Chapter 1825 - Revenge

Blood spurted out like a powerful jet and stained half of Wen Qiong's body crimson. Liu Wuxie did nothing to stop it. He simply let the blood pour.

"Liu Wuxie, you demon! You'll die a miserable death," Wen Qiong grimaced in agony, wishing death would take him on the spot. His injuries were too severe, and even dying had become a luxury beyond his reach.

Liu Wuxie raised the Bloodthirst Blade toward the sky again and severed Wen Qiong's left arm this time. The blood still flowed, though not as violently as before.

"My patience has limits. If you don't want me to search your soul, then obediently tell me the Wen Clan's next plan," Liu Wuxie said. During the interrogation, his soul energy had recovered slightly.

He had to know whether the Wen Clan had prepared anything else besides attacking the Peace and Stability Merchant Association, such as another assassination attempt against him. He needed every detail. Only then could he prepare.

"There's no one else from the Wen Clan in Moon Reverence City!" Wen Qiong said. His dao heart had completely collapsed, and tears mixed with blood until his vision blurred.

"What about your next plan?" Liu Wuxie asked. Ghost Pupil had already enveloped half of Moon Reverence City, and he could not see any Wen Clan members nearby.

"There is no other plan," Wen Qiong replied with a bitter smile. They had planned to control Chen Ping, force Liu Wuxie to appear, and then kill them. They had never prepared a follow-up.

After all, everyone had anticipated Liu Wuxie to die the moment he returned to Moon Reverence City. Who could have expected this outcome?

Liu Wuxie nodded. That matched his own guess. The Wen Clan had believed that controlling Chen Ping would make him hesitate.

Wen Qiong's consciousness slowly blurred. Perhaps because of the excessive blood loss, he was about to fall unconscious.

At that moment, Liu Wuxie's divine sense forced its way into Wen Qiong and began searching his soul. To ensure success, Liu Wuxie had severed both of Wen Qiong's arms and pushed him into a half-conscious state.

Wen Qiong's body had been badly injured, but his soul sea remained intact. If Liu Wuxie had tried to search his soul without severing his arms first, it would have been almost impossible.

Pain twisted Wen Qiong's face, but it was already too late for him to struggle. He could only watch as Liu Wuxie plundered his soul.

After extracting all his memories, Liu Wuxie briefly sorted through them before withdrawing from Wen Qiong's soul. Wen Qiong lay limp on the ground after having his soul plundered and his life extinguished.

Not long after Wen Qiong died, sonic booms split the air. Liu Wuxie instantly entered a combat stance, thinking more reinforcements from the Wen Clan had arrived.

"It's Uncle Wu and the others!" Ye Linghan sighed. The experts from the City Lord Mansion had finally arrived.

Their leader was a seventh-level Origin Immortal, Uncle Wu, the man Ye Linghan had mentioned before. As they landed, they scanned the area and looked visibly shocked.

The other Origin Immortals fared no better. Every one of them could tell a battle had taken place here moments ago.

"Young Lady, are you hurt?" Uncle Wu said, rushing to check on Ye Linghan.

"Uncle Wu, I'm fine," Ye Linghan replied, revealing a rare, obedient side. Uncle Wu had watched her grow up and was the person closest to her besides her father.

"Young Lady, what happened earlier? Where are the Wen Clan's experts?" Several Origin Immortals rushed out to investigate, but they could not find any trace of the Wen Clan anywhere.

Ye Linghan did not know how to explain and could only answer with a helpless smile.

Before sending the reinforcements, the City Lord Mansion had investigated and learned that the Wen Clan had dispatched twenty-three experts to Moon Reverence City. Ye Guhai had sent the reinforcements without the slightest delay to counter them.

"Elder Wu, look here!" A cry rang out from the crowd.

Wen Qiong's entire body was covered in blood, and his arms had been severed. Everyone had overlooked him at first, until one guest elder finally noticed him upon closer inspection.

Everyone hurried over. Elder Wu cleaned Wen Qiong's face with a Cleansing Talisman, revealing his true appearance.

"It's Wen Qiong!" Elder Wu and the others drew in sharp breaths. They naturally knew Wen Qiong, who held a high status in the Wen Clan. None of them had expected him to die here, much less with both arms severed. They could not imagine who possessed such ability.

The other elders turned toward Ye Linghan, unable to suppress their curiosity, and asked, "Young Lady, what exactly happened here? Who killed Wen Qiong?"

As for Liu Wuxie, it was not that everyone ignored him; they simply could not imagine that he was responsible for the deaths of the Wen Clan’s experts.

Although Ye Linghan had killed them all, it remained uncertain whether she could have wiped out the Wen Clan’s experts without the talisman Liu Wuxie had prepared.

Ye Linghan did not hide anything and recounted everything that had just happened.

All the elders gasped and turned to Liu Wuxie in disbelief. Even Elder Wu looked at him with fear in his eyes.

All of them were present when Liu Wuxie had treated the City Lord's poison. Later, when they heard he had become Ye Linghan's assistant mentor, they had merely assumed he had benefited from her status.

Now, looking at it again, they realized how badly they had misjudged him. Liu Wuxie was far more terrifying than they had imagined.

"A talisman and a devastating sword. He caused all of that?" Elder Wu asked, so excited he could barely speak. Any one of those things, if revealed, could shake the world.

"Uncles, I hope you can keep today's events secret," Ye Linghan said. She knew Liu Wuxie wanted to keep a low profile and did not want too many people to know about him.

