Chapter 1 — | My Reincarnation from a Loser to a Super Mage
I’m Kai, my mom is tired of me and everyone around me called me a loser.
The only place I find peace is in my virtual game, a world that never judges me, where the weight on my shoulders fades with every step I take. A place I can finally be myself although I focus more on my virtual game than my classes.
Inside my room, my computer screen illuminated over my face with my headphones over my ears. I wasn’t attending classes regularly anymore because I wanted to strengthen my skills more and this game was the only thing that didn’t judge me, so I gave it my all.
With precise ease I logged in my virtual game and a new group of people just then a transparent blue panel materialized before my eyes.
[Quest: Kill the Legendary 1000 years old Tiamat Dragon
Objective:
• Investigate the abandoned cabin.
• Defeat Tiamat
• Retrieve the Moon Crystal.

My gaze dropped towards my power rank.
"Arggh, just got 50 XP" I wailed dramatically, "I am not strong enough to complete this quest on my own."
"Hi."
My gaze drifted towards the popped message across my screen.
"Who’s this?" I muttered.
My fingers danced across the keyboard.
[Hi, who are you?]
My screen indicates typing.
[Hi, I’m Gaya. We’re up to battle Tiamat, the ice dragon. I think if you team up with my group we would have a better chance]
I slid into his account and my eyes widened.
"Whoa, he’s at 300XP and a level 12 mage!"
I’m only a level 3 mage and the highest level was 15.
My fingers moved again across the keyboard with a wide grin on my lips.
[Yes sure]
"Nice to make new friends."
A knock slice through the door, my head snapped towards it.
"Kai."
My mother’s voice echoed softly behind the door, the doorknob twisted as if to open.
"You still locked the door again?" she said softly, "I know you are hurting but locking yourself inside isn’t the best solution. Your principal called again today, make sure you don’t skip classes tomorrow and I’m leaving your breakfast right here."
I didn’t reply for a second longer, rising on my feet. I crossed the room, my fingers curling around the key as I unlocked the door. I pushed the door open, crossing the threshold before my gaze darted through the hallway.
I picked the tray and back inside, shutting the door behind. I placed the tray on my table before I returned to my game chair.
I clicked on the console, and we finally arrived at the dungeon. Suddenly my screen dimmed, the dungeon was dark, just a stray fracture of crystal light flashes across the dungeon.
"Everyone," Gaya said, "switch on your torch light."
The dungeon instantly illuminates with light. I also switched on mine, we all moved through the dungeon until we saw a faint silver-light.
The more we got closer the brighter it became, instinctively we all switched to our protective goggles.
Reaching the light we stopped.
"We have to be careful," Gaya muttered, "let’s see if this light is harmless."
Gaya extended a Luminosity Analyzer
"It’s safe we can go in."
We walked through the blinding light and stumbled upon an underground city. The vegetation was remarkable with houses made of wood.
One of the team members cheered.
"Looks like we hit the jackpot. Hi everyone I’m Sha."
A female voice chimed in softly.
"I’m Rangene."
"I’m Kai." I said quietly.
"Seriously!" Gaya yelled instantly, "but it’s weird, everything was deserted. It looked like something scared the inhabitants away from here."
With all their words no one came to my ears as their sounds faded into background noise. My gaze locked on the wonderful underground world.
"Hey, I’m Rangene." She tapped lightly on my shoulder, "I’ve been watching you ever since we met. You’re a low-level mage, so why do you want to venture here?"
My heart caught, my fingers immediately froze on the controller.
"W-What do I say to her," I stuttered, "what if mess things up."
Back inside the game.
"I could be stronger if I participated in these kinds of investigations to improve myself more, gain power, and lastly I want to free Princess Rina."
"The princess?" Rangene repeated abruptly. "You mean the daughter of the king of the Scarlet Kingdom?"
"Yes, I will do everything I can."
"Good luck to you. As for me, I’m here to gain power, I’m a swordsman, let’s make sure we compare the quest!"
"Friends, we don’t have all night," Gaya interrupted smoothly, "we must keep moving forward before Tiamat will be out of our reach."
"Yes boss, understood." Shai replied.
"Why is he calling you boss?"
The words slept out of my mouth before I could hold myself.
"Because I’m his lackey." Sha Beamed.
We kept pushing deeper into the forest. Suddenly, we arrived at a certain point and over the hill, there was a castle.
"I think," I muttered, "there’s some treasure over there."
"How do you know it’s over there?" Gaya asked.
"I have a magic strong mana that detects treasures." I replied.
"Well then," Gaya said, "let’s go take a look."
We headed towards the castle, entering inside there were no guards. The place looked abandoned, so we headed further away.
My heart thudded as my thoughts spiraled restlessly.
’This wasn’t normal, I can feel a strange aura. Something I can’t name.’
"This place,"Renegade whispered, "looks eerie."
"Forget it," Shai interjected, "I’m sure there are treasures here."
He moved forward, stepping on a brick.
THRROOOOMMM!
An ominous sound echoed violently.
We all froze.
Uther turned towards the gate but the gate slammed shut quickly of light.
"You shouldn’t have come here!"
A guttural thundered through the surrounding.
I was trembling behind my headset, the voice as the voice echoed deep inside my eardrum. My hands trembled and breath came in short gasps.
"Let’s move forward," Gaya said, reassuring, "don’t be afraid."
