Chapter 1395 - 908: Xiao Song
Li Qingrong walked up to Jiang Nian, and without mentioning anything about not meeting, she merely glanced at him and asked.
"How long have you waited?"
"Not long." Jiang Nian waved his hand, since he came here for serious matters, "Shall we talk somewhere else?"
"Okay."
On the quiet roadside beside the residential area, the two found a coffee shop with a low-key, retro-style décor that didn’t stand out.
After Jiang Nian placed his order and sat down, he felt a bit uneasy.
"Ahem."
The atmosphere was a bit awkward, since he was the one who came over. But he didn’t understand the reason, so he couldn’t directly ask the person involved.
Waiting a bit longer didn’t matter, since it had only been a day or two.
"Qingqing, I’ve seen your sister." Jiang Nian thought for a moment and changed the topic, "She was quite angry."
"Yeah, she said she wanted to drive her car into you."
Jiang Nian: "???"
"Huh?"
He was dumbfounded, looking at Li Qingrong, "Really? Your sister actually said that, no wonder just now....."
Damn, the old woman is really ruthless.
"What happened just now?"
"Nothing." Jiang Nian felt embarrassed to say, so he simply said, "Sorry, your sister said you were very angry."
A lightning-speed apology.
Upon hearing this, Li Qingrong didn’t say anything. She just looked at him calmly, and after half a minute, finally spoke.
"Not really that angry."
Jiang Nian breathed a sigh of relief and continued probing.
"It was indeed my fault, there were some things I didn’t make clear, I’ve grown up with her since we were young."
He deliberately paused here. He glanced at Li Qingrong, seeing her react slightly at the mention of "since young."
This further confirmed his suspicion.
"When I say since young, actually at that time I was brainless. Didn’t think much, treating each other like dogs."
Li Qingrong: "..."
"Just like Da Huang and Xiao Hua, there’s actually no difference, the only distinction might be that we can talk."
Li Qingrong pursed her lips, her gaze lowered for a moment.
"You had a strong bond?"
"Ah, yes." Jiang Nian didn’t deny, he and Boss Xu indeed have a deep bond, otherwise it wouldn’t be hard to separate.
Or rather, no one wanted to let go.
Even though they broke up last time, if you extend the timeline, they’re likely to continue getting tangled in the future.
Li Qingrong held up her coffee, taking a small sip.
"Do you know why I’m angry?"
"I roughly know." Jiang Nian pondered for a moment and said, "But Qingqing, I went to elementary school in the countryside."
"Truth be told, didn’t really have the chance to meet you."
Li Qingrong: "..."
Night deepened.
Streetlights filtered through sparse sycamore leaves, casting light on the wide road as the two leisurely strolled along the paths beside it.
Jiang Nian didn’t know the reason, but he still tried to reach out. Holding the class leader’s hand, she didn’t struggle.
The aim isn’t about explaining, admitting fault big time isn’t a loss.
He’s just here to try his luck, leave an impression. Since tomorrow he’d be heading to Yuhang, best not leave things hanging.
Even if it doesn’t work out, he’d have some peace of mind.
"Qingqing."
"Hmm."
"Are you...are you still mad now?" Jiang Nian asked.
"Still am." Li Qingrong’s expression didn’t change much, "Compared to the last couple days, it’s a bit better."
"Really?"
"Yeah, because you’re here."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Nian paused momentarily. Did he really have such an impact, when they were talking about separating two days ago?
"Then I, not right."
"Then will you take two days off?" He turned to look at Li Qingrong, "Would you like us to...go take a break?"
Li Qingrong turned and looked at him.
"Are you blaming me?"
"Not at all." Jiang Nian felt awkward, thinking how the class leader had become suspicious by nature, "You’re overthinking."
"Because I care more about you."
"What?"
"Nothing."
...
As the night deepened.
Li Lanying lay on the sofa, playing with her phone and rolling around, asking why Qingqing hadn’t returned yet.
After rolling for a while, she lost her energy.
"Where’s everyone?"
She thought she’d successfully driven Jiang Nian away in the evening, planning a celebratory night, yet Qingqing disappeared suddenly.
Couldn’t get through by phone either, could they possibly be together?
Suddenly, there was a ding at the door.
Li Qingrong unlocked the door and came in, followed by someone behind her. Looking closely, who else could it be but the just-mentioned Jiang Nian?
"Hmm?"
"What are you doing here?!!"
Li Lanying sat up startled, glancing at her sister once, then at Jiang Nian, wondering if it could be.
Could it be?
"Why did you two...come back together?"
"It was on the way."
"Yeah, on the way." Jiang Nian waved at Li Lanying, smiling, "Good evening."
"Not good at all."
Li Lanying was speechless, stormed back to her room. After a while came storming back out again, grabbing a glass of wine to the room.
Jiang Nian: "???"
"She’s drinking?"
"Can’t control her, just let her be." Li Qingrong’s expression was calm, "Once she gets hurt from drinking, she’ll curl up on the sofa again."
"I’m not deaf!!" Li Lanying’s indignant voice came from the room, "Don’t talk bad about me!!"
Jiang Nian chuckled.
But he didn’t stay much longer, since Li Lanying was around. At night, couldn’t really do anything in front of someone.
Even with walls, it’s still kind of awkward.
Jiang Nian chatted for a while, then found an excuse to leave. The night breeze brushing against him as he walked back towards the studio.
Avoided returning to the dorm to disturb the roommates.
Arrived at the studio.
With a click, lights around illuminated brightly. He casually turned on the air conditioning and simultaneously powered the computer, replying to messages.
The surroundings were quiet, message alert sounds beeped periodically.
"Hmm?"
"Xiao Song’s message?"
Jiang Nian hesitated for a moment, he typically doesn’t need rest. But so late at night, Xiao Song also hadn’t slept.
"Couldn’t sleep?"
"No, just out with roommates having a midnight snack." Xiao Song sent a photo, he was over at Zhongguan Village.
"Really?"
"Not tasty, tastes indescribable." Xiao Song sent some more photos of various barbecued food.
"Not as good as last time, when we ate at your place."
"Want to come over?"
Just as he sent the message, the other side began typing immediately. After a while, replied with several question marks and a line.