The elders nodded and smiled reassuringly at her. “We understand. We understand.”

Anyone could tell the young lady shared an extraordinary relationship with Liu Wuxie. If they could draw Liu Wuxie into the City Lord Mansion's faction, the City Lord Mansion's overall strength would surge.

Of course, that was only what they believed. Liu Wuxie had no intention of staying in Fourfold City for long. He had just released the will belonging to an Immortal Emperor, and he knew his enemies had likely sensed it. That meant it would not take them long to find this place.

Liu Wuxie planned to leave after destroying the Wen Clan. He still had some time because the celestial realm was far too vast, and finding this place would not be easy. Searching for one person in the celestial realm was no different from finding a needle in a haystack.

"Wuxie, what do we do next?" Ye Linghan asked, turning toward Liu Wuxie. She had long since treated him as her pillar.

"Revenge," Liu Wuxie said, murderous intent flashing through his eyes.

If he didn't annihilate the Wen Clan, it would only be a matter of time before they returned and destroyed the Peace and Stability Merchant Association.

Seeing the dense murderous intent in Liu Wuxie's eyes, Elder Wu and the others exchanged glances. They had never seen such a terrifying gaze before.

"What do you need us to do?" Ye Linghan asked, speaking on behalf of the City Lord Mansion. As long as Liu Wuxie gave the word, the City Lord Mansion would support him without hesitation.

"Nothing for now," Liu Wuxie replied. He did not want to trouble the City Lord Mansion too much, mainly because he did not want to owe them a favor. He would handle the revenge himself.

The Wen Clan was not a major clan. To him, they were merely ants with slightly thicker legs. If he could reach the Origin Immortal Realm, he could flatten them outright.

For now, he could only rely on schemes, slowly tormenting the Wen Clan and forcing them to live each day in fear.

Hearing that Liu Wuxie did not need the City Lord Mansion's help, Ye Linghan could not hide her disappointment. How could she fail to see that Liu Wuxie simply did not want to trouble them?

Over the next two days, he gathered everyone from the Peace and Stability Merchant Association to rebuild their home. His main task was setting up a spiritual array. He laid down a powerful spiritual array to ensure that even if the Wen Clan sent experts again, they would not be able to do anything to the merchant association.

By the time the spiritual array was completed three days later, Chen Ping had fully recovered from his injuries and smoothly reached the first-level Origin Immortal Realm. This calamity had made him more mature.

"Brother, what do you plan to do next? I'll support you completely," Chen Ping said, sitting across from Liu Wuxie.

As for Ye Linghan and the reinforcements from the City Lord Mansion, they stayed at an inn in Moon Reverence City.

When news of the slaughter returned to the Wen Clan, Wen Changxing flew into a rage that shook the entire Wen Clan.

"I'm planning to head to Fourfold City and destroy the Wen Clan," Liu Wuxie said, revealing his plan.

"Brother, I'm not trying to discourage you, but the two of us alone can't destroy the Wen Clan. That would be no different from striking a stone with an egg," Chen Ping said, voicing his concern.

"I know what you're worried about. Don't worry. I won't place myself in danger," Liu Wuxie reassured. Liu Wuxie was equally worried about Chen Ping's safety. After all, charging straight into the Wen Clan would only end in mutual destruction.

Chen Ping voiced his concern only because he understood Liu Wuxie's personality. Once his brother made up his mind, no one could change his decision.

Chen Ping couldn't accompany Liu Wuxie. He had to stay behind in the Peace and Stability Merchant Association. The merchant association had just risen from the ashes, and if he left now, it would fall into chaos.

"Brother, I promise you that I'll stay in Moon Reverence City. But you have to promise me one thing too. Come back alive and whole," Chen Ping said, rising to his feet and pulling Liu Wuxie into a tight hug. He had already lost his brother once, and he did not want to lose him again.

"You have my word," Liu Wuxie said. He let go of Chen Ping and turned to leave the merchant association.

Without Chen Ping, Liu Wuxie would have been hacked to death by the local thugs in Moon Reverence City when he was ten. He would never forget that debt, not even across two lifetimes.

The scar on Chen Ping's face had also been left from that time.

When Liu Wuxie walked out of the Peace and Stability Merchant Association, Ye Linghan and the reinforcements from the City Lord Mansion were already waiting for him. Two elders remained behind to watch over the merchant association for the time being, an arrangement Ye Linghan had made.

Liu Wuxie boarded an aerial immortal beast. The group returned to the City Lord Mansion before nightfall. Under Ye Linghan's repeated insistence, Liu Wuxie had no choice but to stay at the City Lord Mansion.

After all, staying outside was far too dangerous with the Wen Clan's scouts around the city. If they learned Liu Wuxie was alone, they would certainly send assassins to take his life.

Over the past few days, what had happened in Moon Reverence City had gradually spread, and Ye Guhai had personally come to welcome them.

Ye Linghan threw herself into Ye Guhai's arms the moment she saw him.

"Father!"

"You silly girl. Do you know how dangerous it was this time?" Ye Guhai asked, caressing Ye Linghan's head with affection.

"Aren't I fine now?" Ye Linghan asked, sticking out her tongue playfully.

Elder Wu and the others stepped forward to pay their respects. "Greetings, City Lord Ye."

Even Liu Wuxie walked out from the crowd and cupped his fists.

"Come in quickly! I've already prepared a banquet!" Ye Guhai said, glancing at Liu Wuxie. He showed none of the airs of an elder and treated him with great courtesy.
