Chapter 2564 - 2565: Fortune and Misfortune
Even though Feng Yuan and the others brought the truth, Qi Hua City being abandoned was still inevitable, because Feng Yuan also didn’t know how to stop the transformation into disaster. Soul Projection was only a part of it; the erosion of the Qi Realm was the hardest part to deal with. Not only Feng Yuan, but even the Qi Realm Countries had no power to resist the Qi Realm.
The abandonment was truly helpless, or it could be said that the people of the Qi Realm world had long adapted to this disaster that could come at any time.
Because he arrived early, Feng Yuan had not seen the true face of the disaster transformation that could destroy all physical entities. Of course, Feng Yuan didn’t intend to leave either. Not only was he going to stay by Qi Realm Dou Yanlan’s side to capture the other party’s Soul Projection, but he also wanted to figure out what exactly the disaster transformation brought by the Qi Realm was.
Feng Yuan couldn’t forget one thing: the power of the Qi Realm actually wasn’t limited to just enveloping the Qi Realm Timeline. Those special areas they encountered in the Main World should be of the same origin as the Qi Realm. After all, the Soul Domain has very few possibilities.
The next day, the evacuation continued. Feng Yuan turned into the appearance of a Little Husky, perched on the back of the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound. Qi Realm Dou Yanlan was surprised that Feng Yuan could turn into a Spirit Beast, but didn’t say much.
Although she immediately reported her interaction with Feng Yuan, the higher-ups clearly didn’t trust Feng Yuan’s group that easily. Keeping them around her was a pretty good choice, at least it wouldn’t cause them to send someone else to keep watch.
"Is that the disaster transformation?"
Lying on the back of the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, Little Husky curiously looked around. Qi Chen and the others inevitably also observed the surrounding environment. War Qichen noticed something and pointed at a building on the left asking.
Qi Realm Dou Yanlan glanced briefly, her face grimly saying,
"That’s right. According to past conventions, the disaster erosion should start on the third day. I didn’t expect it to appear already on the second day this time."
"Speaking of which, isn’t the disaster transformation really unstoppable? Although it can make resources return, but... that belongs to meaningless resource recovery."
Little Husky swayed his tail, speaking in doubt. He wasn’t asking Qi Realm Dou Yanlan, as she wasn’t too familiar with world operation rules and couldn’t know this.
"Theoretically, this shouldn’t exist, but this is a time tributary, perhaps that’s why it’s special."
Veronia said as she surveyed her surroundings. The erosion of disaster transformation wasn’t very obvious yet. At least, apart from the position War Qichen pointed out, other areas hadn’t shown obvious signs of disaster transformation.
"Is there a possibility to confront an irresolvable natural phenomenon?"
Dou Yanlan asked in confusion. In her understanding, humans could only evade the unbeatable cataclysms, unable to eliminate them from the front.
"Hmm, generally speaking, even apocalyptic disasters can be overcome directly, but the difficulty isn’t ordinary. Well, naturally occurring catastrophes usually result from conflicts created by many natural systems operating, while disasters like disaster transformation, from a single-system origin, aren’t conventionally about an undefeatable existence."
Little Husky shook his ears as he spoke, using words that were hard for Qi Chen to understand. Even War Qichen had to think for a while to grasp their meaning.
"Natural disasters are induced by multiple factors, hence they are hard to resolve. However, a disaster induced by a single factor, isn’t as difficult?"
Looking at Little Husky, War Qichen asked tentatively. Little Husky nodded slightly and said,
"That’s about right. Theoretically speaking, disasters originating from the Qi Realm could be mitigated through confrontation with the Qi Realm. It’s just that, I don’t know how deep your research on this is."
"We... It’s ridiculous to say we only study the Qi Realm as a rich yet perilous resource area."
Dou Yanlan chuckled self-deprecatingly. Her heart was filled with mixed feelings. She didn’t expect that Feng Yuan and his group had learned so much intel just from one trip to the Qi Realm, even understanding the truth about the disaster transformation.
Though these insights still couldn’t substantially assist them, for they have a love-hate relationship with the Qi Realm, achieving nothing against it.
