Chapter 11: The Pierrot Class Incredible Luck

After seeing the double SS Grade dropped items, Daniela almost passed out on the spot. That result was not her doing alone. It came from the power Riven had created in combination with hers. It was an incredible ability that he had to keep completely secret.
"It seems that way. Our Authorities created a synergy effect," he explained. "You increase the Drop Rate and can even double it, while I can boost the quality."
"A-Amazing...!" she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"It’s our secret, okay? Don’t ever tell anybody about this, or you’ll end up meeting people similar to the assholes who abused you today," he warned her firmly.
"I will!" Daniela nodded, looking at him with open admiration. "Riven, thank you for being so nice to me...! Um, but what are we doing with these?"
"They don’t count as heavy weapons, so I cannot wear them efficiently," he thought. "Still, I’ll wear one and you can wear the other, so you have better attack power."
Daniela nodded and took the Shadow Wolf’s Cursed Claws. The weapon allowed her to temporarily meld into the shadows for a second or two and also to inflict random curses. Those curses could range from completely useless to extremely powerful, all depending on Luck.
It was the perfect weapon for her at the moment.
Once the corpses were safely stored, the two continued their raid deeper into the Gate. Before long they finally arrived at the open underground spring that Daniela had mentioned earlier.
"This is the place...!" she said with excitement. "Should I use Clowny Charm?"
"Wait," he told her.
"Hm?"
"Let me do something first." Riven walked closer to the edge of the spring and then sat down.
Daniela watched him in growing confusion as he took out the corpse of the Dark Crawler—that disgusting-looking giant blind bat—and began taking large bites out of the monstrosity.
"GEH?!"
She almost puked from pure disgust.
Riven was eating it as if it were a delicious snack, a five-star delicacy. He bit into the old wrinkled skin, the head, the skull, everything without hesitation.
As he continued, his aura shifted and turned black and red, almost as if the energy itself had become a set of jaws that joined him in devouring the entire disgusting creature raw.
She sat down hard on her own backside in disbelief while she watched him finish the entire thing in one sitting.
He even ate the core, crunching and biting on it with clear enjoyment before swallowing every last bit and licking his lips afterward.
Then—
FLUOSH!
His aura surged outward. His Class leveled up and his stats increased noticeably.
"W-Woah...! You grew stronger by eating that...?!" she asked in shock. "I see, so that’s what Predator does?"
"Hm," Riven nodded while looking at the notifications.
[Dark Crawler fully consumed.]

Riven felt stronger and faster. His mind raced with more thoughts than before. He also began to realize that without the multiplier authority the stat gains would have been far smaller. Was Predator really that good with such little base gains? Or did the amount increase based on Class Level? It almost felt as if the Authorities were all part of one singular power rather than simply stacking by chance.
"Abyssal Fist..."
Riven watched deep darkness gather around his fists. He felt his movements grow faster and perhaps more unpredictable. Mana seemed to gather in his fists, ready for an explosive impact.
This new skill combined with Frost Emperor’s Touch could create an incredible synergy.
"Now, should I eat the other one?"
He shrugged and tried to eat the second Dark Crawler.

It was like an incentive to hunt new monsters and continue growing instead of staying holed up in the same Gate forever, which had been part of Riven’s original plan.
"Fine. Doesn’t matter. I still have this."
He quickly took out the corpse of one of the Blind Cave Werewolves and began eating it as well.
Daniela gasped as she silently watched him consume everything—up to the bones and even the core.
It was a sight to behold! Did he somehow possess a bottomless stomach?

Riven felt incredibly strong. His stats skyrocketed once more and his aura surged outward. His bones strengthened, his muscles bulged slightly, and his senses expanded. He could now clearly hear Daniela’s heartbeat and her quiet breathing.
His new Talent seemed to work amazingly well with his Authority of Gluttony. What’s more, right now he had gained 50% of the werewolf’s stats, making him feel noticeably stronger. Even if the effect lasted only one hour, it would still be very useful.
He also noticed that the absorbed stats were higher than before. The werewolves had been roughly twice as strong as the Dark Crawlers, but even so the gains felt a little ridiculous.
Then he realized the truth: the bonuses increased based on the Level of his Class.
The higher the Class Level, the more stats he gained, just like how a person received greater rewards when leveling up at higher levels.
"Sorry. I was hungry," he said while standing up. "As you can see, that’s how I grow."
Riven checked his status.

"It’s all good," he thought.
"I can tell..." Daniela sighed, responding to his earlier words. "Um, so what now?"
"Let’s call all the monsters," Riven said. He looked excited, his eyes gleaming a faint red. "Use your Skill again. I’ll protect you."
"Okay!"
Daniela activated Clowny Charm once more. Within moments dozens of monsters came running from every cavern path, roaring and hissing loudly.
Dark Crawlers and Blind Cave Werewolves appeared again, but this time a couple of new monsters also showed up—creatures that his Authority of Gluttony would not reject.
"Let’s begin."
As the battle raged on, a few silhouettes watched everything from a distance. They spoke quietly among themselves while looking shocked by the intensity of the fight.
"So that’s the Claymore guy?"
"I investigated his name and found almost nothing..."
"He must be really new, a child of a rich family, coming here alone..."
"Sure, he’s strong for his rank, but he shouldn’t have done something so stupid."
"You think they’ll pay us well for him?"
"We can always scare them first and send a finger, right~?"
"I’ll get a part of the money, right?! I told you about him!"
"Sure, but keep playing the security guard role for now. I think I have a plan."
