Chapter 597: Imparting the Cultivation Technique (Part 1)
Hearing the Emperor’s words, Lin Yun looked at him with an air of indifference. Under Lin Yun’s gaze, the Emperor’s voice came to an abrupt stop, and he worried that his words had angered him.
That’s just how people are. When you’re weak, they look down on you. But when you become so strong that all they can do is look up in awe, a single, casual glance from you is enough to fill them with terror.
This was precisely the case with the Emperor. Back when he had put out a warrant for Lin Yun, he had probably seen him as nothing more than an ant. Now, years later, as they faced each other again, their roles were completely reversed. In Lin Yun’s eyes, the Emperor was now the ant.
After a long silence, Lin Yun finally spoke slowly, "Your Majesty, my father, my mother, and I... our hearts no longer lie with Yanhuang Country. So, you should stop entertaining certain thoughts. I only have one thing to say to you: do not try to scheme against my Lin Family again."
With that said, Lin Yun rose and left. Watching his retreating figure, both the Ninth Princess and the Emperor sighed, their hearts filled with complex emotions.
Biting her lip lightly, it was impossible to tell what the Ninth Princess was thinking. The Emperor, however, murmured to himself, "So their hearts no longer lie with Yanhuang Country... Right. Yanhuang Country is too small..."
After leaving the Purple Gold Hall, Lin Yun mounted the Black-striped Tiger’s back. Little Ape shrank back to the size of a fist and stood on the tiger’s head, and the three of them left the Imperial Palace together.
"Hey, Xiaohai, how come you’ve broken through to Tier Four but haven’t awakened your Bloodline Power yet?" Little Ape asked casually, lounging boredly on the Black-striped Tiger’s head on their way back.
Hearing this, the corner of the Black-striped Tiger’s mouth twitched. ’Was Bloodline Power really that easy to awaken?’ Awakening Bloodline Power was simple for a Pure-blooded Demon Beast, but if a beast’s bloodline was impure, it might go its entire life without ever awakening it.
The Black-striped Tiger wasn’t a Pure-blooded Demon Beast in the first place. Its ability to break through to a Tier Four Demon Beast in such a short time was entirely thanks to the hundreds of Demon Cores Lin Yun had left for it.
"Little Ape, Xiaohai’s bloodline isn’t pure," Lin Yun said with a laugh. "If we want him to awaken his Bloodline Power, how about I refine your Essence Blood and give it to him? If Xiaohai consumes your Essence Blood, he’ll definitely be able to awaken his Bloodline Power. What do you say?"
Hearing this, Little Ape retorted grumpily, "Big Brother, it’s not that I’m being stingy. I’m afraid Xiaohai wouldn’t be able to refine my Essence Blood."
Though he said this, Little Ape was naturally reluctant. Having one’s Essence Blood refined meant utter annihilation.
"Haha. Xiaohai, once we head out this time, we’ll find an opportunity to improve your bloodline’s purity," Lin Yun said with a smile, patting the Black-striped Tiger’s head.
At these words, the Black-striped Tiger let out a good-natured grin.
Riding atop the Black-striped Tiger, no one dared to block Lin Yun’s path. It was no surprise; over the past year, the Black-striped Tiger had become famous throughout Yanhuang Country. Who didn’t know by now that this massive black tiger was a Tier Four Demon Beast?
Arriving back home at a leisurely pace, the Lin Family guards all greeted Lin Yun respectfully. As they watched his retreating figure, the guards began to whisper amongst themselves.
"So that’s the Young Master? I can’t sense his aura at all. I wonder what his Cultivation level is."
"Of course you can’t. You’re only at the Qi Sea Realm. I went with the Young Master to the Imperial Palace today, and I saw with my own eyes how he casually put the Forbidden Guard Army’s Primordial Ocean Realm Commander in his place."
Lin Yun naturally overheard their discussion. A small smile touched his lips as he murmured to himself, ’These guys... if they’re going to be guards for the Lin Family, isn’t their Cultivation a bit too pathetic?’
Lin Yun found the Cultivation of his family’s guards to be too low. The Lin Family didn’t have many guards—only eighteen in total. The one with the highest Cultivation was a Martial Artist at the Seventh Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm, who served as the commander of the guards.
Below him in rank were two at the Fourth Level of Primordial Ocean Realm; the rest were around the Eighth and Ninth Layer of the Qi Sea Realm.
’The Qi Sea Realm is such a low level of Cultivation,’ Lin Yun thought. ’I should probably help them improve. After all, they’re my family’s guards. If they’re too weak, I’ll lose face too. Besides, what kind of guards can they be without any real strength?’
Letting the Black-striped Tiger and Little Ape go off to play, Lin Yun found Lin Xiaotian and explained his idea.
After listening to Lin Yun, Lin Xiaotian asked, "You want to train our guards?"
"Yes, Father. Since they’re guards of the Lin Family, how can they only have the Cultivation of the Qi Sea Realm? They should be at the Celestial Spirit Realm, at the very least. Otherwise, how will they protect you and Mother in the future?" Lin Yun replied.
Not only that, but Lin Yun also planned to recruit more guards. With only eighteen guards, the Lin Mansion felt understaffed for its size, and many areas had no one assigned to them.
Lin Xiaotian didn’t object to Lin Yun’s ideas. They had only recruited a small number of guards initially because both he and Zhang Jingxiang felt that having too many people around would be inconvenient and would compromise their freedom.
However, after hearing Lin Yun out, he agreed that the family’s security had to be taken seriously. Lin Xiaotian gave his approval and, without getting involved in the details, left everything for Lin Yun to manage on his own.
With Lin Xiaotian’s approval, Lin Yun quickly summoned all the family’s guards to the Martial Arts Training Ground in the rear courtyard. While not huge, the training ground was several hundred square meters, large enough to accommodate twenty or thirty people practicing at once without any issue.
"Young Master..." The eighteen men stood in two rows, their expressions full of adoration as they looked at Lin Yun and called out to him.
Nodding slightly, Lin Yun’s gaze fell on the Guard Commander at the front, the one at the Seventh Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm. He asked calmly, "What is your name?"
"My name is Mo Zhi, Young Master," Mo Zhi replied.
"Mo Zhi... Good. Now, I want you to attack me with your full strength. If you can even touch my clothes, I will reward you with ten thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones," Lin Yun said.
Hearing this, Mo Zhi was clearly stunned. He didn’t know what Lin Yun was up to. Offering a reward of ten thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones... that was an astronomical sum.
"Young Master..." Unsure of Lin Yun’s intentions, Mo Zhi began to question him.
But before he could finish, Lin Yun cut him off. "Attack me with your full strength."
As Lin Yun insisted, Mo Zhi paused for a moment, then nodded. The Elemental Power of a cultivator at the Seventh Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm gathered in his right fist. Since the Young Master had said to use his full strength, Mo Zhi would naturally hold nothing back.
"Gale Fist!" with a low shout, Mo Zhi launched a ferocious punch toward Lin Yun.
Facing Mo Zhi’s all-out attack, Lin Yun remained completely still, his hands clasped behind his back, showing no intention of dodging. Just as Mo Zhi’s fist came within inches of his body, an incomparably terrifying wave of Elemental Power erupted from Lin Yun.
The Elemental Power formed a protective barrier, encasing Lin Yun’s body. As his fist slammed into the shield, Mo Zhi discovered that his attack couldn’t even break through Lin Yun’s defensive Elemental Power.
