After standing for a moment before the dilapidated wooden house, Li Tian stepped inside. The ceiling and surrounding planks were in a state of utter disrepair. In the very center of the room sat a lone young man dressed in black.

"Five thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones," the young man said flatly upon seeing Li Tian enter.

Hearing this, Li Tian smiled faintly and tossed five thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones onto the table. After collecting the stones, the young man stood up, took a Token from his waist, and pressed it against the wooden floorboards.

The moment the Token touched the planks, an Array roughly three square meters in size glowed faintly. Then, where the floorboards had been, a passage leading underground appeared.

Unfazed, Li Tian stepped directly into the passage. He had come this time to find Imprisoned Dragon and Ning Shuang.

Li Tian had never met Imprisoned Dragon, but he had met Ning Shuang. During the Yanhuang List competition, Ning Shuang had declared her desire to follow Lin Yun and become his Maid. Afterward, Lin Yun had sent her to the Death Row Shelter.

The funny thing was, Lin Yun had entrusted Qing Zhu with sending Ning Shuang to the Death Row Shelter. To Li Tian’s surprise, Qing Zhu had actually gone through with it, arranging everything perfectly.

Recalling these past events, Li Tian smiled and muttered to himself, ’What a troublesome woman.’

Li Tian was, of course, referring to Qing Zhu. He could never figure out what that woman was thinking. He walked for about a hundred meters down the path. When he finally emerged from the tunnel, a massive underground Battle Arena appeared before him.

The Battle Arena was far from luxurious; in fact, it looked ancient. Dried bloodstains were visible everywhere. The seating consisted of large rocks and wooden stumps.

The surfaces of the stones weren’t even polished smooth, to say nothing of the splinters on the wooden stumps.

But one shouldn’t underestimate this old Battle Arena. It was the largest in all of Wood City. Looking around, the entire place was packed with people—a rough estimate would put the number at no less than ten thousand.

Furthermore, every person who entered had to pay an admission fee of five thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones. Just think of how much revenue the entrance fees alone would generate in a single day.

This Battle Arena was run by the Death Row Shelter, so in Wood City, no power or faction dared to cause trouble here. The design of the arena was also quite interesting.

Here, the competition wasn’t about direct strength, but about assassination techniques.

There was no fighting stage; the center of the Battle Arena was enveloped by a massive Array. From the audience, one could clearly see every movement inside it. However, upon entering the Array, one would discover it was pitch-black—so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.

Moreover, the Array was filled with objects for concealment, such as ruined houses, trees, and massive boulders. Here, the true deciding factor was the combatants’ skill in assassination.

"Sir, the match has just begun. Would you care to place a bet?" Li Tian had just emerged from the tunnel and hadn’t even found a seat yet when a scantily clad young woman approached him and asked.

Hearing this, Li Tian glanced at the two people in the Battle Arena, a man and a woman. Both had Cultivations at the Seventh Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm.

"I’ll bet on the woman to win. Five thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones," Li Tian said calmly.

"You have a good eye, sir. Sister Ning Shuang is on a thirty-match winning streak," the young woman replied with a smile.

That was right. One of the two people currently fighting was indeed Ning Shuang. Compared to her time in the Yanhuang Country, Ning Shuang had become even more of an icy beauty. She was more beautiful than before, and her killing intent was far heavier.

Taking the betting slip from the young woman, Li Tian casually found a seat and sat down, watching Ning Shuang in the center of the Battle Arena with a faint smile.

"Junior Sister Ning Shuang, come out! I already know where you are," the young man fighting Ning Shuang shouted, standing between several large trees.

Although he claimed to know her location, a closer look would reveal that his forehead was already beaded with sweat.

More than ten seconds passed with no response. As time ticked by, the young man grew visibly agitated.

He lashed out repeatedly, blasting apart three whole trees. The young man stared at the empty surroundings, panting heavily.

A duel between assassins is a contest of Stealth Techniques, patience, and speed.

By now, the young man was in a full-blown panic. It was safe to say the match was already decided. Just as he was frantically turning his head to scan his surroundings, a graceful figure appeared silently behind him.

The figure was dressed in black Night Travel Clothes that perfectly outlined her curvaceous form. Based on her figure alone, the owner could be considered a great beauty.

Before the young man could even react, a dagger was already pressed against his neck. A cool female voice spoke from behind him, "It’s over."

Hearing this, the young man said in terror, "Sister Ning Shuang, don’t—"

Before he could finish, the dagger had already sliced cleanly across his neck. In an instant, the young man collapsed to the ground, dead.

Stepping out from the shadows behind the young man, Ning Shuang’s gorgeous face was gradually revealed to the crowd. Instantly, many of the men in the audience went wild. Here, Ning Shuang was the undisputed goddess.

’Heh heh, she really is much more beautiful than before,’ Li Tian mused with a smile. ’Young Master Lin truly has incredible luck with women. Every woman around him is more beautiful than the last, and each has her own unique charm.’

Ning Shuang and the dead young man were both Disciples of the Death Row Shelter. However, that was how the Death Row Shelter operated: even for fellow Disciples, failure meant death. It was exceptionally cruel.

Despite her victory, Ning Shuang showed no hint of joy. Her expression remained cold as she walked out of the Array.

However, just as Ning Shuang stepped out of the Central Array, she saw Li Tian waving at her from a short distance away. Her expression shifted slightly, and she quickened her pace toward him.

"Is something the matter with the Young Master?" Arriving before Li Tian, Ning Shuang’s first words were a worried question. The "Young Master" she referred to was, of course, Lin Yun.

"Mm, there is. He was ambushed by Wei Yunhang, the senior disciple of the Taiqing Academy," Li Tian said with a smile.

Hearing this, Ning Shuang’s expression changed, and she immediately turned toward the exit. Seeing this, Li Tian shouted, "Where are you going?"

"To save the Young Master, of course," Ning Shuang said without looking back.

"I’m not finished yet..."

Hearing this, Ning Shuang finally turned around. A trace of anger was on her face as she glared at Li Tian without a word.

At this, Li Tian gave a dry laugh. ’What a devoted woman,’ he thought. He then proceeded to tell Ning Shuang everything that had happened in Fire City.

After listening to Li Tian’s explanation, Ning Shuang said coolly, "You’re saying the Taiqing Academy has been wiped out?"
