Chapter 2532 - 2533: Unable to Discover
When Gitalien arrived, there were two more space rifts, one of which had pierced the barrier of the starry sky.
"What are you... doing here?"
Gitalien looked at Feng Yuan and his companions in confusion. It didn’t quite understand why they were destroying the space layer here. Could there be some special reason?
"Hmm, waiting for you, and incidentally giving that incessantly attacking creature a lesson, though it seems not so easy."
Feng Yuan glanced at the space rift and spoke. Through the rift, one could see the distant starry sky, but not only that, the silhouette of a bronze statue was visible, though it hadn’t crossed the rift to reach their location.
Is it unwilling or unable? Feng Yuan didn’t know, but he understood that this thing is probably more troublesome than those they encountered before. After all, those strange things they encountered earlier, while they had immortality, didn’t possess such unique abilities.
Despite lacking concrete evidence, Feng Yuan firmly believed the strange sense of sorrow was derived from the bronze statue.
"Incessantly attacking? Can’t trap it?"
Gitalien recalled those creatures that couldn’t be killed and asked in confusion. Veronia snorted lightly and said,
"You could give it a try."
"You are... Veronia? Why has your power turned out like this?"
Looking with curiosity at Crystal Queen Veronia, Gitalien nearly failed to recognize them. The only reason it identified them as Veronia was because it saw Tamur.
There were only two Divine Beasts accompanying Feng Yuan. Veronia was absent, they only saw Tamur, but the power and attributes displayed by Crystal Queen Veronia, though different from Veronia, still belonged to Divine Beasts.
Gitalien didn’t think Feng Yuan would suddenly have another Divine Beast unknown to it. So the likelihood that the other was Veronia was high, yet it couldn’t understand why Veronia’s powers had changed in this way.
"The changes brought by those things, it’s unclear if they are good or bad, but definitely interesting."
Seeing the bronze statue unable to leave that space, Crystal Queen Veronia switched back to its original stance. As it returned, Gitalien initially thought it was a normal form change, but swiftly realized.
Switching between Good and Evil is a unique ability of some Divine Beasts, which they all knew well. But as far as it remembered, Veronia didn’t fall within the category of those Special Divine Beasts.
After all, those Divine Beasts inherently lacked either supportive or offensive Ultimate Moves, severely lacking combat capabilities in certain aspects, thus leading to such changes. Veronia didn’t belong to this type.
"It’s not clear yet if the changes are brought by this thing, or perhaps by that special space; honestly, that space feels rather complex."
Feng Yuan said while looking at Gitalien. Being a Space Divine Beast, Gitalien had advantages in investigating this matter, and simply checking if the space had issues wouldn’t take much time.
Looking at Feng Yuan in confusion, Tamur, as requested by Feng Yuan, inspected that space. During the process, Feng Yuan took the opportunity to explain to Gitalien in detail what happened.
Due to the strangeness of the bronze statue and the inability to judge if the changes in Veronia were good or bad, Gitalien dared not approach that space.
"The structure of the space layer is peculiar, as if it naturally exists in that region, but when I scanned with my authority, aside from the area disturbed by special red lightning, the space showed no trace."
Gitalien said with a puzzled expression. Initially, it was indifferent, but now it felt a chill creeping up, causing Feng Yuan to stroke his chin and say,
"Meaning, the authority of that space is above yours, or perhaps, that space lies outside the influence of your authority?"
These are the only two possibilities, but regardless of which, neither is good news. Although Gitalien’s authority isn’t the entirety of spatial authority, that doesn’t imply its range of influence is small. It can be said that very few things can elude its authority.
These things, logically, shouldn’t appear in the flow of time.
"You could say that."
Gitalien responded, staring at the space. The presence of the space rift forcibly revealed this nearly concealed space, but as a Space Divine Beast, it could only barely see this nearly invisible space by leveraging the power of red thunder, and even then, it failed to understand the space further.
Entering that space might yield some harvest, but she dared not ignore Feng Yuan’s warning, as that space affected even Veronia, let alone her. Despite nothing appearing wrong at the moment, no one can guarantee nothing will happen in the future.
Unless the origin of the change is identified, they dare not easily approach that space.
"By the way, what is the change in Tamur?"
Suddenly recalling something, Gitalien looked curiously at Tamur. Veronia’s Crystal Queen stance was purely an Attack Stance, while Tamur’s own position seemed vague, capable of everything but not specializing—what would it become if it underwent a change in stance?
"Nothing."
Circling around Feng Yuan, Tamur calmly replied,
"I haven’t experienced such a change, though I do feel sadness."
"No change whatsoever?!"
Gitalien looked at Tamur in shock, having not anticipated this answer. The other nodded slightly, Feng Yuan, reminded by Gitalien’s words, scrutinized Tamur for a moment and said,
"It indeed seems that way. Tamur appears the same as Veronia, with no particular change. Wait, if so, what on earth is this stance change about?"
Feng Yuan felt as though another troublesome issue emerged. At this moment, the ocean waves suddenly intensified, forcing Veronia to strengthen the ice floes to prevent them from capsizing.
"Delong Tower has arrived."
Gitalien gazed not far off, sensing the presence of the entity.
"This is no time for fooling around."
With a light hum, Veronia expressed some dissatisfaction. Shortly afterward, Delong Tower appeared before them, prompting Feng Yuan to reiterate the events previously mentioned. After listening to Feng Yuan’s recitation, Delong Tower looked at him and said,
"You summon me, intending to seal this sea area?"
"That is temporarily the intention. I know this space involves more than the Starlit Sea, but currently, this is the only place visibly observable from the real world."
Nodding, Feng Yuan said, despite not knowing how long Veronia’s residual power would persist, with Gitalien around, maintaining the spatial rift wasn’t any real issue.
As for letting it repair and getting ready before venturing into that space?
Feng Yuan could only say the idea was good, but not realistic. Even for Feng Yuan, it was with the help of the attack and using the Ancient Black Book that he could trace that space. Once the spatial rift heals, Feng Yuan couldn’t ensure Gitalien and others would locate that space again.
Precisely because of this, Feng Yuan wasn’t worried about others accidentally entering that space unless drawn in by those creatures.
This site currently stands as a relatively obvious entry point, and without Delong Tower guarding, Feng Yuan genuinely feared someone might inadvertently venture in, even deep within the Starlit Sea.
"The only entry point?"
Gitalien inquired with curiosity. It didn’t ask how Feng Yuan and the others previously entered, sensing Feng Yuan’s means might not be thwarted by this space.
"More or less, at least for you all wanting to open a passage won’t be easy."
Shrugging, Feng Yuan spoke, seeing that Delong Tower had arrived, they explained what transpired here to Gitalien and others; afterward, Feng Yuan decided to head back.
Helplessly, staying wouldn’t uncover any useful clues, and Veronia’s condition was rather concerning, as its actions seemed unlike usual.
Though somewhat peculiar, Feng Yuan didn’t perceive any irregularities on Veronia, and thus could only regard the bronze statue’s presence as negatively impacting and interfering with Veronia.
Gitalien was unaware of Feng Yuan’s thoughts, but didn’t trouble them, as the Space Gate opened, Gitalien directly transported Feng Yuan and the others back to the outskirts of Maomu City.
The Temple’s power blocked space-time transitions but didn’t obstruct the original spatial movement means of entities within the world.
Thus, Gitalien was able to directly transport Feng Yuan and them to the edge of Maomu City, rather than the boundary of the sealed area.
