Chapter 1389 - 1388: Competition Everywhere

Sponsored

"Based on the data we’ve received so far, we’ve analyzed that roughly fifteen million workers in Nagariel are currently working for the Federation’s enterprises, and this number is bound to keep growing."

In the meeting room of the Workers’ Union headquarters, the branch president who has just returned from Nagariel is sharing some of his experiences from over there.

"Whether it’s in Nagariel or here in the Federation, the demand for high-level skilled workers is increasing, and this is also an opportunity for us."

"We have a comprehensive technical skills training system. If we could just slightly handle these workers, we could make quite a considerable amount of wealth from them."

"If ten million workers need training, and each pays us a hundred bucks, that’s a billion-dollar business!"

"Even if you reduce this number to ten percent, there’s still a profit of one hundred million!"

The president of the Workers’ Union branch stationed in Nagariel has been there for two years, and what he sees is almost all wealth!

Someone once said that the ground in Nagariel is paved with gold, and all you have to do is bend over to pick it up.

But there were also those who actually went to Nagariel, and all they saw was the dirty, messy, backward Nagariel at the time, with not even a piece of wire, let alone gold.

Many are puzzled, is this the so-called "gold everywhere" in Nagariel?

Perhaps what they mean by "gold" is actually referring to the dung?

Actually, it’s not that it doesn’t exist, it’s just that these people are too low-level to see the gold, so they themselves have become part of the gold.

But the workers from the Union can see it. From the Socialist Party to the Workers’ Union, this special organization actually has a capitalist perspective.

They are very clear that what is meant by "gold" is not actual gold, but "people!"

Seeing the United Development Company crazily amassing wealth, the Workers’ Union conducting operations in Nagariel for two years were also getting restless.

They have already figured out how the United Development Company turns people into wealth, and the process is quite simple, and they want to get involved.

"We have already begun building some technical training schools locally, but haven’t started enrolling students yet, as we all know, we must first get the United Development Company’s..."

"I mean, we should figure out a way to talk to the board members of the United Development Company. We can appropriately let go of some benefits, and this should be negotiable."

"Our control power domestically is our most valuable bargaining chip..."

The branch president’s attitude is very clear and straightforward, even having a sense of "if worst comes to worst, we can go ahead first."

The chairman of the Socialist Party Committee raised his hand to interrupt his speech.

The chairman of the Socialist Party Committee has just turned sixty, and he has held this position for over a decade.

Because he has always done well, nobody below holds any dissatisfaction with him; he is very clear that the Federation is actually not controlled within the hands of the Federation Government, but those capitalists.

You can criticize the President on the media as politically incompetent, and nobody will strip you of any rights because you’ve criticized a ruling leader.

But if you attempt to touch the sensitive nerves of capitalists, they will show you the meaning of ruthless.

He took another look at the Union’s head president, a forty-something-year-old energetic "young man."

To these elder ones, anyone in their forties is still very young.

The elder rubbed his temples and took off his glasses, placing them before himself, rubbing the sockets of his eyes with the meat under his thumbs.

His daily work involves constantly reviewing various documents, signing, or sitting down with some individuals to discuss certain matters.

This has exacerbated his eye issues, with dryness being the most common problem.

After he released his hands, feeling slightly better, he re-glasses himself and looked at the two presidents sitting together.

"Did a donkey kick your brains?"

His tone didn’t carry a hint of humor, it’s as though he genuinely believed it.

"I don’t understand..."

The head president shook his head.

In many cases, the Workers’ Union and the Socialist Party are seen as one entity, because people from the Socialist Party basically come from the upper middle tiers of the Workers’ Union.

In other words, doing well or poorly in the Workers’ Union provides opportunities to enter the Socialist Party.

As a small opposition party, besides the high-level party members holding some power, others are simply "ornaments."

Furthermore, upper middle-tier members of the Workers’ Union are relatively younger, their obedience to the Socialist Party isn’t as many might imagine.

Take the current head president for example, in his forties, full of vigor, he believes the best way for the Socialist Party to carve out a niche among the two other parties is to align closer to the workers’ position.