"Not necessarily. Remember Feng En, who perceived the timeline war using the Qi Realm’s power, despite some special reasons. But at its core, the Qi Realm has already exceeded the category of a solitary timeline."
Little Husky’s dog face rarely showed a serious expression. Feng Yuan was not joking. Whether it’s the Imperial Timeline or the War Timeline, their trump card was the Anti-Divine Beast Rune, which wasn’t directly connected to the Main World.
However, the Qi Realm is different. It clearly has connections to special spaces in the Main World, and even the attackers didn’t arrive via timeline transitioning, but through the Qi Realm space.
All these prove the Qi Realm is in some sense more perilous than the Anti-Divine Beast Rune. For the Anti-Divine Beast Rune is an item, allowing specific targeted annihilation, but the Qi Realm...
With a scale of this magnitude, except for the self-destruction of the time tributary, any human-made destruction could potentially trigger greater unrest. Of course, Feng Yuan and the others also suspect that even if the Qi Realm’s time tributary perishes, the Qi Realm itself would likely still exist.
Because that phenomenon has clearly become a part of the Main World rules.
"It’s just, the Qi Realm, born of the time tributary, theoretically shouldn’t have corresponding Divine Beasts."
Veronia spoke with a strange expression about the origin of the Qi Realm supposedly being this time tributary. However, the time tributary doesn’t permit the birth of Divine Beasts, while typically a special domain will eventually have corresponding Divine Beasts managing that domain.
Even the Data Domain, for its recent emergence, hasn’t yet seen the appearance of a Data System Divine Beast.
This presents a quandary. A time tributary certainly cannot birth Divine Beasts. Yet, the Qi Realm born from a time tributary, conventionally, should produce related Divine Beasts.
"Perhaps the Main World births corresponding Divine Beasts. After all, the Qi Realm has become part of the Main World rule."
Little Husky shook his ears in response. Normally, this wouldn’t occur, but this isn’t a normal situation. Suddenly realizing something, Little Husky spoke again with a quirked expression.
"Come to think of it, have you noticed that time tributaries seem like resource supplements for the Main World? Although the Qi Realm Timeline is special, both War and Empire facilitate supplementing lacking means."
"It does appear that way, but maybe that’s the Qi Realm Timeline’s fortune."
Instantly, Veronia understood Feng Yuan’s point. She glanced at Qi Realm Dou Yanlan and said with a hint of pity. Qi Chen looked at Dou Yanlan’s serious expression, puzzled, and asked,
"Why is it fortunate?"
"If the Anti-Divine Beast Rune is the primary resource War and Empire can offer to the Main World, the Qi Realm Timeline provides special Qi Realm. According to his saying, the Qi Realm itself has integrated into the Main World. You all don’t have the reason to start a war with the Qi Realm Timeline for this."
War Qichen spoke with a hint of envy. Though their East Continent Great Xia had allied with the Great Xia, seemingly not to become United Army’s offensive target, this was only because they didn’t possess the Anti-Divine Beast Rune.
Although not explicitly mentioned, since the United Army is still stabilizing in the Imperial Timeline, they all know eventually, as time passes, they will clash with countries controlling the Anti-Divine Beast Runes, eventually seizing this crucial resource.
However, the Qi Realm Timeline doesn’t have this worry, for they haven’t mastered the Qi Realm itself, let alone its notoriously odd nature.
"This kind of fortune doesn’t really make one happy."
Qi Realm Dou Yanlan smiled bitterly. Though some things weren’t clear to her, spending time listening to Feng Yuan’s group’s casual discussions—especially with Feng Yuan personally sharing information—suggests knowing the dangers their world faces.
Except, now hearing this, it seems the possibility of war declaration isn’t as high as imagined.
"At least, it’s better than ultimately being forced to become adversaries, right? Moreover, although you outwardly don’t conduct much research on the Qi Realm, secretly, it might be different. I don’t believe that Feng En is an isolated case, or that he alone mastered using the Qi Realm’s power for his goals."
Little Husky shook his tail feeling he grasped something, yet remained short of full understanding.
