Chapter 478 - 368: Friend (3)
But seeing that Tie Dan looked like he had something to say, Little White could only nod. "I’m finished. The food was so delicious."
Tie Dan grabbed Little White’s sleeve, gave it a tug, and started walking toward the courtyard.
Little White hurried to follow.
Seeing this, the other three also stood up. "Please, you go on and eat, ma’am. We’re just going to go for a walk."
The three of them followed behind Little White and Tie Dan.
"Tie Dan, what on earth did you want to tell me?"
Tie Dan pulled Little White to a corner of the courtyard, far enough from the house that they couldn’t be overheard if they spoke in low voices.
Tie Dan turned around, his expression dark as he stared at the three humans standing not far away.
"Why are you following me!" he snapped, his tone sharp.
They had just seen this native, Tie Dan, being so nice to the little girl, and had assumed he was good-tempered.
That was why the three of them had thought they could find some clues from him. They just hadn’t expected Tie Dan’s good nature to be so selective.
"Don’t be mad, kid. We’re the same as her."
"The same how?" Little White didn’t understand. The girl reached out to grab her, but Little White dodged away. The girl could only grit her teeth. "We’re from the outside, too. We can work together."
’If this native hears this, who knows if he’ll make trouble for us.’
Looking at the girl with the dyed-yellow hair, Little White shook her head. "Sorry, not interested. You’d better stay away from me. Otherwise, Tie Dan will eat you!"
The moment she finished speaking, as if to back her up, Tie Dan instantly opened his mouth and the hole in his stomach!
The three of them were so scared they immediately ran a great distance away.
"Who on earth is that little girl? Why is she hanging out with these natives?"
"She ate so much of that food just now, and she’s completely fine. She can’t be an ordinary person."
"She’s not exactly friendly toward us. Looks like we’ll have to figure something out."

Little White looked at Tie Dan, only to see he had returned to normal. "Little White... you... must not listen... to my... mother... Whatever you do, just don’t listen to her!"
Tie Dan didn’t say why.
"What about your father, then?"
The man who hadn’t said a single word at the dinner table looked a bit younger than Tie Dan’s mother.
"My dad... he’s afraid of my mom. So don’t listen to a word either of them says. Even if you think they’re being very nice to you, don’t listen."
Little White was a little curious. "This kind of behavior... in the human world, wouldn’t this be called selling out your own family?"
"You!" Tie Dan turned his back to Little White in a huff. "Fine, believe me or don’t!"
Angrily, Tie Dan started to walk away.
"Wait, don’t go! You’re my only friend here. What will I do if you leave?"
Hearing Little White’s words—hearing her call him a friend, her *only* friend—seemed to instantly extinguish the anger in Tie Dan’s heart.
’She said I’m her only friend.’
’Okay, I’ll help her just this once more!’
Tie Dan turned around, about to say he wasn’t mad anymore, but before he could open his mouth, Little White said, "Can you show me around the village? I ate so much, I’m a little stuffed."
Tie Dan, who had been worried that she would have problems after eating so much of *that stuff*, now just nodded numbly.
"I can show you around, but you have to remember not to wander off or talk out of turn, got it? And don’t just trust people. Those other people aren’t really on your side."
Little White nodded enthusiastically.
’This is a perfect chance to look for Sister Wen Ying and my little brother,’ Little White thought. ’They must have gotten in here too.’
As Little White and Tie Dan left for their walk, they passed the trio without a sideways glance, completely ignoring them.
Tie Dan asked curiously, "Little White, you don’t like those three?"
"Other than my sister and my little brother—the ones you saw sitting with me on the train—I don’t like anyone else."
"Then... me?" Tie Dan seemed to want to ask. What about him?
’Does Little White like me?’
But the words died on his lips, as he was too embarrassed to ask.
"What ’me’? You’re not a person! You’re my friend!"
His head spinning from being called "friend" again, Tie Dan nodded emphatically. ’Right, a friend.’
’We’re friends!’
’Her only friend!’
They passed a small-looking room with its door wide open.
No one was around, but from the doorway, they could see a chair placed in the center of the room.
An old-fashioned Taishi Chair.
Tie Dan quickly grabbed Little White, who was about to go in and test the comfort of the Taishi Chair, and whispered, "Don’t go in. This place is bad news."
"None of the other humans dare come here."
Little White was intrigued, but finding her sister was more important right now, so she didn’t press the issue.
But just then, a boy about Tie Dan’s age suddenly emerged from the room. His clothes were clearly much nicer than Tie Dan’s.
"Tie Dan, hurry and come in! Let’s play together."
The color drained from Tie Dan’s face. He tried to grab Little White and run, but he found he couldn’t move his body at all.
