Disciple of Immortal

Episode 29: The Hundred Demons Riding Galan

"There was really a sighting of a Bosgin-like man in the city, wasn't there?

"Oh, it's true! For some reason, he stayed after the Red Warrant Cane was recovered."

I was hunting for the rest of the Blood Cup in the Magic City, and I was reunited with Bennett the Knight... again, for some reason, with him in action.

After approaching her colleague Noel, Bennett moved her to the shelter, where she came to tell me about Bosguin.

"... so why were you looking for me on purpose, without going on your own?

When I glanced, Bennett grinned and grabbed my arm.

"Oh, don't be so evil, hey, Kanata. If it's the first thing, why don't you pour it into the water?

"Don't touch me sticky"

Bennett takes his hand off my arm, turns from a feisty laugh, and looks serious.

"Honestly... Bosguin can't be hostile to me or Noel. Even I want to live shamelessly as a knight. But I can't help but imitate the damage with recklessness. We all care about Fumiko. But that's to show us that we're the spear that protects our country. So defending the face and the country, that order must not be reversed"

Bennett speaks sparingly.

"Bosguin is a different character, a real Phantom. Killers of class A adventurers aren't the ones who fell for money. Cursed people who could have been heroes or anything, but wished it was just a killer. Bosguin is leading those cursed men with only pure violence. Bosguin must be discussed here. Defeating him will also save 10,000 victims that he will create in the future."

There was enthusiasm in Bennett's narrative.

I thought he was a thin, unfortunate guy with no faith whatsoever, but I felt like I could only believe that word.

"... I'm sorry, Mr. Bennett, I was the one who said boring mean things before the crisis in the city."

"Besides, this is our last chance to collect the Red Warrant Wand! I didn't think I could do it anymore, but the fact that Bosguin is here still means Red Warrant Cane is here too! Whatever happens, my family name is gonna be a bummer because of me! When it does! Pa, what a father would look like!

I held my forehead by my hand and was frustrated.

It is better to protect your family name than to defend your country earlier. It doesn't feel like you have a fever.

"But... do you really think Bosguin is still in this city? Don't you know best that the Red Right Wand, which was Bosguin's purpose, was definitely in their hands?

"Of course I doubted that.... However, there is a good chance that more dangerous people are moving in the shadow of the Blood Cup in this disturbance. Maybe it's out of Bosguin's mind."

"Dangerous people...?

Bennett nods at my words.

"I heard when I left Noel at the shelter that the head of Black Reaper... he has sightings of a man who looks like Rovis"

"Black Reaper"... Rovis...?

I put my finger on my chin and think.

Then came to mind the figure of Rovis, who was grounded.

I felt my expression distorted.

"Come on, you don't know? He's a dangerous man with a fighting maniac. The scale and damage are smaller than the Blood Cup, but many knights are rather jeopardizing this one. He's the one who's been scratching a bunch of cases from behind."

"Well, yes... I know..."

"Rovis may be trying to get out of Bosguin and plunder the Red Right Wand. It is my opinion that Bosguin can no longer leave the city because he is chewing. If they crush each other, there's nothing more to be thankful for... but the problem is, if there really was a Red Right Wand in Rovis' hand"

"... what happens?

"Rovis is really a man who can't read any of his actions. I don't imitate things like chasing understandable profits. Among the few criminals, he's broken. Outlaw has the law of outlaw, but he doesn't obey any of it. If it's in his hands... it's hopeless to take it back."

"Ha... I also feel like if I ask you to give it back..."

You know, Kanata, it's not like I'm joking.

Bennett turns to a nearby building.

The roof is cracked and there's a big hole.

No other building has collapsed so far.

"Bosguin should have been headed around here."

"That building, it looks like a trail where the battle was. Looks like you should do a little research."

Me and Bennett nodded face-to-face and headed to the building.

"Damn, you're distorting the door, damn it"

Bennett tried to open the door, so zero.

I kicked the side wall and drilled a hole.

"Let's go. If you're not here, you need to hit something else."

"... oh, yeah, right"

Bennett nodded and followed me.

Inside the collapsed building, a bloody giant had fallen.

The neck was twisted in an unlikely direction and there was no doubt that it was already dead.

Bennett stares blindly at the wreckage.

"Mr. Bennett, that's..."

"Definitely… Bosguin, the head of the Blood Cup. But how could this be...? I knew Rovis did it..."

Bennett speaks in horror.

"Oh... have I been seen"

From the shadows, one long-sleeved man reveals himself.

Bennett set up his sword in a great panic, but dropped it from his hand with his opponent in his eyes.

The opponent, like Bennett, was wrapped in armor with a blue pattern on the gold.

I can hear more decorations than Bennett's.

He was a big blonde, featuring a rough mustache.

"Ga, Dear Galan......!

Bennett mumbles.

"Oh, it's been a while, Bennett! Ha, I thought you were a knight because I saw armor, but no way with you, no, I miss you! Isn't the armor getting a little sarcastic?

Galan, and the man so called, raised his hand to Bennett in affection.

"Yes, no, I'm still immature...!

"Do you know him?

When I asked, Bennett nodded small.

Galan seemed happy, but Bennett looked anxious.

"Oh, oh... yeah, but things are weird"

Bennett said that in a whisper so he could talk to me.

"A knight among knights... who has the title of Hundred Demons Knight. If that one does, I don't think he can beat Bosguin, either, one-on-one. But..."

"But...?

"That man... Master Galan has been missing for three years. I don't have a proper sighting yet, and I've already said that Master Galan is dead..."

Bennett's condition is more perplexing than joy.

He seemed to feel something unnatural about Galan's survival.

I put my gaze back on Galan.

Galan was still, laughing and waving over here.

But that smile didn't seem creepy to me.
