cheng guided his cultivation, he focused on learning Sword Techniques above all else.
His sword light was agile, like a coiling dragon weaving through the sky. It came and went like a flash of lightning, displaying his remarkable Swordsmanship.
Hearing his sister cheering for his opponent, he couldn’t help but protest, "Jingyue, why do you always take Second Brother’s side? I’m always good to you!"
Fang Jingyue giggled. "Second Brother is going to be Mother’s successor. Who else would I cheer for?"
Jingyuan was also a little frustrated. He couldn’t understand why his second brother would ignore the Divine Techniques of the Yinluo Sect and the Flame God Palace, preferring to study the Myriad Phenomena Immortal Sect’s Talisman and Array Dao. It truly baffled him.
’With the Fang Family’s status, auxiliary skills like these could be left to the Honored Guest Elders to practice,’ he thought. ’Why waste your own time on them?’
’The family’s long-term prosperity will depend on raw power and Divine Techniques!’
’Whether the Fang Family flourishes in our generation will depend on how fast and sharp my sword is.’
Therefore, Jingyuan was rather critical of his younger brother’s painstaking research into Arrays.
To his frustration, however, when it actually came to sparring, Fang Jingxuan’s abilities were no weaker than his own...
Just as the two reached a stalemate, Die’Er, clad in an aqua-green dress, floated over and said with a smile, "Jingyuan, Jingxuan, stop for now. Your father is calling for you."
Fang Jingyuan retracted his sword light and looked directly at Jingxuan. "Second Brother," he said, "in a few more months, once I comprehend the Sword Heart Clarity Realm, you’ll be no match for me."
Fang Jingxuan smiled faintly, offering no comment. He turned to Die’Er and asked, "Auntie Die, why is Father looking for us?"
The other younger siblings also looked at Die’Er curiously.
Die’Er smiled. "I hear he’s taking you two brothers to the Wilderness Domain. Apparently, the largest market city in the Eastern Wilderness is holding a massive auction, and many rare treasures will be there. Your father wants to take you to broaden your horizons."
Fang Jingyue’s eyes widened as she asked, "Auntie Die, is he just taking the two of them? Is he not taking the rest of us?"
Die’Er looked at her with adoration and said gently, "You’re all still too young. You can go in a few years."
Jing Yue was instantly displeased. Pouting, she said huffily, "No! I’m going to find Mother..."
As she spoke, a Profound Light flashed around her, and she shakily summoned an Escape Light, wobbling through the air toward Wen Qianqian’s residence.
Fang Cheng’s other children also erupted into a commotion, all shouting that they were going to find an adult to argue their case.
Just then, Fang Jingyuan’s expression turned stern. "Be quiet," he said. "When I return, I’ll bring you all delicious food and fun toys. But anyone who doesn’t listen won’t get their share!"
Only then did the group of boys and girls fall silent.
...
When Fang Cheng saw his two sons, his gaze paused, lingering on his second son, Jingxuan, for a moment.
’How did the Array Spirit Maiden from the Myriad Phenomena Immortal Sect end up with Xuan’er?’
He wondered to himself but didn’t point it out. The Array Spirit Maiden had accepted Wen Qianqian as her master and had spent the past several years passing on the legacy of the Myriad Phenomena Immortal Sect to her.
’Her hiding on Fang Jingxuan now probably serves the same purpose.’
The two brothers had never even left the Abyssal Marsh in all their years, let alone traveled to the distant Wilderness Domain via an Ancient Transmission Array. So, when they heard Fang Cheng was taking them to a grand event in the Cultivation Realm, they were naturally thrilled.
Jingyuan’s excitement, needless to say, was written all over his face. Even the usually taciturn Jingxuan had an unusual sparkle in his eyes.
Jingyuan asked jubilantly, "Father, I hear there are many powerful fierce beasts in the Wilderness Domain. Can you take me to slay a few Tier Three Fierce Beasts?"
