Qin Shaonan said, "Her belly looks pretty big already, she’s five months along."

What he meant couldn’t have been clearer—Shaoling was obviously keeping this child.

Once the three of them had finished talking business and trained for a while, they each went home.

Huo Jinnan went back to his place, took a hot shower, put on a bathrobe and went to the living room, leaning back on the sofa when he saw the doctor who was helping him with rehab.

The doctor examined him.

After the exam, he looked at Huo Jinnan. "There shouldn’t be any major problems anymore. You survived a plane crash; living a few more decades won’t be an issue, unless you go through some massive shock."

Huo Jinnan said, "Got it. Can I smoke again?"

The doctor looked at Huo Jinnan. "Shouldn’t be a problem. Smoke as you like."

Huo Jinnan heard that, let out a long breath of relief, sat there, glanced at the pack of cigarettes on the coffee table that hadn’t been touched in ages, and chain-smoked three in a row, exhaling thick clouds of smoke.

The doctor, "..."

It was just a few months without smoking, was this really necessary?

Once he’d had his fill, Huo Jinnan flicked away the butt and looked at the doctor. "When does your boss have time? I want to buy him a meal."

The doctor said, "Alright, I’ll ask him."

The next night, Huo Jinnan hosted a banquet for Ji Bo, with Acheng and Fang Zheng standing off to the side.

The two men sat face to face, drinking with a kind of aloof, high-class cool—one mature and restrained to just the right degree, the other born with a dark aura, as if fused with the way he was dressed.

After a while, Ji Bo looked at Huo Jinnan. "Thank you, Mayor Huo, for the hospitality."

Huo Jinnan set down his wine glass and looked at Ji Bo. "There’s a ’Bo’ in both our names. You could say it’s fate."

Ji Bo looked at Huo Jinnan.

From what he knew, if someone like Ji Bo wanted to do something, there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish—he just usually didn’t bother being interested.

Huo Jinnan looked at Ji Bo and suddenly laughed.

Ji Bo also smiled, sitting there like he’d been born a king.

The two of them never mentioned the Huo Family, never brought up Huo Jinnan, and certainly didn’t touch on the plane crash. They simply drank, ate, and chatted.

They were both smart men; silence said more than words.

When it was time to part, the two of them stood at the hotel entrance, chatting idly like old friends who’d known each other for years.

Only when he saw Acheng drive back did Ji Bo look at Huo Jinnan and end the conversation. "Next time, it’ll be my treat."

Huo Jinnan said, "Alright."

He lightly patted Ji Bo on the shoulder.

Ji Bo gave Huo Jinnan a brief smile and got into the car.

Once the car door closed and he was seated inside, the smile hidden in those long, narrow eyes vanished in an instant.

Acheng sat beside him.

Ji Bo said, "Book a decent hotel, and make sure he ’happens’ to find out."

Acheng said, "Yes, sir."

The black car slowly pulled away.

Huo Jinnan stood there, watching the direction the black car disappeared in, lit a cigarette, took a drag, and then Fang Zheng drove over.

Huo Jinnan got in the car and called Yan Xiaoxi. "You asleep?"
