Over the vast ocean.

A commercial airplane is speeding at a low altitude at a speed of 200 meters per second.

The massive fuselage and wings create a deafening whoosh as they slice through the air.

But if you look closely, you’ll notice,

this plane isn’t powered on.

Not even the turbine fans on either side are spinning.

Yet it glides smoothly in midair.

This counterintuitive and defiant-of-physics scene has amazingly appeared in reality.

At this moment, the crew and passengers inside the cabin, including the captain sitting in the cockpit, are somewhat puzzled.

In fact, most passengers still believe it was the captain’s extreme maneuvers that saved them during the plummet.

Typically, commercial airliner wings are designed with an upward curve, known as an "aerodynamic shape." As the plane moves forward, air flows over both the upper and lower surfaces of the wings. But now they have descended to an altitude of less than a thousand meters, and the engines have stopped running, yet the plane is still flying normally.