Fang Cheng chuckled, curious. "What would you do with a Tier Three Fierce Beast?"
Jingyuan replied, "I want to see how a true Sword Cultivator uses Slaughter Swordsmanship. It should help me improve my own Swordsmanship."
Fang Cheng chuckled. "A Sword Technique can only be truly honed through the crucible of combat. When we get to the Wilderness, I’ll find you a few Tier Two Fierce Beasts to practice on."
"Tier Two?" Jingyuan’s eyes widened, thinking he must have misheard.
Fang Cheng nodded. "You have a good foundation. If you push yourself, you might just be able to defy the odds and slay a Tier Two Fierce Beast."
Jingyuan glanced at his brother, Jingxuan, and said with a pained expression, "Father, I think it might be better to start with a Tier One Late Stage fierce beast. What if..."
Fang Jingxuan suddenly interjected, "Don’t be afraid, Big Brother. I’ll be there to support you."
As father and sons spoke, Fang Cheng sent out several Golden Sword Communications to inform Wen Qianqian and Sun Fuguo on Yinluo Island. Afterward, he took his two sons from Primordial Qi Celestial Island, passed through the Teleportation Array on Yinluo Island, and departed for the Wilderness Domain.
...
「Yinluo Villa」
As the father and his two sons stepped out of the Teleportation Array, they were greeted by a beautiful young matron in a long dress, her temperament both dignified and gentle.
Her long dress swayed in the breeze, cinched at the waist by a white silk ribbon that left her stunning figure on full display. The corners of her eyes held a hint of seductive charm, lending her an exquisite grace.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of a visit from the two young masters?"
A flicker of surprise crossed Hua Yutang’s eyes as she greeted them with a smile.
Fang Cheng introduced her to the two brothers. "This is your Fifth Junior Aunt."
Jingyuan and Jingxuan immediately bowed respectfully.
Hua Yutang, all smiles, immediately produced two bottles of Spirit Pills as a gift for the brothers. She then offered a few words of praise for the two youths in front of Fang Cheng before leading them to a Cave Mansion on Taiyue Mountain to settle in.
Cai Li was in seclusion and did not make an appearance. The other resident Elders came to pay their respects and then quickly departed.
This left Hua Yutang to entertain them with Spirit Tea and Spirit Fruits unique to the Wilderness.
Jingyuan and Jingxuan, being on Taiyue Mountain for the first time, were filled with curiosity and couldn’t sit still in the Cave Mansion. After a short while, the brothers asked Fang Cheng for permission to go and explore the mountain.
Fang Cheng smiled and agreed. He then quietly released two Resentment Celestial Demons, concealing them in the void to watch over his sons in secret.
With the pair of old flames left alone in the Cave Mansion, it was inevitable that they would rekindle their passion. From the Jade Couch to the bath, and even with the help of a Profound Fire Pill that Fang Cheng hadn’t used in a long time... the scene was one of endless fragrance and intoxicating charm.
It was not until night fell, the sky brilliant with dueling stars and moonlight, that the sound of the brothers’ conversation was heard at the entrance of the Cave Mansion.
Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang had both changed their clothes and were now sitting upright in the main hall of the Cave Mansion, quietly playing a board game and sipping tea with an air of relaxed leisure.
Two streaks of Li Hen Demon Light passed silently through the Cave Mansion’s main entrance, flying behind Fang Cheng before vanishing from sight.
"Tomorrow I’ll take them out for a bit, and then we’ll head straight to the Celestial Traveling Immortal Pavilion," Fang Cheng said, placing a piece on the game board.
Hua Yutang gave him a seductive glance, tinged with a hint of complaint, but she did not try to make him stay.
Cai Li was in seclusion, attempting a breakthrough, which meant Hua Yutang had to manage all the affairs on the mountain, large and small. If not for this, she would have certainly accompanied Fang Cheng to the Celestial Traveling Immortal Pavilion.
