For every Grand Competition it holds, Taiqing Academy invites the Five Great Forces to attend. Of course, this inevitably includes some sparring matches between the disciples of these great forces.

However, these spars weren’t like the Five Directions Martial Assembly, as there were no rewards for victory.

Puzhu mentioned that this time, Taiqing Academy hadn’t invited the other three major powers, only Flawless Palace. No one knew what Taiqing Academy was thinking.

"Lin Yun, the Palace Master feels it’s inconvenient for him to leave Flawless Palace right now. He wants you to lead a few disciples to Taiqing Academy. You will also be the one to discuss the Qing Zhu Association matter with Wei Yunhang. The Dean of Taiqing Academy has already agreed to this," Puzhu explained.

Lin Yun’s expression didn’t change upon hearing Puzhu’s words, but inwardly, he knew the truth. ’Luo Feng is just lazy. He’s dumping all of this on me so he can cultivate peacefully in Flawless Palace and enjoy some tender moments with Mo Qingshui and Bai Ling.’

Though he thought this, Luo Feng had already given the order. Lin Yun had no choice but to nod in agreement.

As for which disciples to take to Taiqing Academy, Lin Yun couldn’t be bothered to think about it. He decided to just let Bai Zhicheng and He Yuntian pick them. ’Not too many people,’ he figured, ’about ten should be enough.’

After finishing his report on Taiqing Academy, Puzhu asked a bit sheepishly, "Lin Yun, did you do something to offend the Palace Master? When he summoned me today, he said that if you screw this up and bring shame to Flawless Palace, he’s going to skin you alive."

Lin Yun could only manage a helpless smile. Of course he knew why Luo Feng was angry. ’It’s all because Little Ape had to break through right inside Flawless Palace, isn’t it?’

Now Luo Feng had dumped everything on him, leaving himself free to relax. This was nothing short of the Palace Master using his position to settle a personal score.

’Go to Taiqing Academy to discuss the Qing Zhu Association? What is there even to discuss?’ To put it bluntly, Luo Feng just didn’t want to go but couldn’t lose face by refusing, so he’d shoved the entire responsibility onto him.

Leaving Puzhu, Lin Yun sighed in resignation. "Such a petty master," he muttered. "Who can possibly control when they break through and have to face a Celestial Punishment? Besides, it’s not like anything bad even happened."

Instead of returning to Lu Bingning and Lan Xi, Lin Yun first went to Bai Zhicheng’s courtyard and summoned He Yuntian as well.

Taking the main seat, Lin Yun explained the situation with Taiqing Academy to Bai Zhicheng and He Yuntian, who were seated before him. He then told them to select a few disciples to accompany them.

However, Lin Yun did have one requirement for the selection: they were not to choose only Direct Disciples. They needed to pick some Inner Sect and Outer Disciples as well.

Bai Zhicheng and He Yuntian naturally had no objections to Lin Yun’s instructions.

Once the official business was concluded, the three began to chat. He Yuntian spoke up at this point, "Senior Brother, you only just broke through to the Celestial Spirit Realm. How come I can’t see through your cultivation at all anymore?"

Hearing He Yuntian’s question, Bai Zhicheng nodded in agreement. He couldn’t discern Lin Yun’s cultivation level either.

Lin Yun simply smiled in response to their question, saying nothing. The War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique were his secrets; he naturally couldn’t tell them.

After staying for an hour, Lin Yun informed them as he left that he would be heading to Wind City in a couple of days. He would travel directly from Wind City to Taiqing Academy, and the group would rendezvous there.

After leaving Bai Zhicheng’s home, Lin Yun returned to Lu Bingning’s courtyard. He had been gone all afternoon, and the two women were still sitting there, waiting for him.

Seeing them still sitting in the courtyard, Lin Yun smiled faintly. He sat down between them, wrapping an arm around each, and said with a grin, "We’ll set off for Wind City tomorrow."

Hearing this, both women smiled and nodded.

The next morning, Lin Yun left Flawless Palace with Lu Bingning and Lan Xi.

It was a rare opportunity for the three of them to relax, and since they weren’t in a hurry, they didn’t rush. They traveled at a leisurely pace from Flawless Palace toward Wind City.

He had been in the Eastern Heart Domain for several years, but moments as carefree as this were few and far between. Lin Yun savored the leisurely time, teasing the two women into fits of laughter as they all admired the passing scenery.

The scenery of the Flawless Waters was magnificent, especially on the road from Flawless Palace to Wind City. The landscape was lush and verdant, dotted with many scenic spots.

They traveled for a full day but only covered half the distance. As night fell, Lin Yun found a clearing to pitch a tent, planning for the three of them to spend the night there.

"Wait here for me. I’m going to go catch a Demon Beast," Lin Yun said to the two women after the tent was set up. He hadn’t roasted his own Demon Beast Flesh in a long time, and the sudden memory gave him a powerful craving.

As a Celestial Spirit Realm expert, hunting a Demon Beast was a simple task for Lin Yun. Leaving the two women to wait at the camp, he took Little Ape and flew toward a nearby mountain ridge.

Not long after Lin Yun left, as the two women were chatting by the campfire, a dozen or so men suddenly emerged from the woods in front of them. By all appearances, they were a band of bandits.

The group’s cultivation levels were quite decent. Five of them were at the Ninth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm, while the rest were at the Seventh or Eighth Layer.

From a distance, the men had only seen two figures by the fire. As they drew closer, however, they all froze, their eyes lighting up with greed.

’So beautiful!’ The two women before them were like goddesses descended to the mortal realm. They had never seen such exquisite beauties. A primal lust flared within each of them. ’To have women like these, even for a single night... they would be willing to pay any price.’

"Boss..." one of them began.

"I know," the leader chuckled. "Brothers, it’s our lucky day."

The two women knew exactly what the looks on the men’s faces meant. Their expressions darkened as they watched the men warily, wondering when such a band of outlaws had appeared in the lands surrounding Flawless Palace.

Robbers and bandits had never appeared around Flawless Palace before. Of course, the two women had no way of knowing that these men weren’t actually bandits, but rather guards from several of Wind City’s great families.

However, these particular families had all been affiliated with the Qing Zhu Association. After Lin Yun had slaughtered them, these survivors had fled Wind City in terror. With nowhere else to go, they planned to wait for the heat to die down before returning.

That was why they had gathered here in the depths of the old forest.

"Heh heh, don’t be afraid, you two celestial beauties. We won’t hurt you. We can be very gentle," the leader said with a sickening grin, his eyes fixed on Lu Bingning and Lan Xi.

Hearing his words and seeing his lecherous expression, Lan Xi snorted coldly. "Get lost."

"Ooh, she’s a feisty one," the man sneered, completely unfazed by Lan Xi’s retort. "In these deep, dark woods, how about you let us brothers keep you two celestial beauties company tonight?" The men brazenly leered at the women’s figures, erupting into boisterous laughter.
