Chapter 38: Just this once.

" What?" Osborne was taken aback." When?! Where?! Why’d she go?!"

" Shortly after your imprisonment, I had her leave."

" Why?" Osborne asked with a frown, calming down a bit. He was glad it meant nothing had happened to her, but he still wanted to know.

" I was worried the 3rd young miss and 4th young miss would end up targeting her out of their hatred towards you."

" So I had her return to the Bismarck barrony."

" I apologise if I’ve caused you any distress, but I only did so with you in mind." She said, bowing her head apologetically.

" Did you make sure to tell her not to inform my parents of what happened here." He asked.

" Yes." She nodded.

Osborne turned silent for a moment, before clicking his tongue in displeasure and walking away.

Guinevere did the right thing in the end, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t upset about how she turned on him back in the hall.

But now, he felt that they were even since she did save Anny’s life.

********

Later that evening.

Osborne stopped In front of Roseline’s bedroom or should he say their chambers.

His expression was dark, it was obvious he didn’t like this current situation in the least, but remembering what she said earlier that day, he gritted his teeth before knocking on the door.

" Who is it?"

" It’s me..." Osborne let out a breath then said.

" Come in." Her voice carried over.

Osborne pushed open the doors before walking in, closing the doors behind him.

"...."

The moment he turned around. He saw a sight that took him completely off guard, the scene of Roseline in her night gown, which did little to cover her splendid legs.

" You know you didn’t have to knock, this is now your room as much as it is mine." Roseline said, sitting by the edge of the bed with one leg over the other, the gentle moonlight causing her soft skin to glisten.

" You said you’d help me gain full control over this..." Osborne simply summoned the dagger in front of him. His gaze back to it’s normal detached look.

Roseline didn’t seem to mind, she patted the space on the bed next to her.

" Come sit."

"..." Osborne frowned, turning silent.

" Do you want my help or not." Roseline’s tone changed into an impatient one.

"Tsk." He begrudgingly walked on over before sitting opposite her.

" Now take off your clothes." Her next words has him giving her a vigilant gaze.

" I don’t know what foolish thoughts you have going on up there, but if you need my help, you’ll need to take them off."

" Why exactly do I need to take off my clothes before you’ll help me." This time, Osborne didn’t immediately comply.

Roseline let out a frustrated sigh before flicking her wrist.

The next moment, a crimson glow covered her entire arm. " Because of this."

’ So that’s what aura looks like.’ Osborne was taken aback from seeing it for the first time.

" In order to bond with your weapon, you first need to awaken your aura."

" I thought awakening ones aura was up to chance."

" True, but there is a method , although it’s quite risky." Roseline said. " By channeling my own aura into your body, I can stimulate it and have you awaken yours."

’ That’s possible?’ Osborne’s eyes widened for a split second.

" But again, they’re are downsides, such as your body not being suited for it to begin with, and the possibility of your internal organs getting obliterated in the process, so, that brings me to ask."

" Are you sure you want to go ahead with this process."

" You could simply train until you awaken it eventually, but that would take lots of time."

" Well, in the end, it’s up to you–"

" I want you to help me." Osborne said.

" That was faster than I expected? Aren’t you worried you could die during the process." She said calmly. " Your life would practically be in hands."

" You make it sound as if it wasn’t already." Osborne said with a dead pan expression.

The edge of Roseline’s lips couldn’t help curling up subtly.

" Take of your top and sit with your back towards me." She said.

Osborne did as she asked, choosing to sit cross-legged since it was more natural to him.

Roseline sat behind him, before placing both her palms of his back. Her aura gradually flowing through her palms and into his body.

"Mgghnn~" Osborne couldn’t help but let out a groan the moment her aura flowed into him.

" Stay calm, don’t react." Roseline said. " Let it flow through you, resisting will only do you more harm than good."

He quietly let out a breath to calm himself. He closed his eyes to concentrate, feeling the strange new power flowing through his entire body.

It felt odd, as if someone was touching him from all over his body, making him feel completely bare and vulnerable at the same time.

At first her aura seemed rough, but the more it poured into him, the smoother it went.

[A/N: don’t get any dirty ideas...]

Nevertheless, he didn’t let these thoughts disturb his concentration.

" Good." She said. " Just like that." Roseline said.

Osborne felt her aura continue to spread through his whole body, until it gradually began to gather at one point. His heart.

" Both aura and Mana are generated from one’s heart, in order for your aura to awaken, I’ll have to stimulate your heart."

" It’s not exactly a nice experience which is why I advise you to remain calm no matter what you feel. Moreover, you can’t fall unconscious. If you do, I can’t guarantee what will happen."

" Just do it!" Osborne said, gritting his teeth.

BA-DUMP~!

"..!!!" Osborne felt his body spasm the next moment, as if someone has just struck his chest with a sledge hammer.

His eyes widened in pain but he quickly bit down on his lower lip, drawing blood.

" It didn’t work." Roseline said, sounding a bit disappointed.

" Well then try again!" Osborne refused to accept such.

BA-DUMP~!

On the second attempt, all his arteries and veins bulged to the point that they looked like they were about to burst, Osborne coughed up a mouthful of blood, his vision swimming.
