Chapter 134: Rescue Mission
While still running, Gene Benua’s head suddenly exploded.
Four tumors swelled grotesquely from his neck, and four human heads slowly crawled out.
Puff.
Puff.
Puff.
His body collapsed onto the ground, blood splattering across the white mist.
The newly formed heads of Gene Benua twisted violently, as though each one was desperately trying to understand what had happened.
Then—
His shadow squirmed.
Something bulged beneath it.
A moment later, Gene Benua’s own head suddenly popped out from his shadow.
"What?"
"What?"
"I... I’m also a monster?"
Gene Benua stared at the heads surrounding him in complete disbelief.
He now had a head full of heads.
The sight was so bizarre that even he couldn’t process it.
Not far away, Bill’s original head was being attacked by seven other heads, constantly torn apart only to regenerate again.
His body seemed trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth.
"I’ve become the host of a head feast..."
"This is too outrageous, right?"
Inside the thick fog, Menloa was the only one who hadn’t been directly targeted yet.
He stared at the bizarre scene with his mouth hanging open.
"Wow."
"So everyone is weird."
"Are we actually playing some kind of game here?"
At the same time, the barrage exploded once again.
TCH: What’s weird about this? Look, this is Lord Bill’s strength!
Strict Farmer: So what if he dies? He has infinite respawns!
Oh God, what am I seeing? That bastard actually dared to let Lord Bill step on a landmine!
Good! Good! Good! That little bastard already has a path to death!
Next! As long as Lord Bill discovers his talent, there’s still a chance to turn the situation around!
The error rate for an SS-level talent is high!
Damn it, Gene Benua actually ended up getting himself killed after all that! Useless!
Not only did he offend our beautiful Lord Bill, he even lost himself! What a waste!
The comments continued pouring across the screen.
Although the three participants had lost their memories and had no idea how to solve the supernatural situation around them, two of them had already demonstrated abilities that gave them seemingly endless opportunities to survive.
If Menloa couldn’t figure out his own talent soon...
He would probably be the next one to explode.
When three people travel together, one must be the withdrawn one.
At first, everyone had assumed the targeted Bill would be the weakest link.
Nobody expected the one who would eventually be isolated...
Would be Menloa.
Puff.
Puff.
Puff.
The head balloon swirling through the sky continued growing.
Seventeen distorted human heads were now fused together into one enormous, grotesque sphere.
Every face wore a hideous grin.
"Haha..."
"Useless."
"Useless."
"As long as the Twilight Express leaves..."
"No matter what talent you possess, it will all be in vain."
"All in vain."
"Now..."
"Only you are left."
"Hehehe..."
The enormous sphere suddenly descended.
Seventeen pairs of eyes simultaneously focused on Menloa.
Menloa’s body trembled.
Three tumors suddenly bulged from his neck.
Something was writhing beneath his skin.
Something was growing.
Something desperately wanted to break through.
"I’m going to die..."
"I’m going to die!"
"Mom..."
"Mom..."
"I’m going to die!"
"I’ll never be able to drink the wine you brewed again!"
His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
He desperately looked around.
Through the thick fog, he could vaguely see Bill and Gene Benua.
Their heads were repeatedly torn apart by the grotesque creatures.
Seven heads would bite them.
Their bodies would collapse.
Then—
They would regenerate.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Menloa’s eyes widened.
His desperate expression suddenly changed.
"No."
"No..."
"If this is truly some kind of life-or-death game..."
"Then those two must have ways to save themselves."
"I should have one too, right?"
"Otherwise..."
"Wouldn’t that make the game unfair?"
His breathing became increasingly rapid.
"What is my ability?"
"Is it resurrection?"
"Is it something else?"
His pupils suddenly contracted.
He saw something.
At the very edge of his vision, something he had unconsciously ignored from the beginning was flickering.
A tiny golden house.
Menloa stared at it.
He focused his mind.
The symbol immediately expanded.
A description appeared before his eyes.
[S-Class Talent]
[Golden Hero]
[Ability Description:]
[Select one unit and bring it into the Golden Gate.]
[Within the Golden Gate, both parties’ attributes will forcibly be adjusted to the same level.]
[According to your will, only the winner of the one-on-one battle may leave the Golden Gate.]
"Golden Hero..."
"Golden..."
"Hero..."
Menloa stared blankly at the description.
Then—
Puff!
Three human heads suddenly exploded from his neck.
His number of head balloons instantly reached twenty.
Menloa looked toward the sky.
Golden light suddenly erupted from his body.
The twenty grotesque head balloons began flickering.
Six of them were suddenly enveloped in brilliant golden light.
Then—
They vanished.
"Damn!"
"This guy..."
"Did he actually discover his talent by himself?"
The viewers were stunned.
The remaining fourteen head balloons immediately turned toward the sky.
Their grotesque faces twisted with rage.
But their attention soon shifted toward Bill and Gene Benua, who were still repeatedly dying and regenerating within the fog.
Buzz—
A strange sound echoed.
Inside the Golden Gate, Menloa suddenly appeared.
He stood on the floor of a magnificent golden palace.
He looked around.
For some inexplicable reason...
The place felt strangely familiar.
"Ha..."
He didn’t know why.
But something about this place gave him a strange sense of security.
In front of him, six human head balloons twisted violently.
They rose.
They fell.
They slammed against the golden floor.
Their eyes burned with hatred.
"You think doing this means you don’t have to die?"
"You think?"
"How long can you hold on?"
"How long?"
Puff.
A blood-red crack slowly appeared across one of the head balloons.
The seam widened.
The flesh split apart.
And finally—
A human head began slowly squeezing through the opening.
Menloa’s eyes narrowed.
It was his own face.
The head grinned at him.
"You..."
"Are..."
"Dead."
But before the head could fully emerge—
Thud!
A figure flashed forward.
Menloa leaped onto the head balloon.
His hands grabbed the edges of the opening.
Then, with all his strength, he forcibly pushed the emerging head back inside.
"You’re sorry."
Menloa gritted his teeth.
"Now..."
"We have the same physical quality."
"Let’s see who dies first!"
Boom!
Menloa wrapped both arms around the six balloons.
His muscles bulged.
He dragged the entire mass downward and slammed it against the ground.
Then he pressed his entire body on top of them.
The six grotesque balloons struggled violently beneath him.
Menloa’s entire body trembled.
Cold sweat covered his forehead.
He gasped desperately for air.
He had no idea how long he could continue fighting.
He only knew one thing.
As long as the attributes were equal...
He finally had a chance.
And for the first time since entering this nightmare—
Menloa was no longer running.
He was fighting back.
