Standing at the edge of the hole with Aster, the tips of their robes faintly flapping in the air as their faces were covered by them, Cillian looked down and readied himself for the incoming fall they were about to make.

His heart pounded with excitement, yet Cillian knew he had to be crazy for thinking that this was another fun experience when he was about to enter another grueling fight, this time throwing him and Aster into the middle of the fray.

’A plan my ass, a fucking smart person my ass...’

Cillian started blaming himself for not thinking of a better plan that could fit this situation. However, he had no cards left, especially since his opponents had just reached another level of threat that included a ’God’ inside Arthur, a few White Shepherds, and a bunch of Black Shepherds in the mix.

If Cillian indeed had any cards left to play, he had already used them in their rightful places earlier, or he simply couldn’t use them while he was right in the middle of this place.

’Ah fuck, ah fuck.’

Cillian couldn’t help but tense up while looking down below. If he jumped right now, then either they would succeed or they wouldn’t.

But it seemed that the person beside him wasn’t even hesitating a bit, even though the plan was full of inconsistencies.

"I’m going in."

Aster spoke solemnly before jumping toward the edge of the hole, manifesting one of the Five Swords of Chaos from his fists. A dark red aura surrounded his entire being.

"Hah...!"

[Mimicry Failed]

[Mimicry Activated]

[Mimicry Failed...]

Letting out a smirk, Cillian finally let himself fall from the edge of the hole as he watched Aster move into a slashing motion, raising his dark red serrated great sword upward midair.

"Sword of Wrath!"

Then, he brought his sword down, targeting the nearby Shepherds who met his strike head-on.

Baaaaaam—!

It was now time for Cillian to do his role. With a light cough, he shouted toward the Hidden One as he fell down.

He talked to it as if they were friends, but their statuses were different. It was as if Cillian was lowering himself to this ’God’.

"Hidden One of the Higher Plane! We’ve come to help you!"

Aster couldn’t help but glance in his direction, giving him a weird look before giving him a light push so that Cillian could land exactly where the Hidden One was currently floating.

"Kuak—"

The light push didn’t appear to be light at all, as Cillian somehow lost his balance for a second, but it was enough for him to eventually land and hug the Hidden One who was possessing Arthur from behind.

"Help... me?"

The Hidden One couldn’t help but ask, his hollow eyes glancing at Cillian hugging his back. He was on the verge of completely taking over Arthur, and a little bit of help could be beneficial to him, as Cillian seemed to be someone from the Shepherds, judging by his robe alone.

The Hidden One thought that Cillian was just someone on the opposite side of the Shepherds who didn’t know exactly who he was and was blinded by the fact that he was indeed a ’God’ of a higher caliber.

The Hidden One was trying to take advantage of it before looking forward and watching another Black Shepherd in disguise, who was Aster, fighting the rest of his enemies for a few seconds. This made him more convinced about his situation.

"I see. Then, try to divert their attention. All I need is a little more time, and then I’ll suck the souls of those people dry and reward you—"

Shak—!

Just as he was about to finish talking, the Hidden One found his head pierced by a sword blade from behind.

’Taking the sword out while mid-air is fucking nuts!’

Cillian, who had to watch and listen to the Hidden One pause and talk for a few seconds, had managed to hit the ’God’ in the head. He had taken too long to pull it out from his Inventory because the Hidden One was floating and slightly moving through the air.

Still, he managed to hurt him, and it showed some results.

’Aster! Can you hear me?! Some bodies are falling!’

Cillian glanced below and saw that Aster had immediately stopped attacking the Shepherds he had been fighting. He saw how exhausted Aster had become after just a few seconds, even though he was using the Sword of Wrath and pushing it to its limit.

Even so, Aster didn’t complain. He immediately turned around, looked up toward the falling bodies, and started dashing toward them to rescue them while trying to defend himself against the Shepherds chasing after him.

Cillian then shifted his attention toward the Hidden One again. This time, he shivered as the ’God’ glanced behind him with a sword pierced through his head and an enraged expression on his face.

It wasn’t dead yet!

’Fucking scary!’

Cillian immediately tried to move and grab the sword that was stuck in the Hidden One’s head, only to feel a blade being plunged into his side.

It was the blade Arthur was holding earlier.

Shak—!

"You fucking bastard!"

Gritting through the intense pain he was feeling while ignoring the shout of the ’God’, Cillian finally managed to pull the sword out from the Hidden One’s head with the intent of stabbing the bastard either in the chest where Arthur’s heart was located or in the throat.

Anything that Cillian can manage to pull right now!

But the same blade stabbed him once again.

"Bleurgh!"

"Stop... sticking onto me! You bastard!"

Cillian spewed out a mouthful of blood onto the Hidden One’s face before a slight smirk appeared on his lips.

He didn’t mock him or try to ragebait the shit out of the Hidden One by talking. It was too painful to even speak at this point, and he thought that his expression was enough for the ’God’ to realize that he was trying to mock him.

Cillian merely plunged his sword deep into the Hidden One’s chest.

This time, the ’God’ screamed.

"Urgh!"

Soon, the bodies that were levitating in the air started falling down. Some were lucky enough to only break a few bones, while others died instantly after hitting their heads.

At the same time, Cillian found himself falling down with the Hidden One, who could no longer control whatever power it had been using to keep itself afloat.

’It fucking hurts...’

For some reason, this fall reminded Cillian of the time he was falling from the school window with the author, The Fool.

He was still stabbed while he was with someone, just like before.

However, the situation was different this time.

[A scent of Death within you wishes to make a bet with you.]

’No...’

Cillian didn’t let the scent of Death, which wanted his death more than ever, make its wish come true.

No matter how much he struggles, Cillian will never follow this scent’s wishes.

Unless... unless there was really no other way.

This time, there’s still a way.

"You’re going to fall first!"

Cillian immediately hugged the Hidden One tightly and braced himself for impact, using his enemy’s body to absorb most of the force from the fall.

Cillian’s life never flashed before his eyes, nor did he find that this situation would immediately result in his death.

Cillian learned his lesson if he encountered this situation again.

Even if he broke a few bones, Cillian would use the body of his opponent and try to withstand the fall somehow.

Somehow.

And, he indeed had fallen.
