Chapter 432 - 433: Bandit Suppression in Black Wind Valley
Sixteen of them!
Ye Wushuang’s words made all the Nanyang Guard in the North Camp stare intently. No Deputy Captain had ever dared to challenge sixteen Captains at once.
"Since he’s so confident, all of you can attack him at once."
Seeing this, Di Xuan shouted.
At his words, the remaining eight men charged forward as well.
"To challenge sixteen men at once... he’s got guts, but he’s too young. A bit arrogant."
Such was the Nanyang Guard’s assessment of Ye Wushuang.
Ye Wushuang glanced at Di Xuan before fixing his gaze on the sixteen Captains. He had seen one of them before—it was Captain Liu.
However, Captain Liu’s expression was currently quite unsightly.
Having witnessed Ye Wushuang’s power and ruthless methods before, he was worried that Ye Wushuang would end up crippling a few of them.
"Kill!"
The other Captains, however, were unaware. With a cold roar, they unleashed astonishing killing intent. A terrifying wave of energy swept out, kicking up clouds of dust across the grand plaza and brewing a violent storm.
The onlooking Nanyang Guard retreated in shock. The power one needed to become a Captain was enough to make them tremble!
BOOM!
The sixteen men moved as one, attacking from all directions. They threw powerful punches, their killing intent so thick it was almost tangible, accompanied by the faint roars of dragons and tigers.
Ye Wushuang’s eyes narrowed, a divine light flashing within them.
’A little hazing to put me in my place. I knew it was coming. Of course, I have a way to deal with it.’
And that method was to crush them with overwhelming power!
BOOM!
Ye Wushuang moved, flickering across the field like a streak of light. He threw a punch of his own, and the very air trembled.
It was as if the very fabric of space was being dragged along by his fist, hurtling toward the charging men.
BAM, BAM, BAM...
One punch per man. He threw sixteen consecutive punches, and sixteen figures were sent flying. SPLURT! All sixteen men spat blood as they were knocked back.
Instantly, everyone in the grand plaza was dumbfounded.
In less than a single exchange, all sixteen men had been defeated.
Even on the high platform, Tan Zhengqing felt a jolt. ’I still underestimated Ye Wushuang’s strength!’ he realized.
Di Xuan also shuddered violently, shocked by Ye Wushuang’s power. ’With that kind of strength, he could kill me countless times over.’
However, seeing the men injured by Ye Wushuang, Di Xuan saw the perfect opportunity to sow discord. He immediately shouted, "Ye Wushuang, how vicious! This was just a challenge, yet you were so heavy-handed! You clearly don’t see them as your brothers!"
Ye Wushuang turned and stared coldly at Di Xuan, his eyes filled with killing intent.
"What? Did I hit a nerve? You want to kill me or something?" Di Xuan said coldly, every word intended to provoke.
However, just as Di Xuan finished speaking, the sixteen Captains got back to their feet.
They gathered around Ye Wushuang and abruptly dropped to one knee. "Captain Ye, we gladly admit defeat and pledge our loyalty. From now on, you are the Deputy Captain of the North Camp!"
The sixteen men’s voices were firm and resolute, holding not a hint of insubordination or resentment.
Di Xuan’s expression froze, his face turning incredibly ugly.
How could Di Xuan have known? Though Ye Wushuang’s fists had been heavy, he had actually helped the sixteen men during the exchange.
The fierce and domineering combat techniques they practiced took a considerable toll on their meridians.
However, when Ye Wushuang’s fists struck them, they carried a peculiar energy that repaired those very meridians.
They were incredibly grateful. How could they possibly hate him?
"Get up. From now on, we’re all brothers," Ye Wushuang said coolly with one hand behind his back. ’To make these men submit, one punch isn’t enough. It has to be a punch that strikes them in the heart to be truly effective.’
That was why Ye Wushuang had imbued his fists with a measure of Tai Chi Power, enough to heal their hidden injuries.