He even discussed a very interesting matter with the higher-ups of the Socialist Party after taking office, which was to change the name of "Federal Socialist Party" to "Federal Workers’ Party" to better align with the political stance.

However, over at the Socialist Party, they didn’t agree and said, "This idea is as foolish as cheese gnawed by mice," and the chairman of the Socialist Party Committee, this elderly man, further expressed displeasure towards the current head president by stating "he’s still young."

A forty-something-year-old described as "still young" by an elder, if taken at face value, carries no problem; given he’s compared to a sixty-year-old elder, he is indeed still young.

But on its own, the phrase could impart "still behaving like the young" at forty-something, suggesting the head president’s capability issues.

The head president’s response then was, "Under my leadership our development is stable," directly confronting, demonstrating his displeasure towards the Socialist Party Committee chairman, while also sarcastically indicating his lack of boldness, stating thirteen years without any progress in the Socialist Party.

The room grew tense with a bit of gunpowder atmosphere.

The elder sighed, "Do you really think I do not see these matters?"

"No, I can see them. When Lynch was setting up home workshops, I realized this, the labor cost’s proportion within the total industrial cost is exceedingly significant, whoever solves the labor cost issue earns more money."

"Everyone knows, if in the Federation you make products which break even, moving to Nagariel guarantees profit, but we cannot do that."

"Because that’s the capitalists’ business, that’s their affair, they profit through cheap labor."

"Were we to do it, we’d essentially be snatching business from those big capitalists, do you think they’d tolerate us doing so?"

What the Socialist Party Committee chairman said was candid, he wasn’t willing to directly clash with major capitalists, additionally, this time they were facing not just any one capitalist, but the most potent forces in the Federation.

Including Lynch, a madman who ignited wars abroad in a private capacity!

Approaching them now is absolutely thinking the Federation is really fair, just as rumored, lots of idle talk, brainwashed by fables.

"We don’t intend to plunder their wealth, Chairman!" The head president looked at him, "We are merely opening training schools, reducing their training costs so they have direct access to high-level talents, they should thank us instead!"

Indeed, there’s a problem existing in Nagariel, the base-level labor force is vast, middle-level skilled workers are few, never mind high-level technicians, mostly occupied by Federations.

We train high-level skilled workers, capitalists make direct use, isn’t this great?

In the head president’s view, not only is there no risk in this matter, but they also could establish a good partnership with the United Development Company, thereby helping the Socialist Party gain more political resources.

The head president’s ultimate goal is to replace the elder and become the next Socialist Party Committee chairman, so he must bring about some changes now.

Even the Conservative Party has become more radical, there’s no reason for the Socialist Party to remain so conservative.

The chairman of the Socialist Party Committee looked around at those seated around the table, they were all high-level personnel from the Workers’ Union or the middle upper-tier members of the Socialist Party, not "minor personalities."

Shaking his head, he said, "You haven’t actually understood yet, we are merely parasites."

"Parasites on workers and capitalists. When we are yet weak, creating minimal impact to both parties, they allow our existence."

"But when our influence magnifies, even seeking independence, they will not tolerate what we do."

"On the surface, it’s merely a simple matter of training schools..."

"But have they permitted you to do this?"

"Have you considered that by doing this, you might alter some things they already possess?"

Actually, most capitalists have adopted more efficient exploitation and oppression methods; fundamental exploitation rarely appears within Consortiums.

For example, Lynch’s company has multiple promotion systems, a more ingenious exploitation method, mobilizing employees’ enthusiasm.

Lynch or management needn’t actively pressure them, they voluntarily exploit themselves for brighter future prospects!

The leap from lower workers to higher ones is essentially the process where capitalists evolve exploiting workers.

If you wish to advance, you must let me witness your superior diligence to others, thus I will present you an opportunity, allowing you to study and thus advance.

This behavior should occur internally within enterprises; these major corporations and factories delegate targeted training annually.

Sending workers to certain places for training, do you assume they are simply receiving training?

No, they are merely identifying those individuals who exploit themselves most vigorously, then turning them into role models...
