Devouring Soul Emperor

Under the assault of the three blood-red pillars of light, the seal held for a moment before finally being shattered.

The three pillars of light tore through the seal, shooting straight up until they vanished into the boundless night sky.

The dome-shaped seal fully materialized. Cracks spread out from the three breaches, and the seal began to crumble away, piece by piece.

The cracks spread rapidly, and the three holes in the seal grew larger and larger.

When the three massive holes connected, the entire seal suddenly and silently burst into countless fragments that quickly dissipated.

「Inside the ruins.」

Everyone understood. The seal on the Blood Sect ruins was gone. The Mutants and Mutated Demon Beasts were about to carry that terrifying, strange disease out into the Blood-soaked Land.

「Outside the ruins.」

Many people saw three blood-red pillars of light erupt from the direction of the Blood Sect ruins and disappear into the night sky. A sense of foreboding rose in many of their hearts.

"Don't be sad, Mu Xiaoxiao," Chu Qingyun said after the seal had completely shattered. "We did our best. Besides, even if the seal is broken, Cold Star City is still a long way from here."

Mu Xiaoxiao bit her lip and nodded. "Mm, I know. We should leave quickly. Now that the seal is broken, the entire ruins will probably be thrown into turmoil soon. There's bound to be bloodshed and carnage outside."

Three emperor-level desiccated corpses had led the charge to break the seal.

One could only imagine that the Mutants and Mutated Demon Beasts in the Blood Sect ruins would soon come rushing out.

When that happened, the people outside the ruins and the Demon Beasts in the nearby mountains would be the first to suffer. After that, it would probably be Blood Abyss City and the humans living around this mountain range.

The strange disease would surely spread at an explosive rate.

If they couldn't escape before it spread, they would likely be caught among the mutated monsters. It would be a near-certain death—or rather, absolutely no chance of survival!

However, Chu Qingyun wasn't in a hurry to leave. Instead, his eyes were once again fixed on the Array Platform that served as the Array Base.

The Six Imperial Demon-Sealing Array was now broken, and the dome-shaped seal in the sky had completely shattered, but this Array Platform was still operating. A dazzling pillar of power still shone from it.

Mu Xiaoxiao was a little speechless. "Chu Qingyun, you're not actually thinking of going after that Array Platform, are you?"

"Heh heh," Chu Qingyun chuckled dryly. "The Grand Array is destroyed anyway, so there's no point in leaving this Array Base behind. I might as well take it before someone else does."

After speaking, Chu Qingyun quickly gathered a stream of Primordial Power in his palm and flung it toward the Array Platform.

He hadn't studied Arrays much and didn't know the Martial Soul Hall's method for slowly dismantling an Array Base, so he could only resort to a brute-force attack.

However, just as the Primordial Power was about to make contact with the Array Platform, a milky white light appeared on its surface and calmly absorbed the energy.

"This..."

Chu Qingyun was caught completely off guard.

He hadn't expected the Array Base to still have its own defenses even after the Grand Array had been broken.

Chu Qingyun tried again with his Iron Thread Ten-Star Vine Martial Soul. The three of them even combined their strength, using their most powerful attacks like the Thunder Sword.

But the milky white light accepted everything thrown at it, absorbing all of their attacks. Their assaults couldn't even cause a ripple in the light, let alone damage the Array Platform.

'Sigh, with such a powerful defense, I'm not sure even the Devouring Power could handle it…' Chu Qingyun thought with a helpless sigh.

It was not a pleasant feeling at all, being able to see so many treasures but not being able to take them.

However, after his sigh, he decisively gave up. He, Mu Xiaoxiao, and Dai immediately rushed toward the exit of the ruins.

The seal was broken, and the ruins would surely descend into turmoil very soon.

Three emperor-level desiccated corpses had fully awakened, and there were likely even more king-level ones. Moreover, no one knew how many other corpses had yet to awaken, or hadn't fully awakened.

Therefore, staying here to fight a losing battle with the Array Platform would not only fail to secure it but would also likely get them killed.

After the Six Imperial Demon-Sealing Array was destroyed, everyone in the ruins instantly understood the gravity of the situation and began to flee frantically.

At night, the activity of the Mutants and Mutated Demon Beasts would normally decrease significantly.

However, with so many people rushing out frantically, they ended up waking a huge number of Mutants and Mutated Demon Beasts. The entire ruins descended into complete chaos.

People were fleeing everywhere, with mutated creatures hot on their heels.

Because all three of them knew the Hidden Qi Technique, their situation in this chaotic environment was much better than the average person's.

Even so, they were still frequently attacked by Mutants or Mutated Demon Beasts. Fortunately, the three of them were quite strong, and ordinary mutated creatures had a hard time injuring them.

Their luck was pretty good. They ran for the entire night without encountering any king-level or emperor-level Mutants.

By dawn, as the sky began to lighten, the three of them had already descended the mountain and were about to leave the Blood Sect ruins.

But just then, a figure appeared before them, rushing into the ruins at a speed so fast it was almost a blur.

Upon seeing Chu Qingyun's group, the figure came to an abrupt halt. "Junior Brother Chu, I can't believe I ran into you!"

It turned out this person was none other than Qi Hao, an Inner Sect Disciple of the Saint Extreme Sect.

Qi Hao had been waiting outside the ruins for days. When he saw the three blood-red pillars of light and the shattering seal during the night, he sensed something was wrong. However, being cautious, he didn't rush into the ruins.

Starting from midnight, he began to see a steady stream of people fleeing past him out of the ruins. He even saw some Mutants and Mutated Demon Beasts.

Of course, Spirit Level mutated monsters were no match for Qi Hao; he dispatched them with a single blow.

During this time, Qi Hao had grabbed a few people to question them, but they didn't know much, and their accounts were mostly fragmented and incoherent. He couldn't get any clear information from them.

So, once dawn broke, Qi Hao could no longer restrain himself and decided to enter the ruins to investigate. He hadn't expected to run right into Chu Qingyun and his companions.