On the high platform, Tan Zhengqing seemed to sense something. Even more surprised than before, he strode down from the platform.
"Resume your training!"
Tan Zhengqing yelled at the sixteen men.
The sixteen men then cupped their fists toward Ye Wushuang before returning to their squads.
"Brother Ye, I never expected you to be so powerful. Even I misjudged you."
After the men had left, Tan Zhengqing suddenly broke into a smile.
"Lord Tan, you flatter me," Ye Wushuang replied with a smile. Now that he had broken through to the Spiritual Spring Sixth Layer and his Treasure Body had reached Great Success, his power had indeed undergone a massive transformation.
At this point, not even Ye Wushuang himself was sure of the true extent of his power.
"Brother Ye, to have such strength at your age... it truly puts me to shame," Tan Zhengqing said with a wry smile. ’In his heart, he knew the truth. Ye Wushuang’s power is likely even greater than my own!’
"Captain!"
Just as Tan Zhengqing finished speaking, a Nanyang Guard came rushing over.
Tan Zhengqing stopped their conversation and turned to ask, "What’s the matter? Why the rush?"
"Captain, the bandits of Black Wind Valley are running rampant outside Nanyang City again! They’ve slaughtered many citizens, plunging the city into a panic. The Vice Marshal has ordered us to annihilate them!"
the Nanyang Guard replied.
"Black Wind Valley! I thought they were lying low!"
Tan Zhengqing’s brow furrowed.
"Lord Tan, what’s the story with Black Wind Valley?"
Seeing Tan Zhengqing’s frown, a puzzled Ye Wushuang asked for clarification.
"Brother Ye, you may not be aware, but Black Wind Valley is a major bandit group outside Nanyang City. Their two leaders are both at the Spiritual Spring Ninth Layer, and their overall strength is formidable."
"They’ve kept to themselves in the past and never caused trouble for Nanyang City, so the Nanyang Guard left them alone. But to think they’d slaughter so many of our people this time... It seems this tumor will have to be excised."
Tan Zhengqing explained.
At the same time, a glint flashed in Di Xuan’s eyes. A sneer touched his lips before he quickly concealed it. He stepped forward and said, "Captain, now that we have an expert like Deputy Captain Ye, Black Wind Valley will be no threat at all with you leading the charge."
Ye Wushuang’s eyes narrowed at Di Xuan’s words.
Tan Zhengqing thought for a moment, then asked, "Brother Ye, are you interested in joining me?"
"I’ve only just arrived at the North Camp and have yet to contribute. Since Lord Tan has given the order, I am of course willing."
Ye Wushuang agreed. He smiled to himself; he hadn’t expected to be sent on a bandit extermination mission so soon after taking up his post.
’But this is good, too,’ he thought. ’Leaving the city will be the perfect opportunity to inquire about the Nirvana Cave Mansion. And my status as a Deputy Captain will be a great help in finding news about my father, Ye Xuan!’
Seeing Ye Wushuang agree, Di Xuan seized the opportunity to step forward. "I’ve operated in the Black Wind Valley area before and I’m familiar with the terrain. Should I come along?"
"In that case, you’ll go too."
Without giving it much thought, Tan Zhengqing ordered, "Cao Hong, you will take eight squads and follow us. The rest will remain to guard the North Camp."
Black Wind Valley was a formidable force; they would be at a disadvantage if they went with too few men.
Therefore, Tan Zhengqing decided to take half of his Nanyang Guard soldiers.
Nearby, Ye Wushuang kept his eyes fixed on Di Xuan. ’For some reason,’ he thought, ’I feel like this isn’t as simple as it looks.’
Hmph!
Noticing Ye Wushuang’s gaze, Di Xuan snorted and turned away, his face flashing with icy killing intent.
At Tan Zhengqing’s command, the eight squads mobilized.
A moment later, several hundred men mounted their Red Blood Horses and galloped out of the city.
