Hearing what Lin Yun said and seeing the smile on his face, Li Tian looked as if he had already guessed what Lin Yun would do. He spread his hands helplessly, shrugged, and said, "Young Master Lin, since I’ve chosen to follow you, it’s my duty to solve your problems. But... am I free to use any means necessary?"

"Of course. But in three months’ time, I want no other Core Disciple factions left in Wind City," Lin Yun replied with a smile.

’It wasn’t that Lin Yun was too lazy to dump it all on Li Tian. The matter was just too thorny, and he really didn’t want to deal with it. In a situation like this, he could only have Li Tian step up.’

Seeing that the sky was gradually brightening, Lin Yun said to Bai Ling, "Patriarch Bai, I hope the Bai Family will give me its full support in the future."

"Of course," Bai Ling chuckled.

After taking care of a few more matters, Lin Yun departed for Flawless Palace.

On the way back, Lin Yun mused over the night’s events. ’I can’t believe I gained the Bai Family’s support in a single night. Even though Luo Feng had a hand in it, I’m still very satisfied with the result. The only thing that irks me is how irresponsible Luo Feng is as a Palace Master.’

’Luo Feng probably told Bai Ling the moment I left Flawless Palace. It looks like he had this planned all along.’

"Seriously, he dumps everything on me. I feel less like his disciple and more like his servant," Lin Yun said with a sigh and a smile.

It was nearly evening when he returned to Flawless Palace. Just as he stepped into his courtyard, Lin Yun saw Lu Bingning and Lan Xi. Stranger still, Luo Feng was there too, happily chatting with the two women.

"Haha, I never knew the Palace Master was such a joker." One of them giggled, covering her mouth. Judging by their expressions, both women were clearly amused by Luo Feng.

COUGH, COUGH. Lin Yun cleared his throat. For some reason, seeing Lu Bingning and Lan Xi chatting so enthusiastically with Luo Feng made him instinctively wary. Luo Feng was, after all, a seasoned Casanova.

Hearing Lin Yun’s cough, Lu Bingning and Lan Xi turned to the courtyard entrance. When they saw it was him, the two women cheerfully ran over.

"I heard you went to Wind City?" Lan Xi asked with a smile.

"Yeah. What were you and Master talking about?" Lin Yun nodded slightly, asking with feigned casualness.

At that, Little Ape appeared out of nowhere and landed on Lin Yun’s shoulder. He yawned and said, "Big Brother, they were listening to Palace Master Luo tell jokes."

Hearing this, Lin Yun just said, "Oh." He then chatted with the two women for a few moments, as Luo Feng was waiting off to the side, looking like he had something to say.

After a brief chat, Lin Yun told the two women to go back and get some rest, reminding them to prepare for their early departure the next morning.

Once the two women had left, Lin Yun went over to the stone table and sat down. Without waiting for Luo Feng’s permission, he picked up his master’s wine jug and poured himself a cup.

"Master, with something this important, weren’t you afraid I’d mess it all up?" Lin Yun complained after taking a sip of wine.

Seeing Lin Yun’s aggrieved expression, Luo Feng burst out laughing. "It’s because you’re so capable that you have more to do! You know I’m a busy man. When it came to Wind City, I thought long and hard, and you were the only one suitable for the job."

"Besides, you have the Bai and He Families helping you now, don’t you? With their support, handling things in Wind City shouldn’t be too difficult."

Lin Yun didn’t say anything in response to Luo Feng. ’Busy? You’re probably busy with your romantic rendezvous. Not difficult? The complex web of relationships in Wind City is enough to give anyone a headache just thinking about it.’

"Alright, alright. I waited for you to tell you this in person: you need to handle things in Wind City as soon as possible. I’ve made some progress myself these last few days. People from that organization have also infiltrated the other Four Great Forces. This whole affair probably isn’t so simple."

Without giving Lin Yun a chance to reply, Luo Feng left the courtyard the moment he finished speaking.

Lin Yun was at a loss for words when it came to his master. ’Thank goodness for Li Tian,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, I’d really be worked to death.’

Since he was heading to the Spiritless Wilderness the next day, Lin Yun made some preparations that night before closing his eyes to cultivate.

The night passed uneventfully. Early the next morning, the fifty chosen Disciples were already waiting at the entrance to Demon Beast Ridge. Although the journey to the Spiritless Wilderness wouldn’t take long, they would still need to make preparations upon arrival.

The fifty people were split among five Firebirds, led by three Supreme Elders. Without further delay, the five Firebirds flapped their wings and flew out of Flawless Palace.

In the group of fifty-three, Lin Yun, Lu Bingning, and Lan Xi shared one Firebird. As they flew out over the Flawless Waters, the three Supreme Elders sat cross-legged with their eyes closed on the back of the lead Firebird.

The Spiritless Wilderness was a place that no Martial Artist in the Eastern Heart Domain would ever visit. As its name suggested, the place was a Land of Death.

It wasn’t particularly dangerous. But in the Spiritless Wilderness, forget treasures—there wasn’t a single living thing to be found. Not even a Demon Beast could survive there.

Legend had it that a city once stood in the Spiritless Wilderness, but many years ago, it was massacred by a Celestial Saint Realm powerhouse named the Five Poison Saint.

True to his name, the Five Poison Saint cultivated a terrifying Poison Technique. Once unleashed, a deadly poison would corrode the land for miles in every direction, and any plant or animal that came into contact with it would die instantly.

Rumor had it that the Five Poison Saint was born in the very city he later slaughtered. During his childhood, he was apparently bullied by the people of the small city because of his ugly appearance.

Then, for unknown reasons, the Five Poison Saint mysteriously vanished. It was later rumored that he had gone to the Central Domain.

After cultivating for several hundred years in the Central Domain, the Five Poison Saint finally mastered his peerless Poison Technique, becoming a famed and formidable Celestial Saint Realm powerhouse.

To avenge the humiliations of his youth, the Five Poison Saint returned to the Eastern Domain, slaughtered the entire city, and razed it to the ground. The land for thousands of miles around it was transformed into a Land of Death.

Such was the fury of a true powerhouse—corpses piling up for miles. As a Celestial Saint Realm expert, the Five Poison Saint was among the most supreme figures on the entire Celestial Spirit Continent. When he annihilated a city, the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain dared not utter a word. Even historians refrained from recording the event, terrified of earning the Five Poison Saint’s enmity.

After a continuous ten-day flight, Lin Yun and the others finally laid eyes on the Spiritless Wilderness. There was a stark dividing line: on one side lay a lush, vibrant forest, while on the other was a barren, empty Land of Death.

The land was entirely reddish-brown, devoid of even a single weed. It looked utterly desolate. Though separated from the green forest by a mere line, it was like a completely different world.

Normally, no one ever came to the Spiritless Wilderness. There was nothing to be found there, aside from scattered bones.

Recently, however, an endless stream of people had been entering the Spiritless Wilderness. From five different directions, members of the Five Great Forces were also entering on their respective mounts.