We advanced, reaching a large door. We stopped before the door opened on its own and then we stepped inside.
Fwoosh ! Fwoosh!
The ancient runes flared with crimson light, there were thrones, three seats accompanied by God-like statues.
The door closed behind us.
"We’re doomed." Oaz muttered.
A dragon burst into the throne room.
Instinctively we draw out our weapons.
The white dragon was covered in scales of ice.
"I think it’s the Tiamat." Gaya yelled, " everyone split into formation!"
We all stood in formation, Gaya lunged many fire arrows directly at the Tiamat.
Rangene circle around the Tiamat with her magical strings
I looked at my mage level 50XP, too low. I lowered my gaze and instantly determination crossed my mind.
I clicked on my dashboard, casting an elemental spell.
It came in the form of a gold net flying over the Tiamat but couldn’t capture it fully.
Suddenly, Rangene’s string shattered, and she collapsed backwards.
Tiamat whipped his massive tail into Uther, hurling him across the room.
Shai drew his sword, he chanted a formula:
"Armor Protection. Gling System. Sword Reinforcement. Gling System. Endurance System. Gling."
He cast all his protection spells in a fraction of a second.
The Tiamat movement slowed a bit.
Rangene sprung up and sprinted faster towards the Tiamat.
The Tiamat unleashed a torment of crimson dragon’s icy at Rangene at the same time Gaga conjured a protective barrier around them all.
But Uther was struck in the leg by its icy blast and succumbed to his wounds on the spot.
"Uther!" Gaya shouted.
Rangene hurried towards Uther and pulled him inside the protective barrier.
Gaya averted his gaze back to Tiamat, his eyes darkened
"You defeated us, let us leave."
"No!"
The guttural voice of the dragon thundered through the room.
"I will not let you leave. You are all going to die!"
I clenched my fist tightly, glaring at the Tiamat without hesitation. I lunged my last bit of mana towards the Tiamat.
The Tiamat movement swift dodge my attack.
I advanced creating a hexagon brimstone and shooting the Tiamat unstopped.
Tiamat instantly exhaled an inferno of scarlet flames at me. I noticed the protective barrier had weakened and turned to Gaya.
Gaya and the others were already at the exit.
"Gaya!"
I turned, running towards the door.
"Don’t leave me! Please, let me out!"
His lips curled into a dangerous dark smile, slowly he shut the door on me.
I froze.
My pupils contracted, and I slowly turned towards the dragon.
"Fuck me." I muttered under my breath.
Instantly the dragon disappeared, my eyes widened, and my breath grew heavier.
Suddenly, the statues began to rise one by one. Before I could comprehend the whole situation.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Swords slice through the air directed towards me, I tried to dodge, but I wasn’t good at close-quarters combat.
One of the statues impaled me with a spear.
SLICKK!
The force launched me onto the altar as the altar shook beneath my body.
SPLT!
"Ahh!"
I screamed as the blade dove deep into my stomach, the pain felt surreal. I could barely lift my hand to cast another spell.
Immediately the quest mission displayed in air, seeing my XP vanished.
Instantly, the countdown began.
"The game has ended."
The beep sounds echoed faintly in my ears.
9, 8, 7, 6...
SPLT!
"Ngh..."
The spear into my lower abdomen.
...5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
The moment, it stopped dead.
SPLT!
The spear sank deeply into my chest.
"Ghk!"
My vision blurred, slowly my eyes closed and everything went black.
Instantly, the computer shuts down.
The beat of silence passed.
PING!
The light engulfed the darkness, swallowing it whole as a message appearing on my computer screen:
[System: Are you ready for this adventure that awaits you?]
"What?"
I stood up from the floor, my gaze shifted to all my stab wounds.
"No wounds, but why can I feel every muscle in my body?"
My gaze swept across the vase bright space.
"No one is here, just me. Maybe if I close my eyes and open it, I will be in my room."
I shut my eyes and with a sudden opening, I still found myself here.
"No, no," I shook my head, "what’s happening here, anyone here?!"
My voice echoed back. I jolted, looking at my side before my hands flew to my head.
"No headset."
My eyes widened in shock.
"Did I just transmigrate into my virtual game?"
A beat pass.
"AHHHHHH!"
I turned, pacing from one point to another as if to shake this dreadful reality off.
[System: Are you ready for this adventure that awaits you?]
The message beeped again. My fingers slid into my mouth as my free trembled finger, I pressed the ’Enter key.’
[System: Thank you for your prompt response, please wait a moment. Said the system.]
Instantly the air in my lungs tightened, her hands instinctively flew to my chest. And in that heated moment my soul sucked into a vortex inside the game.
My physical body slumped back into the chair.
[System: Welcome to the Scarlet Player world, you are among the best. You are a reincarnated player of the game. So, to rejoin the real world, you must participate in quests and defeat the boss And when you have found the Holy Grail, a wish will be granted to you: either you return home or you reign here as the absolute ruler of God. And for your information, you are not dead, you are in a coma in real life.]
Suddenly, a screen displayed.
[XP 1,000,000. Level Mage on the 40,000 Combat Combo 75%, Unlimited Life, Power Capacity 100%.]
GLING!
[System: Let the adventure begin.]
"But the highest level in the virtual game was, level Mage100 and XP was 2500."
I scoffed.
"What the hell have I gotten myself into?"
