Chapter 2888 - 78: Matchmaking Event
"Miss Lucas, Miss Lucas... it’s so great to see you, we finally found you. Hurry, come with me... everyone’s waiting for you."
A couple of military officers from the training camp next door, the ones who had been doing weighted training with Harrison Lucas every day a few days ago, came to the courtyard gate.
Seeing Harrison Lucas just getting out of the car, the two immediately ran over in high spirits, slung an arm around Harrison Lucas’s shoulders, and started to drag "him" out.
"Wait, at least tell me what’s going on first..." They were all familiar, so it was no big deal.
But Harrison Lucas had no idea where they were so excitedly hauling "him" off to. There wasn’t even time to ask before her thin frame tilted slightly toward the two tall, strapping military officers because of the arm around her shoulders.
Just then, a tall, lean figure stepped down from the other side of the military Land Rover.
The man took a few long strides to reach Harrison Lucas and, without a shred of mercy, slapped away the officer’s hand on Harrison Lucas’s shoulder.
His other hand yanked Harrison Lucas backward, firmly blocking her entire body behind his own.
"Miss Lucas doesn’t have time now." Ben Lucas’s cold, stern face showed not a trace of warmth, and his deep voice was even icier than usual.
"Major General Lucas..." They hadn’t expected Ben Lucas to be here too. The two officers who came to fetch people immediately straightened up and gave Ben Lucas a textbook‑perfect salute.
The two officers spoke in unison: "Good day, sir."
Their voices were loud and clear, their posture textbook standard. Facing G City Military Headquarters’ most famous, youngest, and strictest grim reaper, even though it was still vacation time, no military officer dared act out of line in front of him.
"What’s going on." Ben Lucas gave a slight nod, then asked in an utterly frigid voice, "Where are you trying to take my person?"
Because the training camp next door was right beside their special forces unit, relations had always been good, and it was common to see them come over looking for Harrison Lucas.
In the past, when he saw them get along well with Harrison Lucas, arms slung over shoulders and all, Ben Lucas had never felt anything was wrong.

But now, just seeing these sunny, tough young officers hook an arm around Harrison Lucas’s shoulders made him feel it was an eyesore from every angle.
Even though Ben Lucas knew that in the military headquarters everyone was comrades, and this kind of physical contact was completely normal.
Understanding it in his head was one thing; seeing it with his own eyes was another.
Ben Lucas already completely regarded Harrison Lucas as his own property, his "little boyfriend," and of course he wouldn’t allow anyone else to touch "him" casually.
The two officers still had no idea that this youngest, coldest Major General of theirs was practically fuming with jealousy inside. One of them said foolishly, "Reporting, Major General, we were ordered to bring Miss Lucas to the main auditorium. There’s a blind date event going on there.
This is an event arranged from above to help young military officers solve their single status. Some time ago we mentioned it to Miss Lucas, and he also said he wanted to date someone, so we helped sign him up. You can ask Miss Lucas, right, Miss Lucas?"
The two honest, simple‑minded young officers grinned, even craning their necks to look past Ben Lucas at Harrison Lucas hiding behind him, asking her to testify.
Harrison Lucas hadn’t expected it to be this. Hearing what they said, she suddenly remembered it had already been a few weeks.
Back then it happened when she’d run into it while eating in the cafeteria with Jared Holbrook and Franklin Miller.
At the time, everyone in the cafeteria was talking about this blind date event arranged by headquarters. They said all the young single military officers could sign up, and the girls coming to the blind date were all young teachers, nurses, and other very gentle, virtuous types.
